I like how they call it radio edit as if radio stations are actually playing this 😒. Which is a shame because this is one of the most lit songs she has released in years.

nikos kakaris I disagree. The album came about from her experience of being away from home in Portugal. The lyrics of Crave really reflect this. My interpretation of the song is about her longing for someone back home whilst she’s out there feeling lonely 😊

HELLO!!!!! There is something going on here and I don't understand it and nobody is talking about it. How did Madame X only sell 95,000 units its first week when there seems to be more people than that here on youtube praising the album? I realize it debuted at #1 and that few artists really SELL alot of records anymore but still. AND GET THIS....IT DROPPED 95% ITS SECOND WEEK WITH SALES OF 5,900. How is this possible when she has millions of social media fans? I think it's because she gets ZERO radio airplay these days and secondly because the wrong songs have been chosen as singles. IMO Medellin is one of, if not, the worst lead single of her career. She made this complex, experimental, beautiful, genre bending album and someone has decided to go with the safest, most radio friendly songs as singles, why. Medellin's sound is late to the party and Crave is not different "enough" to stand out on radio. Most of the reaction videos on youtube show Faz Gostoso as immediately likable, different from anything on radio and a standout. Crazy is sooo catchy and she sings in 2 languages and is different enough from the mainstream. Bitch I'm Loca is the song with Maluma that would have been the hit they wanted Medellin to be. Batuka is great, different and dramatic. I am just trying to say, why make this different sounding album if you're not going to push its different sound? She could have stood out and been on the leading edge again but they went safe. I Rise is incredible but why didn't radio start playing it immediately? It's so beautiful and dramatic and timely. Radio programmers don't really exist anymore, it's all corporate owned stations playing the same songs. I can literally turn on the radio in my car and listen to the 3 iheartradio owned stations playing the same song at the exact same time. What happened to the dj's who used to try and be the first to "break" new hits? They're gone, so instead of getting new Madonna music we get to hear a year old Ariana Grande song played every hour, or Drake or Ed Sheeran for the bazillionth time. It infuriates me. Ok, I will stop. PLEASE let me know what you think and if you agree. Thanks!!

The main reason for weak sales or views / listens is because the mass society today is pretty simple. Madonna makes intelligent innovative pop music, most millennials from my experience listen to monotonous computer generated noise that loosely resembles music or singing. Madame X is a mature album like Erotica was, it takes a few listens to get into. The super PC correct mad World we live in is too afraid to listen outside the norm view point. Madonna has always pushed boundaries and used irony and juxtaposition in her lyrics / songs. Her variety of music over the last 36 years is immense. No other female artist in the last 30 years comes close. We live in a throw away instantly forgettable society now with people with attention spans of a nat. Madonna doesn't need large sales anymore her tours sell out world wide and make millions. She has set a legacy that will likely never be eclipsed.
Madame X is ultra-contemporary, packed with variety and totally unlike anything she has done before

You lose the element of surprise by removing the choir and her angry mumbling at the start. That’s the part that really forces you to carefully listen to what she’s actually saying...that’s what gets the message across.

You're absolutely correct, the intro is needed. If any editing is needed it would be repetitive parts like the choir or the talking parts. Not that I don't like them cause I love the 6 minutes version. But I guess we'll have to wait to see if the video is going to be an edit.
FirstYT40 A radio edit for sure could lose most of the choir bit during the transition...I find myself skipping through it a lot of times or losing focus. For the video though I hope it’s not edited...I’d never protest 6 whole minutes of seeing Madonna! 😉

They need to cut the intro for radio. its too long and redundant. The decision was the same for Hung up cutting he bass orgy segment towards the end.

Brings back memories to the NYC Pride March back in 2019. I remember being in the huge crowd of everyone and just hearing this song blasting throughout the street. Everyone was just having fun and dancing. This song is so relevant and important today

Aside from the Billboard Awards where she should had been honored with the Icon award, she barely promoted it on US TV or radio stations with performances or mini promo tour like she did with Music, American Life, CODF, Hard Candy. She released it & jumped right into rehearsals for her theater tour.

Its just a radio edit. Typically meant to service radios. There's been no mixing, they just cut out the intro to make it under the 4 minute mark.
The intro is fine, and you can still listen to it on the album cut. nothing to fret about.

I´d say this is one of the standout tracks on the album, but yes, I agree most of today's younger listeners cannot truly appreciate this kind of music. Just as I could not listen to everything the older generation listened to when I was a teenager. So, perhaps it's only natural. And as it is mostly the teenagers who "decides", no wonder we don't see Madonna in the charts anymore. Plus the problem with the radios refusing to play her music (anyone any idea why? Even older artists get played, why not her?) and the remaining fans are getting older and spend their time and money elsewhere, I guess :).
