I have been a follower since... 2017, I think: one of the many who got the channel to its 1M milestone. It just never gets old, and they helped me find a lot of people who can use help in taking in rescue animals like Takis from Greece.

"She has this thing, where she tries to give you the paw" - Probably abandoned and when she met you she tried her best to please you by doing what she was trained before and what she thought was pleasing to humans.
When dogs put their paw on you, or try to, its a sign of affection and trust! Kinda like their way of petting us back (: Some dogs also do that air paw thing as a way of asking to be petted. Either way its a sign of friendliness and trust.

Why is it that the most gentle and best of dogs always end up with the mange or other physical issues? And why can't something be done about the people who put these beautiful souls out on the street to fend for themselves? Both of these dogs are sweethearts who just want to be loved unconditionally! I'd never be a good foster mom as every single cat or dog I fostered would end up being a fail when I decided to make them permanent members of my family! I'm thrilled both of these babies are now in their forever loving homes! 💕💕
People saying "why didn't they adopt them together...?" Guys...don't you see how sick this dog was...took them 6 months of constant care to make her healthy again...small guy wasn't sick. Be thankful they both get to have a nice life after what they've been through.

Do you even see how sick it was in the time they adopted the little guy...even if they wanted to adopt him, i'm pretty sure they would not be allowed to...this dog needed a strict care and someone to watch him almost 24/7 during his recovery, atleast to me it seems like it...i don't blame anyone in this video, both of them had a happy ending and it's all it matters to me.

I hope she got to visit her best friend, Hugo, at times. After all they were there for each other when times were tough. I can just picture them seeing each other again after all that time, it would be wonderful!

It is sad, but it was necessary. Hugo would've been much sadder if he was locked up in a small space with her for 6 months while she was getting her treatment. Plus its much harder to adopt out pairs of dogs. I'm just glad they both got nice, loving homes.

I think so too. We have been blessed with two Pyrenees in our lives and there is just no more gentle dog than a Pyrenees!

I think it's not a pyrenees but a central asian shepherd, or alabai. They look quite similar

I would have as well but having said that costs are going through the roof as the dollar goes down. I walk dogs Monday through Friday in Washington DC and there will always be the dog that moves away etc. but they seem to act like they live to enjoy each day and
if a long time dog is no longer there they adapt better than people do and still have fun.

I Love seeing these poor dogs in the "Before and After" photos and it looks unreal or Photoshopped, because you can't tell it's them! Especially those poor dogs that are so emaciated they look like a skeleton and dead and then you see them so beautiful and well cared for and fed and loved!

So cute. I am very glad they're off the streets and have loving homes and good health. I have 4 dogs and have rescued 3 of them off the streets and adopted one. There's a dog behind my work that me and a coworker are working on getting to come to us right now so we can rescue him too. I couldn't imagine spending money on a dog when so many out there need a home and some love.

Do it yourself. I used to foster, but trust me, all the dogs I had, and I had over 20, I only really saved 2. The 2 I kept. Every dog I adopted rehabbed, cared for, brought to the vet, trained - it just displaced some other dog somewhere.
Still, it's rewarding. Doing fostering, taught me a TON about the animals. I had a network of people that were FANATICS about the dogs. They were well skilled and knowledgeable, and I became well skilled and knowledgeable as a result.
But when I had my dogs down, after 16 years, just cracked me. Can't do it anymore. Some people can move on, but I'm not ready to do it.

The rescue probably tried as best they could to make sure they were sent to the same home, but this guy above is right.
He got his friend onto a better deal, so that's something. It's not just about having friends, it's about looking after them.

Many people like to imagine happy endings where they stick together, but adopting out two dogs is difficult, throwing in that she is so large makes it near impossible. Dogs are very good at adjusting and just as we sometimes part ways with life long friends and find happiness again, so too did these dogs. A happy home is a gift many dogs never get, luckily both of these two found theirs.

Wow. This one made me tear up a bit and I said Aww a million times. As soon as I saw Elsie and especially when I saw her eyes I just saw a truly beautiful soul. The 6 months later reveal made me Aww even more. She's such a beautiful puppy girl. She's a true gentle giant. I love how she always shakes the paw. It's the cutest thing. I can't wait to eventually begin looking into adopting a more senior dog from a no kill shelter. Kind of find one who really needs a soul to bond to and because they're older they're not really adopted because families are looking for younger dogs so that they have them as a family member for a lot of years. I want one that's say 8 or 9 and I can give them a good life and a happy home and have a companion I can pet and love on until they ultimately do the "Sigh, Dad..I love you and I know you love giving me love but give me a break" lol. I want one who needs that and will be a companion for me to spoil and make happy as they truly deserve it.

In 2015 (7&1/2 years ago) we adopted an 8 yr old girl not knowing she was a "senior" dog. No accidents in the home. Such a good girl. Just recently she has stiffness in her legs and takes short walks, but with good food and supplements she's doing great!
Hugo being adopted without her really hurts. You can just tell Hugo misses her.

I’m from Romania and there are tons of stray dogs on the street with no hope of anybody caring for them. Even in big cities there are still strays and most of them just gets killed at a shelter. I’m very great-full for people like them that bring a stray dog in their home. We need more people like this in the world especially in places where strays are at an all time high.
So sad, why people would abandon such a friendly, gentle and loving dog. Good S/ he had found a good loving owner. Hope they would fight all the odds and may their life be filled with joy and Prosperous. Thanks for being so kind to animals. God bless you.

Isn't this channel the one that edits the videos? It was obvious to me the original video was heavily edited, the women's words in the beginning part & in the end were often cut off or not naturally flowing. Maybe it's not their fault the end video looks like this. And The Dodo usually uses flashy titles to attract viewers but the content is not always what the title implies. I think the channel should assume responsibility for this, not the people who simply send in the footage.

Yeah I think when the new owner says "She is so perfect!", she's with the right owner.
Absolutely. One of our fosters was scared of literally everything. When she met her new owners, she tried to escape the little area we’d made ourselves in the petsmart. We got her back and I was afraid her owners would change her mind and the only thing they said when they were petting her was “oh she’s the sweetest thing”. They didn’t care at all that she was so skiddish..
When I want to cheer up or feel good immediately I watch these stories.
