You are right Sarah. The quality of the music through the 70s and 80s will arguably never be repeated. It really was a great time to be starting your teenage years in the early 70s if you loved music.

I have this concert (Live By Request) on DVD. Yes the music was fantastic, but my favorite part was when Billy Joel called in to ask Robin something about his (Billy's) ex-wife Christy Brinkley back when they were neighbors LOL The audience reacted, the brothers reacted..... it was hilarious!!! Robin handled it beautifully but I'm not so sure I believe him hahahahahhaa
Robin did handle that accusation pretty darn well & they all chuckled over it....but believe Billy said it was his first wife, & Christie was his second🥰!

I'm 60 and have listened to them forever and had never heard that song until yesterday and it's amazing. I didn't know that it was them that sang Run To Me. It's crazy how many songs and sounds and genres they have. 21 albums are a lot though.
@@SarahDengler Yes they broke up for about 18 months. Ego's got in the way (Barry and Robin) poor Mo was stuck in the middle. Barry and Robin both wanted to be the lead singer. There is a documentary on HBO called How to mend a broken heart that gives their story.

Already in the middle of 1970 the dispute between the brothers could be settled and it came to a reunion of the band. Robin went after the break solo, Barry made something with Maurice. they had troubles bc of lead singing, they were in the twenties, each had an ego and people around told themthey should go solo.

I would say they are the best sibling group, but then again there are the Jacksons, the Osmunds, The Carpenters; just to name a few more, that just have that inate ability to harmonize perfectly.

Also I am a big Mo fan so check out Man in the Middle where he sings about his addiction and his role in the group. Also Nights on Broadway on the MIDNIGHT SPECIAL.

And at the very same time there was yet another Musical 💥 Explosion taking place right along with it..! 🤔 And that was The Spanish/ Latin Music Sarah... Well , I got to experience THE VERY BEST OF BOTH THESE WORLD'S OF MUSICAL TALENTS... Both, the ENGLISH & SPANISH/LATIN MUSICAL WORLDS were just as rich one to the other...
