be sad to see Jason go , can still remember him racing in the blue & yellow Laguna , great times 👍
Wow yes, heady times
Excellent to see all this extra UA-cam content from BTCC. Keep it coming!!
These two people in this clip, for me are the best at what they do and are real characters!
The guys a legend the haters out there who say differently can’t argue he’s been a major part of this series for years be a great shame to see him leave 🥲
Come on JP get that 100th win 🙌
He has brought a couple of manufactures to the BTCC too, so he has been a big part of the series in the last 10 years, i am just sorry that the last couple of years, the deals are not out there now for him, but then again we are not getting any new teams coming up in the ranks now. Been a couple of years since we have had a new team join, all the remaining teams seem to be pushing 3 to 4 cars now.
@@procta2343 NAPA Racing are new this year ( although the Ford Focus ST has been about a little while )
@@robsmall6466 team motor base with a new sponsor
@@procta2343 At least the livery is nice and new 😅
Every time I watch BTCC, my first thought is “Where’s Jason? “ that says it all!
Me too
Jason Plato..... Love him or hate him, he is box office!
Great to see Plato full of beans and clearly loving it again
Jason is a legend, and judging by last weekends performance, still has the speed. Would be great if he could sign off with a podium at some point this year, or even a cheeky win. Long may he enjoy his BTCC retirement and look forward to seeing him competing in other series in next few years. Top bloke. And should also consider more TV work, he's ideal for it.
Met Jason at Ascari in Ronda, Spain...His Chevy Cruze era when the 'team' was being handedover to its new owner. What an absolute gentleman. We spoke for a good 10 minutes. Maybe as I was sat in a 1962 3.8 OTS E Type...(Not mine by the way)...Anyhoo a privilege to have spoken to him..
Well he’s got the podium now, hopefully he’ll be able to snatch a win before the year is out
I prefer BTCC to Formula One and Jason has kept me interested for years I wish him luck in whatever he decides to do he’s a character and all sports need characters
One of the most underrated British drivers of all time. Would be nice to see him in the front of the pack banging door handles this season.🏁
Thx for posting this.
Glad Jason is back & hope this season allows him to grow up; enough to go to LeMans
Great to see Jason return to BTCC. It will never be the same without him.
Always liked Plato, pure commitment and has a opinion that i respect. Sad day when he moves on to other things.
The nicest thing I've seen on youtube in a full month.
Jason looks much younger here suddenly, the shave and haircut has taken 20 years off him. Great chap, love everything he does.
I am same age as Plato and followed his career since he sat in the Williams car park to get his first drive. Not many characters left in the BTCC. Jason and Tiff were in the best car show on TV, fifth gear such a shame its almost dissappeared. Steve Ryder looks well for his age, it will be a sad day when these 2 retire.
go on Jason. :-) lets see those wins!
awesome video
A legend
Plato in LeMans...Oh Yeah....!
Yes please!
Love to see him in GT3 Racing, British GT maybe.
Great guy and a great driver. BTCC will be poorer without him.
Age shouldn't be a problem. My boss is still racing gt's in the ELMS. And he's in his mid 50's. I reckon thats this boys next venture. Im sure he would do well in any sort of gt car.
Jet plane flies over. Jason "that's never going to go electric"
shame for him to call time on his time in the btcc, but i am not surprised. As he said, there are not the teams now that he can do the deals with sadly, like he has done in the past. Be nice to see him get his wins and get the 100 and even get more. Maybe even get the independence title.
steve ryder looks good for 72
What will Jason Plato do wen he finished Driving cars
Yeah this is the last btcc race for Jason Plato before he hangs up his helmet for good
Plato looks older than Our Man Ryder in fact Plato was banging touring cars doors when Jesus was a lad
👊✌
Yeah, a character in BTCC but he sees himself entitled.
No Steve you don’t speak for everyone, ask Senna Proctor how he feels…….
That's motor racing. Senna only got the chance last year because of what happened with Crees after all. He's young enough that he's got plenty more opportunities yet. Plato getting a proper farewell and a crack at 100 wins is good for the series overall IMO.
