What size dowels do you use, my husband used a1/4 inch in the top hole and a 1/8 inch in the bottom hole he drilled the hole in the kangaroo 19/64 bit and also used washers between legs and body
It's been a minute since I've made one, but I'm pretty sure I only used 1/4" dowels for both spots. The washers is a good idea, I just left a little gap.

Little tip from scroll sawing. Put stick on plastic book cover onto the wood, then spray adhesive to that. Pulls off cleanly when done

I used .75" thick pine boards: standard 1 by material in the states.

What size dowel do you use for the kangaroo?
If memory serves me correct, it was 1/4 inch. That's what I use the most for toys.

I add just a very small piece of sand paper under the front leg and that work for me...

Splash a little mineral spirits on the pattern and it will come off, that’s what my husband does
