Fascism is inherently self-defeating. It's the reason why USA, India, Brazil, and Russia lead the world in total cases and deaths in the pandemic; they have fascist-leaning authoritarian leadership. The 14 characteristics of fascism is a well-documented and generally a pretty good way to identify fascist-leaning people.
"When you tell people the odds are against them, they don't even try" - more projection. In my experience and that of most left-leaning people I've spoken with, finding out the system is rigged against you is the spark that ignited our desire to be politically active and fight for change.
For some, but not nearly enough. We need millions. And sadly most of the country is stuck in the past and thinks fascism of all things needs to be a thing again.
Exactly. Most leftists don't start out thinking the system is rigged. They experience it regularly, or they hear testimonials of people who've experience it.
When they tell people "look at this guy from your supposed out-group---he made it, and so could you if you just PULLED YOURSELF UP BY YOUR BOOTSTRAPS" is the most insidious and harmful lie of all. Especially because it comes from the dude selling you better bootstraps.
Tbh it sounds like you're just taking an interest and asking questions than making it your business. That actually works really well when forming relationships with people.
My French teacher from Freshman year was a Proud Boy. He resigned right before our second semester exam; Called our High School (about 60% right-wing, 40% left) a “breeding place for liberals; Had a blog where he talked about how he *pulled the plug on his sister because he heard her voice in his head*; Resigned by a youtube video where he drunkenly rambled; and threatened to come back to campus during exams with a gun… Fucking terrifying :,D
not so. the Dionysian mysteries actually focused on removing restrictions on sexual behaviour, and in fact, slaves, the poor, women, men, and wealthy were all considered equal in the cult of Dionysus. Each meeting would have a couple of different roles who lead the procession of the meeting, but this would rotate, and the bullroarer for example couldn't set cult policy or lay down proclamations, but just lead the worship. The cult was considered so Destabilizing and Dangerous to the well being of Athenian society that Athens tried to Outlaw participation in the cult...and when that failed, the co-opted it, made it an official part of Athenian religion....so that they could effectively regulate and control it. Cult meetings seem to have mostly consisted of getting crossfaded as fuck, having lots of wild sex, and marching through the woods singing.
@@chavaspada You're entitled to your preferences in Greek Gods, but given the research I've done into the practices of Dionysian Mystery cults...Dionysus is my favourite of the Greek Gods. Getting high on psychedelic wine and marching naked through the forest with your congregation singing songs and dancing? a place where, man , woman, and slave were all equal in the presence of this ancient wine god. Intoxication and pleasure as spiritual experiences? Hell yea.
Perhaps related to "Schrodinger's Douchebag" as coined by Innuendo Studios, that being someone who tells offensive jokes and decides if he was serious based upon the reaction he gets.
Not trying to throw any shade, but that the phrase "Schrödinger's X" extremely overused and has next to nothing to do with Schrödinger's cat (which is an extremely flawed thought experiment to begin with) Not trying to offend anyone or diminish how good the video was, just saying that the phrase is kinda shit.
Hey there. One of the "good" black people here. You know, child of immigrants (they became citizens through military service back when that was a thing), did well in school, graduated from the Naval Academy, served in the military, married my childhood sweetheart, owns a business that employees people. All the things that put me on the right side of the so-called bell curve. I'd like to take a moment and point out how much INSANE racism I've put up with over the course of my life. I faced a never-ending barrage of racial slurs in grade school because kids couldn't tell my race; as such I've heard slurs directed at black people, Asian Indians, Arabians, Mexicans, and Caribbeans (which is where my family is actually from). Don't even get me started on what things were like once I started dating my red-haired, green-eyed, fair-skinned girlfriend! I used to get randomly pulled over by police, too. I'm too old and too bald for that to happen now, but when I was younger I got pulled over by a cop who approached the passenger side of my car and asked my wife if she was "okay". She was confused, but I knew what was going on so I kept my hands on the wheel, eyes forward, and said nothing. He left without even asking for my license. I should mention that both my wife and I were amazingly well-dressed because we were returning from a night at the FREAKING SYMPHONY and I STILL didn't get a pass. So that's the funny thing about racism. You can talk about bell curves and outliers all you would like, but it's all bullshit. When it comes down to it, racism = prejudice, and nobody stops to gather evidence before taking their hatred of a demographic right down to hatred of the individual. In many cases, the hatred of the individual DEFIES all evidence of them being one of the "good" ones, because all the racism I endured from my peers came despite my amazing grades, being a track star, and running the Community Service club. That is what makes groups like the Proud Boys so terrifying to someone like me. COVID aside, which keeps us all from going out of doors, my head is constantly on a swivel when I'm in public with my attractive, successful, white wife. I am, in reality, the worst nightmare of these Fascists: the child of legal immigrants who consumed resources (including my wife, who they definitely view as a "resource" to be had) that SHOULD have been reserved for someone of a better race. I constantly worry how their anger will manifest, especially as I become older and less capable of defending myself, regardless of my martial arts and military training (no, I'm not going to carry a gun in public). It's really hard for me to see these groups storming our nation's capital FULLY READY AND EQUIPPED to take Congressmen and Senators hostage and seeing that the response from our nation's defenders is relatively passive and reserved. Imagine if the events in D.C. had been perpetrated by black or Hispanic people; the situation would likely have been a complete bloodbath. But these angry white guys get a pass because, you know, they always do. I don't know how you stop them. Those in positions of authority -- police, military, government -- aren't just sympathizers, they are active members.
I think the way to stop them is to get more minorities into the government. That's why so many liberals celebrate it, and the right-wingers who say, "What's the big deal?" don't understand this side of the story. Thanks for posting your experience, btw.

