I usually find Rom hacks to be stupid "how insanely diffucult can it be made so as to be unplayable" pieces of garbage. This looks, sounds and seems to play amazing...something that I actually WANT to play! 😎🤘
I don't think a sequel to the OG CastleVania would be the same thing with better graphics and different music. The stages are still exactly the same, It's a visually impressive hack, but calling it someone's "vision of a true sequel" seems pretty misleading in my book.
.. but that woukd require programming a game from scratch, thus negating the whole hack thing. You're limited in scope to what was offered in the original game.
@@mr.berardine1694not really, look at Mario Adventure. There are some Rom Hacks that really go the extra mile, and while I can't remember their names there are several examples of this for this game. Its attractive but I think it really doesn't change things up enough for that claim.
Swing and a miss. Its a good graphics overhaul, but it's not bringing anything new to the table like Revamped or Holy Relics did. Certainly doesn't warrant a purchase.
It was a hack of the original Castlevania so I had to work within the confines of the original game. At best I could move some stuff around but I couldn't do a complete redesign. Would of liked too. Looking back a Castlevania 3 hack would of offered more freedom in stage design.
All the characters are more refined, they shaved away some of the chunkiness! But somehow, Simon's hair looks too much! it's not in balance with the rest of the sprite

Considering how Konami shat on the IP, I can usually excuse selling an old school CV type game, but this just the same game with a graphics tweak. No sir, I don't like it.

The limited edition I think was sold by the creator in cartridges. Later he released a free version with less content
