I used to purchase pen & ink from this shop when I was studying in class Six. I finished my education from BHU in 1973. Now I am 72 year age. This was the biggest shop in Varanasi during our time. चेल पार्क की स्याही याद आ गई। याद आ गया वो समय जब परीक्षा से एक दिन पहले सारे फाउंटेन पेन के एक एक कल पुर्जे को खोल कर एक बाल्टी पानी मे डुबो कर साफ करके चेल पार्क की स्याही भरते ताकि परीक्षा के दिन पेन धोखा ना दे।

कोरस इंक भी होती थी। यह टेबलेट के रूप में भी होती थी, जिसे उचित मात्रा के पानी में घोल कर तैयार की जाती थी।
इतने सालों से लिख रही हूं। डायरी, पेन का इतना शौक रहा है पर इतनी जानकारी पहली बार पता चली, अबकी बार बनारस इसी के लिए आना है।

मैं बचपन से ही 1957 से पेन्को की इस दुकान पर जाता था। मैं स्याही की गोलियां खरीदता था। लिखावट विकसित करने के लिए मैंने पेन होल्डर में जी निब्स का इस्तेमाल किया। यह देखते ही मैं नॉस्टैल्जिक हो गया। मैं एक छात्र था।

बचपन की यादें ताज़ा हो गई। लगभग ४० साल पहले हम इस दुकान से पेन ख़रीद कर लाते थे और अपने दोस्तों को बड़ी शान से दिखाते थे। 👍👍👏👏🙏🙏

पहले होती थी लकड़ी की तख्ती और सरकंडे से बनाई कलम, चिल्पार्क की बोतल में 0.25/- की स्याही बनाने की टिक्की, और मुल्तानी मिट्टी, क्या लिखावट होती थी, कसम से बहुत मजा आता था, उस समय शिक्षा सस्ती थी। आज नर्सरी से 12वीं तक नोटबुक का खर्च ही बहुत होता है।

हमने सबसे नायब पेन वही देखा है जिसमे 4 रिफिल होती थी और हम हमेशा 2 को एक साथ निकालने की कोशिश करते थे😂😂😂

It was insulting for ThePenCo to be interviewed by this lalantop reporter. Owner was very knowledgeable, but interviewer was watershed. Before going to this shop he shud have done his homework. Side kick was more enthusiastic, and trying to understand the product.

I am surprised that such a pen shop is there in Varanasi and still the 3rd generation is continuing the business. I completed my education in UP. and there was a pen GOEL and their shop was in Sarafa Bazar,Kanpur, purely Indian brand just like Naidu’s pen of erstwhile Andhra I think these could not continue their brand and business. I became fond of fountain pens when I started learning Pitman shorthand systematically wherein High speed writing can be achieved by fountain pen with gold nibs. I still have one pen of Goel with golden nib and one Pilot(telescopic pinkish) with gold nib which I used with pink ink for quite long time. Pilot,Goel, Swan were affordable brands for average Income Indians in the past but now these brands just gone. Thanks for Lallan top bringing this shop into the notice of viewers.If God gives a chance to visit Varanasi I will be certainly visiting this shop. Appreciate the courteous way the shop owner dealt with your Reporter.
Ye lalantop ka sabse best episode hai. Bachpan ke yaade. Hamare chacha ke bhi stationary ke shop the, mere papa school principal the. Ye sab fountain pen collections, ink, haat shirt Nile karna bahut nostalgia hai. Mujhe camel kai handwriting competition mein 1st price mila tha gold polished fountain pen mila tha price mein when I was in 5th class. Ab to 15 saal se computer engineer hai pen sirf letter sign karne mein hee use hota hai. I guess last 2007 mein engineering kai exam mein hee likha tha.

visited this shop with my father recently, my grandfather used to take him to this shop when he was a child.
They also manufacture the ink,nib pens.. and also repair them. Feels good to see this report. Their sons are now running this shop and maintaining the legacy. Hats off..❤️❤️🎉🥳
would like to add that the reportage is not very apt. The excessive usage of banarasi accent is annoying. I would like to see the same anchor interviewing a celebrity. Maybe shouldnt fake the accent so much.

It was mandatory to write with fountain pens in my childhood.
Oh be still my heart.....you have touched a corner of my heart that has not seen light in a very long time...I was once a fountain pen nerd... I was partial to a certain brand..of inexpensive pens,...and pen vendor..a particular brand of Blue/Black or Royal blue ink...As the store owner stated..the eternal pursuit for the perfect nib..and the perfect body..the one that did not leak. Never sharing my fountain pen...writing and scratching pages and pages to break in a new instrument...My 1st Mont Blanc, My gift a rather special Parker with a gold band and nib...from 1956 from my fathers collection of fine instruments. I still have a few choice pieces of Mont Blanc and Parker...and once in a while hold them in my fingers...lovingly..and my fingers say ...helloo old friend..

