You did not say anything on wether an LDM is a good replacement for a measuring tape. 2mm off in measuring a piece of land is fine, not so if you have to cut a piece of wood that has to precisely fit. So, can it?

How do I measure the length of a table, cot or say TV screen (diagonal)? Here the above said items do not have any obstruction at either end for the light to reflect?
