I'm from the states and had the pleasure of visiting Rotorua in 2016. I was able to ride in the forest for 3 days. WOW! Beautiful forest, sick dirt. Greetings from St. Louis, MO.
So good to see our backyard and local characters in all its glory. 100km in the intense sun, heat and humidity we've had is hospital territory, and he's still cracking a laugh at the end.
Love how he says native forest and its a shot of Pinus Radiata! But in all seriousness awesome content, love the happy vibes and great mountain biking and showcasing the Whakarewarewa forest.
Man the most gain I've achieved in 100k is 2600m. With a gravel bike. Imagine doing it with an enduro bike optimise for down the hills. That is sick! And NZ trails are wow!
Nothing better than an epic sesh at Rotovegas! Wow I miss that place! Eagle vs Shark was such an amazing track, not very difficult, but it had so much flow. Split Enz (old and new), Rocky Horror, Billy T, I can't think of a track I didn't like. Planet Bike in Rotorua is in my top 3 bike shops anywhere, such a great family of riders and super friendly. I could easily live there, once I got used to the ever-present smell of farts.
The bike is solid and my Ebike conversion went great. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Very smooth ride at 30mph with no problems (135 miles ridden so far). The picture is a bit deceiving - there is WAY less space in the center of the frame than it shows. The suspension connection takes up the entire thing. So I needed to attach my battery on the bottom of the frame and my controller on the top. Instructions for assembly were lacking but honestly it wasn't too hard to figure out even though I have very little bike knowledge. Watched some youtube videos on adjusting the disk brakes but that was it. Still, I am loving it and very happy with the purchase.
Man, 100k on an MTB is no joke! I've done 100k on a road bike, but I usually bonk out at ~50k on a MTB although that was in one run and not spread out throughout an entire day.
Man, i miss the days where i used to make 30km/day casually. The damned pandemic left me without any endurance. This is something i thought i could try and do one day but i don't see it happening anymore, not at leas soon XD
This is so Bizzare for me, I randomly stopped at this park just to have a nosey without a bike just the other week. But unfortunatly I had no bike and am a cheap arse when it comes to hireing anything
I’m a local in the Whakarewarewa forest and it’s so cool to see a video of our forest from you guys. Thanks Pinkbike!!
Thanks Tyler! - Tom

Thanks Maaaaaaate! - Tom

Nice to see my local trails on such a big UA-cam channel! Loved the video Tom, keep them coming!
Another great video dude and all those who helped make it.
I'm always love Tom's cheerful demeanor.
Thanks maaate! - Tom
Someone give that man a raise! I’m tired just watching it. Great job man.
Great video as always!! Them trails look so flowy and dry!! Big difference from all the mud and water we get in Ireland!! 👍👍
Definitely a big difference from Ireland 🤣

Tom’s great. More Tom please.
Such an underrated rider! Tom's got everything any aspirational mountain biker wants. Great riding, Tom!
Thanks! - Tom
Great ride! That's what it's all about getting out for some laps with your pals to the max. Cheers Tom 🍻
I love all this New Zealand content even better when presented by a kiwi
Flipping Legend Tom! That was awesome again! 3300M of climbing is way legit! ([sic]From: Tom)

Tom is an absolute beast taking the super heavy Meta AM for this challenge 🙌
Toms great value!!! 👏
Tom you bloody legend. Good job

The old country!....wipes away a wee tear....ok I'm a south islander but it's all good eh 👍.....
Jeepers seeing lachy jump before the crossing of tu meke really shows how much pace you guys are carrying 😳

Nice one! 25 km is easy, you just have to do it four times... I think I could do it with three Pav stops.
Get in a hot pool Tom! Big effort!
What a great New Zealander 👌
Next time come do the Whaka 100's Miler event next time you're here Tom. Surely the race day vibes would squeeze and extra 60km out of you ;)
Kia ora. Bias Kiwi here 💙. I'm only here for the delicateness 🤣
Yeah boiiiiii. sick roto laps
Video's pretty good/10 😄
Rotorua does the best pies in the world - glad you managed one. Did you soothe your aching limbs in Kerosene Creek after your ride?

I like the thumbnail "Epic" I bet that was only epic for the first few miles until your body starts becoming exhausted. 😂 Looked fun though.
Sam cannot stop scanning that canopy. 🐦

You can do it Javier! - Tom
Hey what Commencal Meta are you riding? I have Ordered a Meta AM 29 In November. Still waiting for it 😭
Hey Thomas, nice option mine is the Meta AM 29 too, it'll be worth the wait - Tom
What a treat 🤟
We definitely should've added a "What a treat" counter to the ride "stats" - Tom
@@pinkbike Tom Bradshaw and Eddie masters should defo hit the trails up mate that would be epic yo
🔥🔥🔥
Tom, I want your energy!
I'm demolished after 20 or 30 km!!!!
Sick!
What bike are you riding for this challenge?
Penny farthing
This is so Bizzare for me, I randomly stopped at this park just to have a nosey without a bike just the other week. But unfortunatly I had no bike and am a cheap arse when it comes to hireing anything
Never new about these trails have to give it a crack some time
What is the bike
Tom did you see specialized has ripped off your rain shirt?
Tom meets his fans
Did you really climb 1000m in the second section? Or was that climbing for 1000m? Really hard to believe the first option.
Last time I road Rotorua I rode ~35k and I was smashed by the end… good on you
Cooked as m8!
All in baggies? that must've suck.
OMG... on enduro bike LOL ... from now on everything is easy
Yips gleefully
No cheese rolls!!!
Your friends better up their plate game if you're going to fuel such big rides with their contributions.
100k? that’s death🙈
Not if you eat enough pies..... - Tom
Did a 50k over the weekend dear god idk if I could go on for another 50 lol
Gravel road climbs.... does that even count? Might have well used a ebike lol. All good tho im just jealous, no gravel climbs here all single-track.
I literally can’t understand what this man is saying like half the time
FiRsT
Says "Native Forrest" shows pine trees? Wtf.
They were on their way to Kataore, which is the native trail she was referring to. There's a lot of trails through pines to get there.
@@TrailAtlas doesn't change what I said. I know the forest well, Cheers

Traveling around NZ... must be an icky vaxxie
Huge effort Tom!