Western culture is based largely on ancient Roman culture, call me crazy, did they have a lot of gay sex? Would love to see a gay gladiator face alpha male Gavin.
@@chelebeaqueen yes but western culture has traditionally not viewed gays as equals. Why be so adamant about preserving a culture that has traditionally been hostile to your members? They want to have and put western culture on this pedestal without having any critical outlook on its study. WildeMike49 To put it in the fewest words : Communism is a system with the goal to fulfill human needs. Unlike capitalism which has the goal of maximising profits for the winners of the market competition game (with unfair competition being accepted too !). How communism is structured ? We don’t even know... Marx had an idea, others had other ideas, I have a general idea...
@@WildeMike49 A communist *society* is a classless, stateless, moneyless society. There is no ideal but those three principals are the defining factors of a communist society. In the process of communism at least in a communization framework which is what I use - the process of revolution would involve abolishing all forms of oppression which is the core objective as the proletariat is the class of the oppressed. The proletariat includes everyone who is forced to be exploited through labor, the disabled, LGBT, women, etc. With that objective in mind, one must then analyze everything that can create oppression. The process of communization would involve looking through each social construct (gender, money, family, etc), institution (banks, companies, etc), and system (state, capitalism, land ownership, etc) and decide what must go, stay, and change. Once the capitalist class is eliminated in addition to all oppressions, the proletariat will too dissolve resulting in a classless society. The rest (money and state) should have already been removed by then. The abolition of these things does not mean there will be nothing in place. See, in the past - its fair to say that no primitivist could have imagined feudalist social constructs, institutions, or systems, or for a feudalist to imagine capitalist social constructs, institutions, or systems. Therefore, it is not easy to imagine what social constructs, institutions, or systems would be in place under communist conditions. Note that I detailed the communization theory. There are many other sects of communism as well; Marxist-Leninists, Council Communists, etc. Where we divide in theory we can unite in openness and criticism. Just that I'd add this part.
@moises martinez oh! Sorry for replying late, but the proud boys attempted to organize a rally in Washington D.C. to protest Donald Trump losing the election. Naturally, D.C anti fascists organized to counter protest. The proud boys got cocky and broke off from their police protection and attempted to charge the counter protesters. However, they didn’t realize that they were vastly outnumbered so antifa surrounded them and just beat them the fuck up. Also, regular citizens of D.C. joined in, evidently wanting to keep the Proud Boys from fucking up their city. The police couldn’t break through the counter protesters, and the Proud Boys ended up running away with their tails between their legs. They got back onto their busses and left D.C.

Mussolini was mostly a puppet of mid level fascist leaders who could not completely get along with one another but agree upon his leadership.

For some, but not nearly enough. We need millions. And sadly most of the country is stuck in the past and thinks fascism of all things needs to be a thing again.

Historically, cults have always sought to put some kind of restriction on sexual behaviour
Yes because the horny has always looked like something you should supress to gain power throughout history
not so. the Dionysian mysteries actually focused on removing restrictions on sexual behaviour, and in fact, slaves, the poor, women, men, and wealthy were all considered equal in the cult of Dionysus.

Agreed. I am so using this phrase.

Perhaps related to "Schrodinger's Douchebag" as coined by Innuendo Studios, that being someone who tells offensive jokes and decides if he was serious based upon the reaction he gets.
Not trying to throw any shade, but that the phrase "Schrödinger's X" extremely overused and has next to nothing to do with Schrödinger's cat (which is an extremely flawed thought experiment to begin with)
Not trying to offend anyone or diminish how good the video was, just saying that the phrase is kinda shit.
Here in September 2023. Leader of Proud Boys sentenced to 22 years in prison!!!! Yeah!!!!

People, mostly white people, don't want to hear that the alt-right are fascistic (not all of them have a coherent political ideology, but they all tend in that direction) because they feel moved by some of the things the alt-right say. This is because they use a lot of labor rhetoric: they're always going on about "the elites" and "globalism" and such. Especially working class, and middle class folks (who usually want to think of themselves as working class) can have trouble not being sympathetic to that kind of talk unless they have done some thorough studying of the Holocaust recently. @Andre Knowledge357 Leave and never come back.
@Andre Knowledge357 you don't actually wish to engage in discussion when your every statement is whataboutism, you are just revealing very clearly a nerve got struck within you and you are now lashing out angrily. Self reflection is important, but i am sure a logical boy like you knows that. 😘
Yes, I'm a proud boy. Gay pride that is.
I just need to say you have really cool nickname.
Hey so what would an ideal communist state look like? Asking cuz earnestly curious.
WildeMike49
To put it in the fewest words :
Communism is a system with the goal to fulfill human needs.
@@petrfedor1851 Thanks, it is a shame that I actually wanna change it lol :/
Because I find the word "soviet" larpy.
Who else is coming here after the Proud Boys got their sad asses handed to them by counter protesters in DC?
It didn't end as expected. The national guard were the antifascists.
On that day I was actually in German Class just minding my own Business (btw we were in Virtual Learning at the time) and My teacher got a notification on his phone telling him that a bunch of people were storming the capital and to stay out of the streets (he lived in DC) so it was extremely awkward trying to finish the rest of class as if a literal coup wasn't happening outside of our teachers house.
