We did (Australia also sells both 7 seaters). The 9 is lovely but I felt a bit cumbersome with all that extra length and width. Interior of the 8 is just more efficiently packaged. It still works perfectly for our family of 5, we love it
We bought mazda cx9 skyactiv. 3 years of ownership until now, very satisfied with the power delivery and also noise insulation. We bought the cx9 because of bobby’s review few years ago. Thanks bobby, your review is always true.
i love the term of "accidentally" pass through some touge roads.....i tend to have that kind of accidental incident too, somehow ended up in some touge roads...
Unfortunately Mazda CX-8 doesn't offer a 2+3+2 seat version in the higher spec. I suspect if such version is offered, the CX-8 could easily sell double the volume.
3rd row are basically useless even in a CX9. It was on sale here in brunei for $54k if I’m not wrong with all the bells and whistles but I ended up buying a Toyota Prodo with no bells and whistles and $15k more. Glad I made that decision as my friend’s CX9 is showing problems after : yrs which is the same age as mine. Another friend who’s driving a Mazda 6 says his aircon knobs are more expensive then the ones on Mercedes’ 😂😂
Dont go to Mazda Bkt Dukung, Kajang. They made it compulsory to take insurance from Berjaya Sompo, which only offers conventional package. Checked with few other Mazda dealers, we actually can opt for other Insurance/Takaful provider.
No regret buying this. I have sit in my co XC90. i ll prefer this anytime. It's so much comfy and sound insulation is superb! Best combo is Mid plus spec..what a shame. I hope Mazda Mgmt take note and give high spec for 6 seats (without centre console)
Nice video bobby cool review...definitely agree that thr mazda cx8 diesel top spec is a good value proposition....funny thing happen today when watching your video...my wife was shocked that her 2016 mazda 6 gl 2.5 touring wagon has the same dashboard, gearknob, switchgear etc as the cx8, and she has asked me, how is it possible...and i responded...it is because your husband knows how to read the spec sheet and pick cars....definitely enjoy some self praise occasionally...haha
Hi Bobby, just want to interrupt. The wood on the door cards and dashboard are real woods, they call it Ayous wood. Excellent and detailed review bobby Keep it up!
Even the storage place near the aircond hard to access.. just a suggestion, mazda can consider to change to a smaller gear knob or different type of gear.
We have one on order, so excited and is being built as we speak. We got the Touring SP diesel AWD. The wife didn’t want leather again so I got the highest spec I could without leather. It isn’t missing too much over the higher specs but would have liked auto tailgate.
Actually you could've specced the highest spec and then let your wife drive it for a while and if she really didn't want the leather swap it with another lower spec owner who wants it haha
Hi Bobby, Could you share your view on diesel particulate filter (DPF) on 2.2D CX8? How often it required regen, and what should we do when the car is undergone Regen.
Bobby can you include the uphill stretch behind the desa green service apartment as part of your suspension test for every car? I find that is a suspension killer for many cars. Wish to know what car can handle that well.
Blah la bobby, hari tu kata cx8 the least enjoyable mazda to drive...hahahaha Btw, got this beast...cyberjaya-penang only cost me 25ringgit The torque and handling are magics
i prefer the design of the cx9 because its wider. i dont like the cx8 looking like an elongated cx5. it looks like it was in a transition between a cx5 to cx9 (it is) that didnt make it to the cx9 stage. for example, the engine, the lights, the tail and the interior. great car tho! all mazdas are great!
I live in Jakarta and too bad they don’t have CX8 diesel in here, only 2.5 skyactiv NA just like in CX5. I think CX8 or CX9 would be better selling cars with the diesel engine in here since Hyundai Palisade 2.2 diesel is now the best selling monococque large SUV in here
Normal daily drive 2.2d cyberjaya-klcc, using mex hiway speed 120-130kmh 14.5km/l...maintain at 80-90kmh easily get 19.6-21km/l...my record 25.5km/l cyberjaya-pandamaran using federal road cruising at 70-90kmh
Bear in mind it is AWD by demand, VGT turbo that provides u torque at any rpm uniformly, and the 25.5km/l i above-mentioned with 4 adults and 2 teenagers inside.
@@ronaldt3422 That's what they said - for now, but things may change according to time. The torsion-beam layout is present because it's based on a stretched Mazda 3/CX30 platform.
Idk why I watch this…I’m a single gay man with no aspiration to have kids or getting married but still fantasize about driving this car with my petulant kids at the back

Own a cx8 2.5, enjoying it pretty much
We bought the CX8 7 seater and the second row is very comfortable and has a folding centre armrest with two USB ports

As Mazda owner, I totally agree with Bobby..really love this car...I bought the cx8 n my Mazda 3 I gave it to my wife..
Hi. Does the 3rd row have air cond vents?
Salute Mazda. It's solid build quality, top notch materials and immaculate fit and finish compares with premium Euro.

The aircond buttons are blocked by the gear knob. Mazda should have move the buttons higher for easy access.

Good luck ..3 cyl with hi compression petrol engine..
Loving the CX-8! I’m getting a Mazda for sure in my future! ❤️ #MazdaIsSpecial #Mazda
Hi Bobby,
Can check if cx8 ride as good as the new harrier? Looking for an suv :)
Bobby can you include the uphill stretch behind the desa green service apartment as part of your suspension test for every car? I find that is a suspension killer for many cars. Wish to know what car can handle that well.
Hi Bobby, can you review skytint? It is good compare to 3m or llumar tint?
Why does the Malaysia spec doesn’t have the BOSE sound system?
It would cost additional 3k-5k...
Tai Choo Yee retrofitted many stuff on his car after one month he bought it! 😎
I’m still remember the first car I knew when I was child was Mazda sedan…hahaha…..recon car at that time
Why leh Bobby? If I buy a used CX9 2018 model cost RM180k which has depreciated a lot in terms of percentage if compared to a used CX8
Smart
Me too

Sooo true, man have to give up something for something
the footwells in the 3rd row look really cramp. I wonder if its larger for the 7 seater version.
will CX60 come to Malaysia?
Hello bobby, between CX8 and Xpender, which one you will choose?
Literally different price bracket bro
Is it right Bermaz Motor will make CX-8 Facelift on May.🤔?
Can modify to Ventilation seat ?
Mazda 2.2 Diesel use Kia engine right?
I do wonder why the high spec doesn’t have 7 seats
is CX-9 worth RM120k more?
Cx9 only adds turbo engine, Bose & red interior
Can change the high spec cx8 to 7 seated?
Nice Shoes Bobby haha.
what's the FC on this CX-8?

is there going to be a updated version of this in the following years?
coming this july
@@winstonwong9710 what updates? is it going to be a facelift version?
Looks elongated.
No i don't want and i don't like a ferari or whatever, cx8 perfect!
Put in mrcc n sunroof then syiok
I added mrcc at 4.5k ringgit, but not enjoying use it in KL/Kepong/pandamaran or any hectic places
Why would you buy CX5 over a CX8 or CX9 when it’s practically all the same ? 😂😂😂
Bobby: The CX5 if a little longer would command more road presence, but the CX8 is a little longer than hoped for
Mazda: I present to you the CX50
CX 50 only for America and its designed more for off road. It uses torsion beam rear suspension
