First of all, love the site. And the commentaries are awesome. I believe Chinatown did not start down in Spadina area or behind city hall. Greeting. I am from Croatia and I really like Canada. I would love to live and work in Canada, and especially in Toronto. I hope that my dream will come true soon.
Better stay in Croatia. You guys have great weather and a simple way of life. Come to Canada is you want processed and imported foods, come to Canada where you and your husband will have to work full-time if you want to have a comfortable life. For a visit, okay, but meet and talk with the Croatians, Serbians, Polaks, or Albanians who know a thing-or-two about these lands.
Canada is great to visit but from my experience living here and in Toronto it is very expensive to live, work a lot of hours, very long and cold winters about 8-10 months of the year is cold and gets very boring after a couple of weeks.
That preacher man is probably as loud as he usually is, it's just that the aren't any rival proselytizers, street drummers, breakdancers or enormous crowds drowning him out like usual.
hello emperor beef, i know you may not be religious but he is doing the will of GOD, ignore the tone but listen to the message, let me tell you something everything the word of GOD prophesied to happen is already happening and much more to come. none of us has an excuse when the day of Judgment comes because we are hearing the word of Christ and we are refusing him, if God should come now and ask why haven't you accepted him is your answer gonna be because the preacher was too loud, now darling i am not forcing Christianity on you i would never do that, i can only tell you about him and encourage you to get to know him personally, i am not judging you either because none of us are perfect but same as we show respect for celebrities and many people comparing their lives to theirs and yet still they don't know us neither do they know what we are going through but yet we scream and blush over them, its the same we can show respect for GOD who loves us, knows us before we were born, knows us better than we know ourselves, and the same we need to respect for the people of GOD, and I know not all people who say lord lord will enter but at least we can listen and ask JESUS to enter our lives. i don,t know what you are going through but if you reach out he will hear, i dont know if its depression, finances, relationship but he knows he is only a prayer away honey seek him while he may be found, i know i am 2 months late but i really felt compelled to reach out and even though i am 2mnths late JESUS is always on time. stay safe, trust God, I love you but christ loves you best.
@@terenesestrachan7529 lol you no nothing about the origins of Christianity much less what "prophecies" say and who made the Bible. There is no end of the world and Jesus never taught he came to die to save anyone. Indeed Abrahamic religions are toxic and are based on fear, threatening and punishment. You go to hell if you disagree with the god of the Bible. Indeed the god of the bible almost killed Moses because he refused to cut the foreskin of his children. There are thousand of other holy books with their "Gods" why yours is special? The deity of the bible is a tribal deity of the desert of Palestine that the shepherds of the desert worshiped

I used to live here while I attended OCA in 1980. Toronto was a great city to live in during that time; the music, the arts vibe, the rhythm and the groove... man, has *that* area changed. Village By The Grange is still there, though... but... (quick Google check... DAMN!) Ginsburg & Wong is now long gone. We used to hit there after writing class on Wednesdays. It was a frequent dinner date spot as well... along with The Old Spaghetti Factory down on Front Street. Awesome 60s clothing store called Atomage at the corner of McCaul & Dundas. And the streetcars were those old, funky PCC cars, not Euro-spaceships. Excuse me... I think I'm going to go put on my vinyl 'Shuffle Demons' LP and crank it up loud. That was *my* Toronto!
I also went to OCA in 92-93. I actually slept in my car under the grange because I had no place to stay to go in Toronto. Stayed in shelters eventually. Became a graphic designer in 2002. 27 years total, and lived in so many neighbourhoods, moved back to my small hometown in southern Ontario. I miss Toronto. It’s definitely changed though.
Could be my story. First lived in T.O. in the 80s. I rememer Ginsburg and Wong. Think I went on a date there. Great old record store on that street. Was back living in T.O. in the early 2000s. Liked it better then, but glad now to be back in my hometown about 100 km away. But T.O. always a great place to visit.
A poignant look back in time. I'm so very grateful these bleak days are now far behind us. Just BTW, there's a Denny's located adjacent to the 401 in the Whitby Landmark entertainment complex if you're traveling east from TO and have a craving.
This was a great video. I enjoyed while eating my dinner. I am amazed at how clean the city looks. Pandemic or not, here in Baltimore city near me in the states is always a mess. I'd like to get to Toronto one day it looks like a nice city to visit. Not much to vlog about with a pandemic, but still a great video.
Thank you! I've never been to Baltimore but I'll have to get out there for a weekend series vs. the Jay sometime (hopefully it will be possible next year!).

