Craig is a class act. Worked with him years ago when I was just a newbie to comedy. He was a headliner. Was stranded and he and JP Mass had a show in Banff. Asked him if I could have some stage time. He talked to the owner and gave me a spot, $100, plate of food and a room. Found out the next day the coin came from his pocket, he gave up his food, and he slept on the floor in JP's room. One of the nicest and funniest guys in the business.
I love Craig Campbell; he engages with the audience so well. I do have one complaint, however. If you look at clips on UA-cam from 2007 to now, he does the same routine almost word-for-word. I've also seen him at Bestival and Camp Bestival every year since 2009 and he does the same routine every time. Brilliant guy, very funny. I just wish he'd do some NEW stuff. Four years seems like a long time to do one routine without any changes.
Saw him last nite at the Kings, Glasgow. Supporting Frankie Boyle. He was absolutely fantastic!!!!! Never heard of him before, but he was sooo funny ;o)
this guy is awesome :D, he should be on more UK stuff. I've only seen him on this and on Russell Howard's good news (and that was only on the extended one)
Craig Campbell is amazingly funny, is there a clip of his act on some crappy BBC Three 'comedy' show had load of other comedians on, can't for life of me remember name of show or other acts on it
Haha... saw him tonight and while it was largely the same material, he was really entertaining and sharp as a tack when a heckler decided to pipe up. I really can't understand why not much new material when he came up with such blinders off the cuff. One thing i will say is the mountain climbing story was new, and i nearly passed out laughing. Plus he met us all for pictures and handed out signed photos he'd clearly paid for himself. top guy. go see him if you can.
@tomaswright89 Yeah i was there too mate and thought the same - very very funny and he won the crowd over very quickly :D Would be nice to hear more material from him for sure as this set is pretty much the same as last nights and is 3 years old! ;) x
I love this guy - saw him supporting frankie boyle recently. However.... a lot of the material in this, is the same as the michael macintyre comedy roadshow performance he did, in 2010... and most of his warmup act for frankie was exactly the same material too. Has he got nothing new in three years?
@irishguyhere123 just got back from Frankie myself - completely agree Craig was too funny - i live in Aberddeen and his Scottish Accent was hilarious! Completely spot on haha
Honestly don't think he lacks material. He has other material as well, in fact the best one so far was the one Bears... Not laughed so hard in god knows how long. But I think he brought the best material he had that consited in the shortest amount of time for McIntyre's show. The bear one was over 7 minutes long, and was a single joke.. The best part were the last 3 minutes tho, where you die laughing.
"dont turn on the light, i still can see the shapes" - killed me totally :D :D :D :D
