Pagod ako and i was about to rest tapos bigla akong napayoutube at napanood ko to. I am also a public school teacher.
Who's with me this 2021? After all the things happening around us nakakatuwa at nakita ko itowhile binge-watching on TED Talk . This video really touches my heart. Sobrang pure! Thank you sir for this very inspiring message to all Filipino teachers. A great video to recharge ourselves.Nakakamiss ang classroom, nakakamiss and students :(
All I can say is wow. I was deeply moved and inspired to teach better. I am currently in my Practice Teaching (4th year). And I feel so very empty and hopeless to teach children who are very noisy and wild. However, this talk made me to think that I need to try. To change. To be better. To scatter hope among my students. Happy that I've crossed in this video.
Just remember to be patient with them. Never yell or resort to abusive tactics and NEVER think that your student is dumb. The kid would have brain traumatic injury. Current study from Harvard University and Florida state shows Verbal/Emotional abuse is as bad as physical and sexual abuse.
Teachers can really make a difference. I wish you can acquire the book, Mentors, Masters and Mrs. MacGregor (Stories of Teachers Making a Difference) Compiled by Jane Bluestein, Ph.D. God bless you always.
proud teacher here....since 1997.....1 year in a small private school, 1 year substitute teacher in a public elementary school, 12 years in a far-flung barangay, on my 12th year in the central school....meron na akong tatlong medical doctors, 1 dentist, 1 lawyer, countless engineers, teachers, CPAs, and other professions...masaya ako hanggang ngayon....until i will retire...12 years na lang...matatapos ko na ang aking bokasyon bilang guro. Salamat Sir Delfin
I also told my students that younger generation are clueless.. I've asked them what do they believe in, and what are they willing to fight for,... for them to think about their purpose. A teacher who is immersed in the community are really sensible teachers.. congrats Delfin for being one..
I am very much enlightened and inspired when I listened to your speech. I realized one important thing that I am proud of being a teacher because during my student's school life whether he likes it or not. I am I part of him as a second mother .giving him good, useful, and motherly advice for his development and success. I love to serve
2022 but still watching this. It inspires me to make a try. Paano ko malalaman kung ang teaching is for me kung hindi ko susubukan. Thank you for your talk.
Amazing speech. This made me cry.I remembered the time we went to Ateneo, I felt I was in a different world too.I was studying in a public school and I was amazed how grand the school is.I dreamt of being in a top university like Ateneo.

My mom was a teacher for more than 30 years and the way I see it, the happiness that she gets from seeing her students being successful means a lot to her 😊
As a challenged student 30 years ago, this talk also made me cry. It's sad that we, "special needs" students, are not guaranteed the type of teacher we need in life, resulting in many that simply gave up.

Availed early retirement at age 54, NAWALAN AKO NG GANANG PUMASOK SA ARAW ARAW, NAPAGOD AT DID NO LONGER ENJOY MY WORK AS A PRINCIPAL, MAS NA ENJOY KO NOONG CLASSROOM TEACHER AKO, AS MASTER TEACHER
