I love this series❤ such a simple but phenomenal idea four stories😊 and Marvin Miller was fabulous he did a lot of radio voice overs on especially on the Whistler😊
That's because the boy "Lew Conover" was portrayed by Academy Award winner Bobby Driscoll, here credited as Robert Driscoll. His is a very sad story. He was on contract with Walt Disney Studios as a young boy and starred in such movies as "Song of the South," "So Dear to My Heart," "Treasure Island," and "The Window" (a classic noir suspense/thriller from RKO.) When he went through puberty, he had very severe acne which caused the roles to dry up and Disney cancelled his contract. He managed to find some work, though, such as this role and a few other anthology TV shows until the 60's when he went to New York unsuccessfully looking for stage work. He ended up joining Andy Warhol's avant-garde art group "The Factory" to concentrate on his artistic talents. In 1968, two boys playing in a deserted tenement found his body. He had died of heart failure brought on by his use of heroin. There was no identification on the body and nobody in the neighborhood could identify him so his unclaimed body was buried in an unmarked grave in Potter's Field. A year later, they did identify him by fingerprints but his body remains in Potter's Field. A very sad story indeed. As for the story, it was written by Halsey Melone who, coincidentally, also wrote the teleplay for the episode "The Ordeal of S-38" of the 50's TV series "The Silent Service," which also featured Bobby Driscoll.
The quality of this episode from The Millionaire is exceptionally good. Wish UA-cam can lay their hands on similar picture quality for The Millionaire: Jerry Mitchell with the gorgeous star, LISA GAYE - 1960
Thanks for posting these. The son, "Lew Conover," was played by Academy Award winner Bobby Driscoll, here credited as Robert Driscoll. Also, note that the role of "Janet Conover," the new wife, was played by 37-year-old Jocelyn Brando, Marlon Brando's older sister.
I always ache for Bobby Driscoll. How badly Disney treated him...how things changed when he was no longer 'cute'. And in this episode, he shows himself to be a fine young actor, and could have gone on to....
21:28, Reel M-2 C-63, an iconic tune by William Loose (1910-1991), I met this composer in 1984, and on my 4th album, “The William Loose Songbook Album” I recorded a cover version in a “Phil Spector” style, titled “The Loose Spector Song”, and the album was released in 1999.
Marvin Miller played Michael Anthony, Paul Frees furnished the voice of John Beresford Tipton. Miller and Frees were two of the biggest voice artists in Hollywood at the time and can be heard on hundreds of films, TV shows, and commercials from that era.
James Best went into comedy parts later in his career and said goodbye to these dramatic type roles(as in this presentation) Was on the "Dukes of Hazard" and The "Andy Griffith Show" just to name a few.
1:29, & 1:41, A ZIV Sting, TC-189, from Reel S-4, used on The Untouchables, Highway Patrol, Men Into Space, and others, also heard on “Teenagers From Outer Space”. .. .. .. .. .. .
Always loved The Millionaire, from my childhood; however as an adult, with an adult perspective, why not assist orphans, unwed mothers, those on skid row/the homeless? Love the concept of giving, 'cause the reality is "you can't take it with you",. AND, "to whom much is given, much is required".
Audio level is very low to follow the epic tv serial, let me hope the uploader look in this matter, if possible. His son look aged for college &replica of middle age warren beaty. From incredible india.

A superb script wonderfully acted, especially by the son.

He was such a good looking and talented lad, so sad the way things turned out for him 🥺 R.I.P Bobby 💔 xxxx

Bobby Driscoll was always wonderful and as cute as the proverbial bug.
That your for uploading this video.
🤔I wish he'd come to my house with that check. 😳 We watched this when I was a kid. 😆 HEY AN OL MAN LIKE ME CAN DREAM, RIGHT ? 🤑🤑🤑
But what's the episode where "John Beresford Tipton" (Paul Frees) actually MEETS his client? That happened only once in the series.
the days when you invite strangers into your home

Originally telecast on September 10, 1958.
I was 10 yrs. and 2 day old.
That was deep and sad.
20:17, Reel M-8 C-70, was once a theme from “The Voice Of Prophecy”, back in the 1970’s, a 15 minutes version.
“Lief Erickson was a great actor..
21:00, that same ZIV Sting again, also heard at 1:29 & 1:41. . . . . . . . . . . .
When I was a kid .I always dream of the man coming to my door with a million dollar check.
Come to my house w/that check , what great fun i would have.
Lol Michael just gives a guy a million dollars, but makes sure he gets his pen back....
I was wondering who else noticed that nice touch.
Marlon Brando's big sister.
that I have one of those viceroy's?
In 2020, the role of Tipton has been played by Andrew Yang.
I want Michael Anthony to bring me my million dollars, I'm waiting waiting waiting waiting.

Good Ending
seems like quite a risque topic for 1958, but still a nice story...
I'm befuddled. Why give a million dollars to a man who owns his own successful business? I personally would find people who are actually in need.
1:51 Mike goes, "Why, I oughta--"
Sounds a lot like the plot from East of Eden, in my opinion James Dean's best movie.
you're welcome
$1000000 back then is 25000 now