Hey Nancy
How are you keeping,
Where are you from??
where did you go?
Greeting. I am from Croatia and I really like Canada. I would love to live and work in Canada, and especially in Toronto. I hope that my dream will come true soon.
Are you Is a women?
Better stay in Croatia. You guys have great weather and a simple way of life. Come to Canada is you want processed and imported foods, come to Canada where you and your husband will have to work full-time if you want to have a comfortable life. For a visit, okay, but meet and talk with the Croatians, Serbians, Polaks, or Albanians who know a thing-or-two about these lands.
Jeboti!!! This is not a place to be for long. We do have chevapi
@@sm3675 Actually a good point, if you want to live in a house. If you are okay with living in a condo or apartment, you will be fine.
Canada is great to visit but from my experience living here and in Toronto it is very expensive to live, work a lot of hours, very long and cold winters about 8-10 months of the year is cold and gets very boring after a couple of weeks.
you made me reminiscing of the days when MuchMusic was a thing. Speakers corner, oh my God; what happened to those days.
I used to hang out at electric circus and was on once. Yup those days were cool.

Cool to just walk around the city, soak up the atmosphere!
The good old days, before Covid came around. Can't wait to visit Toronto again!
Covid showed up in 2019 and is still here today, but before Covid showed up it was great.
I hope Covid goes away soon and for good.
this guys voice sounds so peaceful. could fall asleep listening to him.
Amazing knowledge of the city. Thanks for this. I'm sharing it with a lot of friends who have never been to TO.
Thank you David and that's awesome, much appreciated!
Wow this is so nostalgic and very special experience. Thanks for refreshing my old sweet memories associated with this beautiful vibrant city, few years ago. It was like a time travel when you walked through these streets, imagining myself, recollecting the lovely city and warm people there. Hope to return there some day again. Thank you so much Johnny Strides.
Thank you for introducing me to Spadina Bus! I'm usually an annual visitor to Toronto. I love this city and your videos have me longing to get back there.
My guy, your camera quality is frigging amazing, holy shit... feels like I’m there! Amazing work man, I lived up there in 2016-2019
I’m going to Toronto next week yaayyy it’s been a while since a year ago! Look forward to it!
So exciting!!! For me it’s three months !!
Watched this video for the first time. Taking walks through T.O. is one thing but the narrative is like getting glasses.
Commenting from Philippines but a Toronto resident who's stayed in the Philippines longer than expected because of the pandemic. I miss Toronto and I'm sad to have missed a Toronto Summer, but seems like it probably didn't feel the same this year.
you know what is blowing my mind, is how clean Toronto is, wow, i am held C hostage in Winnipeg and wow it is dirty in the downtown area.
Greetings from the U.K. Great video.
Beautiful and Stunning scenery.💕💕💕
it's always lovely to walk with you my friend. 👍👍👍
Thank you for sharing . happy weekend.🌼🌼🌼
Thank you so much for making this video and narrating. I'm so nervous living in America right now. Everything is so tense. Right now I'm in school for nursing and apparently Canada has a program to let American nurses work in Canada, so I would love to live there one day!
You're welcome and I hope everything works out for you down there!
Hey buddy
How are you keeping,
Where are you from??
Hello
I hope you come up here to Canada. We want nurses here for sure. You will love it. My friend recently moved back from the USA after being a nurse in the states for 10 years. She went through a lot and is happy to be back.