I am 70 years old now. I have been using fountain pen since my childhood. Usage of fountain pen was quite common in my childhood. I even used the 'kalam',inserting nibs. I have even preserved a variety of nibs still. But unfortunately, I lost the wooden kalams somewhere. Your programme has kindled nostalgia of my childhood days. My grandfather used to write with a sleek Parker fountain pen having golden cap and small nib. It was preserved by my youngest maternal uncle, last seen by me around 1975 or so . Good.

मैंने तो बचपन में दवात और लकड़ी की पेन जिसे डुबोकर लिखा जाता था वह भी उपयोग की है।आज वह सब एक सपना जैसा रह गया है।
आने वाले समय में यह स्याही और फ़ाउंटेन पेन भी इसी तरह आने वाली पीढ़ियाँ याद करेंगी।
I visited this unique shop three years ago and bought a beautiful fountain pen 🖋 after having a nice chat with the owner. A prized possession!
बचपन में ही इंक पेन से लिखने की जो आदत बनी, वह आज तक कायम है। सरकंडे से बने कलम से भी शौखिया तौर पर खूब लिखा। 1984 में जब मैं मैट्रिक की परीक्षा बहुत ही अच्छे रैंक से पास किया था तो मुझे टिस्को कंपनी के तत्कालीन CMD श्री रूसी मोदी जी ने एक फाउंटेन पेन बतौर तोहफा दिया था। हालांकि उस वक्त उस कलम की वैल्यू मुझे नही मालूम थी कि मुझे कितनी बेशकीमती तोहफा दिया गया है। आज भी सुरक्षित है। उसी वर्ष मुझे किसी ने कत्थई-पीली रंग वाली मेड इन चाइना पेन भी गिफ्ट किया था वह भी आज तक न सिर्फ सुरक्षित है बल्कि कारगर भी है।
पढ़ाई समाप्त होने के बाद भी चूंकि ऐसे पेशे में रहा जहां किताबों और कलमों का साथ लगातार जारी रहा, तब अत्याधुनिक कंप्यूटर्स नही आये थे। तो कागजों पर कलम या पेंसिल से ही लिखना पड़ता था।
साहू जी ने एक बहुत ही गंभीर समस्या की तरफ ध्यान आकृष्ट कराया है कि बच्चों की लिखावट की ओर अब विशेष ध्यान नही दिया जा रहा है। इसका मूल कारण है कि हमलोग लिखना छोड़ते जा रहे हैं। लिखते-लिखते बहुत सारी बातें उसी समय याद हो जाया करती थी।
अब तो न वह दौर है, न शौख। लोग 2 रुपये की कलम से भी वही काम सम्पन्न कर ले रहे हैं जो लाखों रुपये की कलम से होती है।
इंक पेन का मेरे ऊपर इतना ज्यादा प्रभाव पड़ा कि मैंने जो अपनी पहली पुस्तक लिखी थी उसका नाम ही रखा था- फाउंटेन पेन।
बहुत ही शानदार एपिसोड था, हालांकि बहुत सारे जरूरी प्रश्न नही पूछे जा सके। बहुत जल्द ही मैं इस पवित्र स्थल के दर्शन करने जाऊंगा।

We had a priveleged to shoot a similar video with him at this wonderful museum like store in Banaras...he is thorough gentleman, very welcoming, very pateince and passionate for Kalam(knibs & pens) he enjoyed his childhood here and knows each and everything about pens..we bought few rare pens from him, and gifted him a set of postcards from Mumbai to him. Wish him the best for his new showroom as well, which was opened 2 years back near to IIT BHU access street.

I have Nib Holder wooden holder and 75 degree angled Nib made in 1778, England. A Kilk /Kalam made of Cane stem may be about four hundred years old and 10 k gold Swiss made watches ( Four) may be made in early 1900 AD and two Pilot fountain pens and ,some English pen ink now almost dried, I am proud of having these type items.

जिस दुकान में खड़े हैं न वो दुकान नहीं ब्रांड है। दी पेनको। बच्चों को पढ़ने की प्रेरणा ये दुकान देती रही है। इनकी मेन दुकान पाण्डेय हवेळी में थी जो हाल में बंद हो गई। अभी इनकी संकट मोचन की नई दुकान से हमने पार्कर की 1951 ओरिजिनल मॉडल खरीदी।
शेफर्स, वाटर मैन, मोब्लांक ये सब नाम पेनको ने सिखाये हैं। मेरे शहर बनारस में ये भी एक डेस्टिनेशन होना चाहिए।

बहुत खूब पैन से मुझे अपने पिता की याद आगयी बहुत अलग अलग तरहे के पैन थे ग्रीन इंक उन की पसंद थी मैने भी इस्तेमाल किया है बहुत छोटे में
