I've always woken up in the middle of the night since I was six but lately in the last year it has worsened. For me I can tell you what a good share of my problem is. Though I eat lots of fruit and vegy's and eat fairly healthy I also like my carbs & chocolate and I like a glass of wine.These are my go to things when I'm down. In addition I I snack later in the evening. I think it has become a vicious cycle with me. I know why I do this; I feel more alone and pain at night and it's like a hug. I have been an athlete my entire night but I have severe osteoathritis and CRPS and over the last decade and particularly the last year, I've been in constant pain, can no looker bike and it's bcome more difficult to walk. Thankfully yoga, prayer and meditation is a godsend. I believe if I can get back to better eating habits and sleep hygiene I will have less pain and sleep better and be less depressed. My thoughs and prayers are with you. I so relate. Namaste.

I was on sleeping pills for over 10 years and my sleep quality would only get worse while I was on the drug. I finally quit by tapering off with the help of a compounding pharmacy and it took me 5 months. It was hard at first because my sleep would cut short but it was worth it. The quality of my sleep kept improving since then. Now 14 years later, I have never been sleeping so well in my life. Sunlight and exercise also helped.
Mind controlled by who? Your health expert? Your divine biology? Your connection to the miracle of source to birth? What are scriptures anyway? You could believe in nothing and still take a look at yourself, and think wow how does this all actually work? Mesmerizing to think? Good luck thinking one is good the other evil, because if you haven't fallen for one trap, another is readily set before you. Also, the sheeple love religon, as much as they love the "experts". They might not be the same sheeple, but that doesn't matter. People receive such comfort in conforming to a belief system following those around them. Good luck to you!

I'm a nurse myself and I've worked full-time nights for over 12years, starting from 7pm working till 8am or longer sometimes. Having 2 little kids wasn't easy. My sleeping pattern is now shattered...I've developed massive issues with my health, sleep,anxiety,skin condition etc. I'm trying to reverse all that damage....

I have had severe insomnia for 43 years. I am now 75. It began when I worked night shifts for a couple of weeks and never got all right again. I( finally had a breakdown and didn`t work for awhile. When i started working again, I only worked part time due to my seep difficulties. So now my retirement income is very low and i only survive with family and government assistance. I am a Christian, but prayer did not fix me. I go to bed at 7:00 and get 2or 3 hours of sleep and then wake up. i can`t go back to sleep , so I get up and read for awhile. I return to bed but only 2 nites out of 5 do I go back to sleep for 1 to 3 hours. Also, I have now been dizzy all the time for 4 months now. The new medication for my fast heartbeat makes the dizziness worse,so I am not going to take it any more. I love to write about the Bible and God`s truth and wish I could feel better,but maybe I will die early because I can`t sleep. It seems a shame and a waste, but I and both of my sons have been attacked and almost destroyed all through our lives. Please pray for us. And thank you for your work.

Me too, until I took progesteron. Got the idea from a vid on UA-cam and asked my doctor for a prescription. I had a lot of stress at work, the body needs progesteron to make stress hormones. A lack of those makes it harder to sleep.
It’s worth to note , rewatch and wrote down notes highlights and things you need to remember you can share w family or friends. I’m adhd so I have to rewatch things. Have a happy day😊
I also have ADHD and notes do help information "stick", but most people learn and retain information best if they write it down, so don't feel that this is a flaw. Same goes for repetition. Some people comprehend quickly or can remember new information more easily, but often that's a function of how useful the info is to us, or how much we enjoy the subject, ADHD or not. For me, the ADHD part is figuring out how to implement the info in a way that I will stick with it. I often use a piece of paper taped up on a wall I will see daily or somewhere equally visible, and I write the date/time I did whatever action it is. I started a list like this to help me get in the habit of washing my dishes daily. I have so far not missed a day in 15 months, and often wash my dishes after each meal now. So in this case, I have to decide which action to start with and then keep doing it consistently until it's just a normal part of my day. Being specific, keeping a written record, and being committed to being consistent works best for me.
I have been getting up every morning at 5 :45 for work for the past 20 years and here it is 3:33 am and I’m still awake. One cup of coffee, the rest water. All my life when I see twilight, I get chills, excitement chills. The sun makes me tired. I don’t know if I’ll ever be normal.
I'm taking away a lot of information from this talk. I will be listening to it again a few times to truly absorb it. The check room is a great name Dr Barbara gave, and the dynamic of repeatedly taking oneself out of it through the night using a gratitude technique is wonderful !!! Namaste 🫶
I still find it interesting hearing stories of 2 adults sleeping habits as babies that never changed into adulthood. One person parents always made sure it was complete silence during sleep and as an adult, can't sleep unless complete silence and can wake up easy. Another person parents were musicians and always loud music in the home so decided their baby will learn to sleep during loud noise and it worked - their baby slept right thru any loud noise. Unfortunately as their baby got to adulthood, could never wake up to alarm clock because conditioned from infancy to sleep thru noise. This would make a fascinating clinical trail with infants into adulthood.
I love my insomnia I learn so much during the night. Best time in my 24 hour period. When I was younger I could go 7 nights without sleep & I did exceedingly well at my law exams.
Then of course you are familiar with "there is an exemption to every rule" She is talking to the most of us who operate on a standard circadian rhythm.
I could do the same in my younger and I was thankful. But now it is bad for me because the eyes are tired very fast. I will try Barbara's recommendations and hope for a good 7 hours sleep time.
My sleeping pattern improved when i started my day with bouncing and gardening. I sleep better now. I don't wake up to pee more than once unlike in the past,i wake up a couple of times,but my dinner is before 7.00 pm and my bed time is 10.00 pm Thank you Barbara for a great job 👍🏻