I moved away from Toronto 3 years ago. Now I live off grid.. totally different life. I love it. But when I miss T.O I watch your vids to get my fill..thanks buddy!
We have a Village Idiot in Cape Town too! I really enjoyed this video. Narrated is so much better than not. And you're very knowledgeable. Thanks!
Thank you for that. In the late 70s I worked at Dundas & Yonge area. There was a Sears MOB building a block down. A great Buffet place across the street. I danced on weekends at Momma G's on Yonge a few doors down from Hard Rock Cafe. Good times!
Toronto is a fine looking city...Hello from San Francisco California 🏜🏖🏞⛰🌋🗻⛲⛩🌁🌃🏙🌉🌅🌄
Great tour. I'm surprised you didn't mention the famous MASSEY HALL that was located on Shuter just off of Yonge St.
I've talked about it plenty of times in other vids :)
That was located? It still is.
These kind of videos has stolen my free time in quarantine. First time I see one narrated, and adds so much to the experiece. Now adddicted to your channel bc im a brazilian who dreams in move to Canada.
Cheers, Johnny!
Spadina Bus is by the Shuffle Demons. Remember seeing them at the Horseshoe Tavern (just to your left when you stop at Spadina and Queen in case it's no longer there). Beautiful light as the sun sets. Love seeing this summer night video on a cool "winter" night down here.
@Nino Brown Good to hear.
City Hall land use to be part of Chinatown and the city bought it up and Chinatown moved towards Spadina.Little Tokyo is mostly owned by non Japanese people.Taiwanese,Koreans and Chinese.
I have been there.. The Toronto city is really great.

Toronto was my first place outside Brazil (2004). Always a good memory. Thanks for sharing your walk with us!!
hi dear Johnny
I know this video is from a long time ago but hopefully, you check my comments and guide me
as I saw you mentioned a recorded video with DJI Osmo Pocket, but if like to ask you it was Combo or the standard one? and my second question is did you use the microphone of Ozmo or add a microphone else meanwhile you have been recording?
Thanks in advance
I don't have the combo and I always, ALWAYS use an external microphone, cheers!
I’m from jersey and frequent a lot in Philadelphia. I love Philly, but living in Toronto was amazing. One of the coolest and most clean cities I’ve ever been to. I played junior hockey up there, and it was just an amazing experiencd

Thanks Denise, glad you enjoy the videos !!! 👍
Thank you for this video ❤️ its like i am there dream country 😢 😭 🇨🇦 so beautiful
this video is so cool! I used to live in Toronto in 2014 and watching this video brings me back so many memories!
Amazing video! Your city walk truly captures the essence and vibrancy of the streets, offering viewers a firsthand experience as if we were there ourselves. The video quality is impeccable, and the stabilization is top-notch, making for an incredibly immersive viewing experience. Could you please share what equipment you use to achieve such smooth footage and vibrant clarity? Your choice of camera, stabilizer/gimbal, and any additional accessories would be greatly appreciated. Keep up the fantastic work; your videos are a joy to watch!
Hello Johnny: : I thank you very much for your videos of Toronto. I live out on the west coast and have been here for 40 years.
I am awed at the changes in Toronto.
I am especially interested in south Parkdale and would love to see videos of the side streets from Dufferin to the Five Corners
..
Thank you again for the rides and walks.
Susan
Thanks Susan and I'll see if I can get out that way this summer!
Great Channel! These will be awesome to watch again years from now.
Thank you! I hope so :)
Hey Godfrey
How are you keeping,
Where are you from??
You walked for about an hour; encountered: 1 street preacher, loud weirdy, 1 homeless person sleeping on the street. Pandemic or no, Toronto is the most un-city city all the world around! 😍
Very interesting observations! 👍
Then go back to where you come from and stop whining.
@@ruelfesalboni7444 no-one was complaining; I was actually complimenting. There are smaller cities that would have way more nuisances, homelessness and uncontrolled vices. Toronto has been one of my favourite cities in all my travels. I clicked here bc I miss it, can't get there now.
BTW, I'm Canadian and will stay here til I die.
Sorry for you if that offends you.

Whered you go
Thanks for video. May I ask something? Why streets seems more dark than sky? İs it about geographic position or recording?
First time I saw this, good view , nice province
It is :)

There are many good things about things Toronto. But having lived there for 16 years, I would hardly call it beautiful, although it does have its moments.
It depends which type of beauty you looking for? I Respect comments and feeling .

@@Sean-fg9rq If you’re OK with the weather in Chicago, Detroit or New York, you’ll be fine. Believe me it doesn’t drop 50 degrees as you cross the border.
Are there more bucktees roaming the streets now with COVID going around (possibly discharges from CAMH?), or are they just more noticeable now with less people going downtown?
