I’m the caregiver for my dad who has Lewy body dementia, it’s tough 😔. I keep him active and it’s doing wonders! A healthy lifestyle is key

Thank you for the video. While trying to fix my health, I read Grain Brain as well as others. My doctors were little help. No pill, no help. You mentioned an updated book, so I will check that out. I used to diagnose and trouble shoot systems and applied that to my studies. I repaired two issues (years apart) with diet. Last year, I finally figured out I had leaky gut and fixed it in 90 days by limiting lectins. 20 years of hives, fixed in 90 days. My doctor was amazed because they know little about nutrition. It could be that some ingredients react with one another to repair or destroy, and testing one without the other doesn't lead anywhere. I will look at what Max has to say about food and perhaps change my diet once again.

This is what I've been doing since my own mother's diagnosis in 2010. My business, Brain Health Matters, was created just to promote prevention and early intervention because Alzheimer's and many other forms of dementia can not only be prevented, they can be reversed. But it takes a lot of work, dedication, and QUALITY information. We can do this!

My mom was diagnosed with AD a few months ago, and put on Aracept by her neurologist at UCSD. Never in a million years would I have thought to question that. My Dad passed away from vascular dementia (complications from) as well. I assumed I was doomed. I can’t wait to watch your film - thank you both! So much!

My mom has vascular dementia and I’ve been using art to help me come to terms with what is happening. It’s a tough journey although it has also started me on a health quest. Thank you both for your work, which I follow closely. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Have you started her on a regimen to help reverse it? This is one type for which there are many avenues to reversal, if it's not too far advanced.

@@KateKunkelshe’s not interested in doing anything about it. Even 2 years ago I couldn’t get her to change anything, also not with the help of an integrative doctor.

Thank you so much for discussions of this sort. I opted to try to change to a whole food, plant based lifestyle but don't have anybody close who is interested in doing the same. Listening to these types of talks really helps to reinforce my resolve.

LBD is an incredibly difficult dementia because it's a double whammy. It affects you physically and mentally so managing it is doubly challenging.

My mother was just diagnosed with Alzheimer's. I have always thought it is the diet/ food we eat. Heartbreaking.

Dr. Perlmutter, with regard to the mouthwash study and diabetes, I wonder whether the researchers considered an alternative hypothesis about why the risk increased with increased use.
Personally, I think they should rule out the effect, if any, of artificial sweeteners on the oral microbiome. Could swishing around a mouthwash with artificial sweeteners adversely impact the microbiome in the mouth, or contribute to impaired glucose metabolism in the brain?
In my case, I started making my own mouthwash and toothpaste once I made the connection between using commercial brands and rapid reactivation of HSV1 on my lips.

Dr. Perlmutter, did you say “Donepezil”? Could you tell me where I can read about the findings about this drug? My sister, who was diagnosed 3 yrs. ago with early onset Alzheimer’s (she’s now 69) has been on this drug for 3 yrs. now. I’d be very interested to read more about research available. Thank-you!

What do you think of the cgrp agonists for migraine? I had a severe reaction in 2020 that put me in bed for 9 months. Brain hasn't been the same since.

It appears to be an interview about the film-at least so far.
