a 14 year old kid running away from home just makes no sense, your gonna have no where to go and no one to take care of you, your parents are only doing the best for you💖
i actually though about running away once cus i was stressed cus i had so much homework then i was about but then it struck me i though to myself where will i go what will i do who will take care of me? so i didnt and parents are your guardians where ever you go
happened to me with my friend in middle school. i took her bus home, was trying to get away from my house (lots of abuse) and she made me call my parents to pick me up - just kicked me out. even though she knew my situation
This hurts me, I ran away a few months ago because my mom was yelling at me so I ran out of the house while my mom was chasing me but the stone gate was broken, so I crawled through it so I can leave my neighborhood, my mom was calling me for like 45 minutes and my neighbor called the cops and was trying to keep my mom calm, luckily I met up with a friend that lived a couple blocks away from me he was talking to me, and next thing I know I see a sheriff helicopter, so my friend walks me back home and we both saw like 5 police cars, and I saw my mom crying really hard and she hugs me and says "don't ever do that again I love you very much". And I regret what I did. I will never do it again, because it didn't only hurt me, but it hurt so many others.
My mom would bawl her eyes out, but my dad would scream his head off at me. If I ran away, I wouldn't be able to come back unless I was prepared to feel even worse than I do now.
İn my country kids never say that 😅 I have never heard any childl says to his/her parents that he/she will run away from home . American Kids are different.
Amazing message! Running away is only an option if your parents actually do not care and you are being abused. I know being in a South Asian family you would get smacked if you ran away then came back home because that behavior is not tolerated but they do that out of caring. Never do something you'll regret.
Fr idk why American parents are so nice and their kids call them “strict” 😭? And they just give them £100 allowance and if they don’t they are mean? My Balkan mother would beat me to death
Parents when girl goes and “never” comes back: *kalm as hek* Parents when Sarah uses her phone at the table and her parents don’t give her money: *PANIK AS HELL*
Sadly, there are too many kids who are abused so they run away out of desperation; however, many kids experience that thing about thinking the grass is greener on the other side of the fence, until they get there and realize they had it pretty good at home. Many kids will end up going back home, but many won’t. Too many parents use the fear of kids running away as an excuse to have no discipline for their kids.
I remember seeing an excerpt from “Everybody Hates Chris” about allowance: (Father ): “Allowance? I allow you to nibble on those string beans! I allow you to watch my TV! I allow you to sleep here at night! I allow you to live with a roof over your head! I allow you to drink my “Kool-Aid”! I allow you to eat those potatoes! I allow you to walk up my stairs! I allow you to run up my gas bill!” (words to that effect.)
2 things: 1)this video doesn’t depict nearly everything that a runaway child would have to endure, but still does a good job touching on the ones that it showed like finding a place to sleep, being robbed, and feeling lonely/depressed 2)if you want to runaway because you feel you aren’t safe at home, I strongly recommend you wait at least a week to think it over before doing so. It’s a life changing decision that should be given some time. If it’s something like an abusive family or not feeling safe at home in general call the police or CPS because it’s not worth risking your life running away when there r other options as well. In this video it shows how much parents would love and miss you if you ran away but it isn’t always the case and there are so many repercussions that can happen in the aftermath of running away. Please take precautions upon precautions and if you really want to run away after the week of thinking it through make sure you find a good place to sleep where you aren’t trespassing and have as much food water and money as possible. Please please please be safe! edit: also this video is only showing that running away is something you should never do, but that is far from the truth. it is something to definitely think over and over again about, but if you really really can't find a better option then it's a possible life-saving action that can also be a bit beneficial in the future. but ig in this case of just having a little argument with parents over money and hanging out with friends one night, you should never jump to conclusions, especially of running away, and especially if your life is not in immediate danger with your guardians or other people living with you.
Yes, but it's valid if you don't have the best relationship with your parents. Like that girl's parents were strict, and it's not good to be too strict. I can see that it's affecting her. Why doesn't she have a conversation with her parents or talk to a trusted adult?
@@alexnovahickman316 Yes, running away is the last option. Communication is important, talk to them. Talk about what you want and try to compromise. But however, that won't always work because it's up to that person, you can't change other people or you might be scared of how they might react or what problems it might cause. You can also keep records if it abuse and if you think it's safe to do so, so you can report it. But however, relationships can be complicated, there might be more than one side to things, there might be different opinions or perspectives, there might be causes for problems, relationships can change, etc. And also only physical abuse is illegal and only if it's serious and a lot of people don't speak up because they might be scared or can be scared. It excludes lighter physical abuse, other forms of abuse, it's not illegal for parents to be strict or not get their children what they want, and it excludes other forms of family issues/problems, etc.

@@saintirhabor5617 wrong. They try to discipline their kids by being not too nice and not too harsh either. Kids take advantage of the fact that their parents love them and try to manipulate them. So you can't blame parents.
@@saintirhabor5617 There's no specific guide on how kids should be raised. Kids are different, they don't act the same. I feel sorry and sad for the parents every time I watch something like this. They just don't understand how their parents love them.
i blame the parents sometimes cause they don't discipline their kids properly.
Agreed, some parents neglect their children by being too nice or too harsh but most parents try really hard to satisfy their children while trying to guide them on the right path. So don't you ever *so blatantly* blame parents.
@@saintirhabor5617 you shouldn't, because they only said that so they can bond. And parents risk everything for their kids sometimes! You shouldn't blame *any* parent. And I mean *ANY* parent.
