You are the best! Clear and structured without being boring. Keep up your good work! And this is so important now when we have the nice SubD possibilites in Alias.
Hi there Tomas! Hope you are doing well. Thank you! It means a lot hearing this from you. I just wish I had some extra spare time on my hands, so I could create more of these videos. Hopefully soon!
Sure - the Transform Tool can be found in the Palette under the "Transform" tab. Here is the offcial documentation on how it works: knowledge.autodesk.com/support/alias-products/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2021/ENU/Alias-Tool-Palette-Reference/files/Transform-palette/GUID-219A81F7-3AE4-4A1F-8173-B1FB605A881D-html.html And here is a video I made on it a while ago, but it has been modified since: ua-cam.com/video/I8KKrm45jlQ/v-deo.html
If I remember correctly I snapped the pivot to the bottom of the canvas image, and then I used the legacy Scale Tool, not the Transform Tool to scale the canvas plane. You'll find it in the Palette under the Transform tab.
I am new to alias and I am trying to resize the canvas image but for reason it is not resizing I don’t know what am I doing wrong. Feel so stupid but please help.
Do not feel stupid. It is probably due to a bug in Alias, where you can't resize certain objects (planes for example) using the new Transform Tool with Global Mode. Open up the settings window for the tool you are using, and change from Global to Pivot mode. Or simply use the old legacy Scale Tool, by way of Palette > Transform > Scale. Here is another video of mine where you can learn more about the Transform Tool. ua-cam.com/video/I8KKrm45jlQ/v-deo.html
I’m just learning Alias and so far good but from time to time the world rotating goes crazy and it starts snapping everywhere. This happens with the Wacom. Anybody knows what’s going on?
Hello, In Alias the camera orbits around the point of interest, which you in turn can snap to objects by left clicking, while tumbling the view, when holding ALT+SHIFT. It might be that you accidentally snapped the POI to a random surface (far away) and the camera therefor spins around in an unexpected and uncontrolled manner. Here is a link to the Point of Interest documentation, where you can learn more about it. knowledge.autodesk.com/support/alias-products/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2018/ENU/Alias-InterfaceGeneralTasks/files/GUID-68469FF9-F46B-4AE4-B1C6-AA284FDD1635-htm.html It also helps to toggle from Perspective to Orthographic mode. Then the camera movements are more predictable and less dramatic. Hope it helps!
Really liked your tutorials. They are the best for someone starting SubD from scratch. Can you tell me how can I customize my spider menu in SubD workflow? Since the editor option doesn't appear there.
Thank you! First make sure that you are in the Subdiv Workflow - Preferences>Workflow>Subdiv. Then open up the Marking Menu Editor - Preferences>Interface>Marking Menu. From there you are able to customize the Subdiv Marking Menu, just like you would the default one. The same goes for Shelves which are unique to each workflow. Hope it helps!
@@polygonpudding Thanks for the response. But I have already tried it and am facing problem assigning the tool into the box of Marking Menu. Seems the prefs are corrupted. Can you tell me how to resolve this problem ?
@@pranjalshakalya4201 It might be that the prefs are corrupted as you suggested. To eliminate that possibility you should open a session of Alias with the default preferences. Just to see if the problem persists. Try that and let me know if it worked. Otherwise I can help you with further troubleshooting.

@@polygonpudding so much appreciate for replying so quick ,thank u~
just a quick on I need a workstation, what would you recommend for Alias, just the middle of the line one, not the top but not the bottom to
I need tips for how you scale the canvas by just keep the bottom side and make it as a point while scaling.
If I remember correctly I snapped the pivot to the bottom of the canvas image, and then I used the legacy Scale Tool, not the Transform Tool to scale the canvas plane. You'll find it in the Palette under the Transform tab.
hello sir, can you make a video for modelling airpods case as well
That is a good suggestion. I will add it to the list of tutorial ideas.
Really good tutorial and thank you.

Fantastic video, but when I’m in box mode and it’s not selected I can not see it ?
I am not quite sure I understand the problem you are encountering. Do you mean that entire objects disappear when you deselect them while in box mode?

Hello,
I am not quite sure how to answer that question. What are the extra steps you are referring to?