That's what my Mom always told me! "Start thanking God for things." She said she would even thank Jesus for the smallest things, like nails, screws, and bolts when she REALLY was having trouble sleeping. It has worked EVERY time to put me to sleep.
Chronic insomnia over 40 years. What I wouldn’t give for 8 hours uninterrupted sleep!!!!! I listen to Eckhart Tolle in the night. His calm voice helps me go back to sleep. I eat 100% unsweetened dark chocolate and love it.
Not a fun life if you ask me. I'm 77 and I just sleep when I feel like it. My brain is too active to shut it off. Have been this way most of my life. Staying up late with my dear grandma and grandpa as a child may have started this, but I wouldn't trade all the sleep in the world for those memories.
Progressive muscle relaxation helps when the brain is too active. It calmed my mind in less than a minute, then I would start yawning and fall asleep. It may take longer at the beginning but persistence is the key.
Today is such a different world. Shifts, stores open til late, babies awake in night, hormones, yes we can pray and God will bless. Ppl taking care of elder family members etc.
Thx for talking about this. I have done plenty of this- sunshine, hard work, exercise, blue light blocking glasses, learn new stuff, prayer, forgiveness... nothing really works. Going to sleep about 9pm makes me wake at 3am. I hope to figure it out soon.
If u want to sleep well , be nice, dont hurt other's, they wont cry to Him , 💒👣👑 & get u in troubles, & you sleep better too , not being worried about it ! 💝

I can exercise all day, go to bed at 9pm and then stay wide awake all night long. Level 10 insomnia
If you have adrenal fatigue exercise makes insomnia worse.

I have been getting up every morning at 5 :45 for work for the past 20 years and here it is 3:33 am and I’m still awake. One cup of coffee, the rest water. All my life when I see twilight, I get chills, excitement chills. The sun makes me tired. I don’t know if I’ll ever be normal.
Some people are naturally night owls. I've been like this my whole life too. Never could adjust to a dayshift schedule..

I still find it interesting hearing stories of 2 adults sleeping habits as babies that never changed into adulthood. One person parents always made sure it was complete silence during sleep and as an adult, can't sleep unless complete silence and can wake up easy. Another person parents were musicians and always loud music in the home so decided their baby will learn to sleep during loud noise and it worked - their baby slept right thru any loud noise. Unfortunately as their baby got to adulthood, could never wake up to alarm clock because conditioned from infancy to sleep thru noise. This would make a fascinating clinical trail with infants into adulthood.

I love my insomnia I learn so much during the night. Best time in my 24 hour period. When I was younger I could go 7 nights without sleep & I did exceedingly well at my law exams.
Then of course you are familiar with "there is an exemption to every rule" She is talking to the most of us who operate on a standard circadian rhythm.

I could do the same in my younger and I was thankful. But now it is bad for me because the eyes are tired very fast. I will try Barbara's recommendations and hope for a good 7 hours sleep time.
My sleeping pattern improved when i started my day with bouncing and gardening.
I sleep better now.
I don't wake up to pee more than once unlike in the past,i wake up a couple of times,but my dinner is before 7.00 pm and my bed time is 10.00 pm

That's what my Mom always told me! "Start thanking God for things." She said she would even thank Jesus for the smallest things, like nails, screws, and bolts when she REALLY was having trouble sleeping. It has worked EVERY time to put me to sleep.

Chronic insomnia over 40 years. What I wouldn’t give for 8 hours uninterrupted sleep!!!!! I listen to Eckhart Tolle in the night. His calm voice helps me go back to sleep. I eat 100% unsweetened dark chocolate and love it.

Not a fun life if you ask me. I'm 77 and I just sleep when I feel like it. My brain is too active to shut it off. Have been this way most of my life. Staying up late with my dear grandma and grandpa as a child may have started this, but I wouldn't trade all the sleep in the world for those memories.

Progressive muscle relaxation helps when the brain is too active. It calmed my mind in less than a minute, then I would start yawning and fall asleep. It may take longer at the beginning but persistence is the key.

I have done plenty of this- sunshine, hard work, exercise, blue light blocking glasses, learn new stuff, prayer, forgiveness... nothing really works. Going to sleep about 9pm makes me wake at 3am. I hope to figure it out soon.
