Yes to all of what you said. I think the rivers are that color from the sediment in the melting glaciers. The whole area is a bustling tourist region with lots of diverse people coming and going. It's still a great place to visit and most of the hiking trails are fairly uncrowded. Thanks! - Henry

Love your Switzerland video’s - thank you for your time making these! But one request: you seem to (almost knowingly) avoid any details; when approaching a shop, a flowerbed, ordinary Swiss people at work (building, waiting with their horse-drawn carriages, anything...) your camera turns away. Now you have me really longing to go back there again, and see for myself.
Having seen your whole video - as said before: now I have to go to Switzerland again... - the river is the Aare. Starts in the Alps, enters the Brienzer See at Brienz, goes through Interlaken, into the Thuner See, which it leaves at Thun. On the Swiss-German border it joins the Rhine, which eventually ends in the Dutch delta. Part of the Rhine passes through my hometown Rotterdam, on its way to the North Sea. Thanks again for this enticing walk, and for making me remember the beautiful colour of the Aare, also to be seen in your walk through Bern.
