  • With a sense of nostalgia, I just bought what might be the last great Crown Vic left at the surplus auction. Whether you call it chocolate pudding, brown puke or just medium brown metallic like Ford does, this 2008 Police Interceptor represents a time when the Ford Crown Victoria was king of the police cars.

I have a 2003 Crown Victoria Police interceptor that needs a transmission, everything else is good. I has the biggest engine which is fine, lights on the grill, police console in between front seats and wires in the floor. I have had a lot of things fixed on it. I want to sell it to someone that loves it, so if anyone is interested let me know, I live in Cleveland TN

Best year Crown Victoria transmission is in 2006 to 2011 ( 4R75E). Any year downward of that (2005-4-3-2) the transmission 4r70w is a weak piece of garbage dating back to first year 1981 production A.o.d......

Often times at auctions people will remove wires / unplug engine things so warning lights come on and the prices will be cheaper. They win the auction than plug it back in.

Those losers usually don't bid enough to buy it. 😉Craziest I ever saw was a spark plug completely missing out of a newer Explorer. Coil was back in place so when you started it up it had a completely open hole. My brother bough it site unseen, new plug and it was as good as new. Nicest Explorer I have ever seen to boot.

I bought a medium brown 2007 P71 at the Dallas County Sheriffs auction a couple of years ago. I love it. My paint is not as nice as yours as it has taken a beating from the Texas sun. I don't have any rust or corrosion from salt though and the A/C works great. I put the small hub caps on mine also. The brown looks pretty nice all cleaned up. These cars are getting harder and harder to find in good condition. If anyone has been sitting on the fence about buying one, the time is now!

If you are not familiar, you can find a picture under "police full wheel cover Crown Victoria police interceptor"
A buddy and I have bought a boat load of Crown Vic's from Colorado Highway Patrol. We drove many back to
central Texas, 1000 miles. Never had a one leave us sitting along side the road. Some had the check engine light
on, no big deal. You"re right, the a/c probably just needs a top off. I don't know what you paid for it, but I think you
made a good deal. I currently have three, one 2011 Travis Co sheriff's office, 2007 Texas Alcoholic Bev. Commission,
and 2011 Texas Dept. of Public Safety Sgt's car. Love them all.
