Railfanning Watsonville Junction! Monterey Local and Amtrak! Walk Around Locomotives!

On Sunday August 11, 2024, I had left Redwood City to head on down to Watsonville Junction. My second favorite place to railfan. Today on the UP LWJ61-11 Was UP 1037 and UP 1088, both being units that were on the UP LSF51 back in 2021 when I started being a railfan so I really love these units because they bring back good memories. Anyways, after we saw the UP LWJ61-11 or how people call it as the "Monterey Hauler", I headed down to the yard where UP 1472 and UP 1448 were sitting. I then recorded a quick walk around the old GP40-2 and the GP40N. One of other fav units was also here, UP 1448 it is an old DRGW GP40-2 that is yet to be rebuilt. This unit has spent its whole life in the Bay Area, with sightings of it on the UP Santa Cruz Local back in 2002. But anywho, we had then gone down to the old SP Watsonville Junction signals and as we arrived Amtrak 11 The Coast Starlight had showed up heading South. After the Coast Starlight, I was told that no more trains were lined for Watsonville until the Monterey Hualers return trip so I left to the see the SCBG CF7.
