The whole thing about fake Damascus steel is so asinine. While ancient Damascus steel is lost to time, modern Damascus steel still exists, and is produced by forging different steels together. Fake Damascus steel means a pattern was applied to a single piece of steel to mimic a Damascus pattern (e.g. by laser etching a piece of stainless). You can see a massive price and quality difference between real and fake Damascus steels. Trying to claim all modern Damascus steel is fake sounds defensive and isn't productive.
I think Aviator with the pull strap is the best in my opinion but right now I’m using an Ashland Leather Vertical Bugs Moran in Natural Shell Cordovan and it is sweeet
hey there. I was confused between the ekster aluminium or carbon cardholder. Which one will hold on for the long term? To be specific, brushed aluminium black vs the forged carbonfiber
Count me out. Overpriced and redundant. Already have the Ridge and don't carry it often anymore. Just lost my interest in metal wallets in general and sandwich wallets in particular.
I've been watching your channel for a while now, and I still don't think these minimalist steel wallets are for me. I still swear by my generic leather trifold wallet. I like how you review stuff though. Hope you branch out to larger bag or pouches. Though I can see some stuff like that edc pouch you review recently. Good stuff.
I have both a Ridge and Aviator wallet. The Ridge is really well made and feels solid, but right now, I'm just using it for gift cards. The Aviator is my every day wallet. Small differences, but usability is so much better.
I love Aviator! However one year of usage the plates never felt the same anymore. They were often loose. Again all these wallets are overpriced and their warranty sucks especially Aviator. And I love their design
The plates being easily removable is actually a big NO for me. Especially with using the cash strap or money clip cause it can easily come off when getting cash in and out and that's going to be very annoying. I would definitely prefer the plates to be solidly secured. And magnets on a wallet is always a negative for me. None of the wallets in my collection uses magnets. Plus, compared to the Ridge, this wallet looks ugly. I can't believe you scored this one so high, especially in functionality.
Hi there! Thanks for sharing your perspective. We totally get that everyone has different preferences when it comes to wallet design and functionality. However, we'd like to clarify that our plates use 24 strong neodymium magnets, which are carefully positioned to have no impact on the cards inside. We found that screws tend to strip, come loose, and fall out over time and magnets solve all of those problems. In terms of aesthetics, we offer the Axwell Wallet in 10 different colors, so there's a variety to choose from to match your style. We're always working to provide options that suit various tastes. The Damascus Steel lineup is just one of our many offerings. We appreciate your feedback! 👍🏼
I just received my order. Two axwell wallets. I'm definitely not impressed. I returned a ridge, thinking these were better. Definitely not. The cash wrap is not tight enough to hold cash, even if I fold it multiple times with 6 bills. One of the wallets came with a knick on one of the corners, and some kind of residue around the wallet. Hopefully I can return them.
It's called innovation. If nobody ever innovated we would still be riding horses and using candle light. We took an existing design that was flawed and made it better. Our customers love it so that's all that matters.
@@axwellwalletThis is a stolen design, period. Innovation would require incorporating something new or even better. And those magnetic plate on the side that made it easier to lose whatever cash or card you have in the strap is not a good design at all.
@@ermal6157 i own the Xstow as well. I don't love it either but it's better then these for sure. I just really don't like metal wallets I guess. Trayvax were pretty awful too
I own a copper Axwell and it’s a heavy wallet. I own a couple of Ridge wallets too and let me tell you the Rossm wallet is my favorite of the bunch. It’s the cheapest as far as price point goes but it does open to you owning different styles. Love it. Oh and stay away from the Aviator wallet. Hated it! Very cheaply made.
@@hustler666100 it’s half the price of a Ridge so you can get 2. I got the forged red and overall happy with it. Although Ridge is a little more premium
Interesting that you would describe this clunky, magnetized together, awkward, insecure, ridge knockoff “more sophisticated.” I guess I have a very different definition of sophisticated.
These kinds of wallets should not be over $50 at max!
Axwell has a 3rd magent revision and new lineup coming in Jan (?) Or at least early next year. Would be nice to see an updated review then.

Good morning @wallettopia! Can you suggest me a wallet with a hinge for the coins ?

Carbon fiber is scratch resistant
@@AngeloR674 oh thanks a lot man
How strong are the magnets?

same I went back to a leather bifold

$145 lol
No way
That price! 😂
Magnets are a horrible idea
They have priced themselves FAR out of the market IMO. Someone's a bit greedy.
Price and Usabillity kind of deal breaker for me 145 bucks for that? Big No
Its $160.00 now!

Does anybody understand??!!.. that magnets lose there power over time!!..
I think this guy hates Ridge 😂
Big Skinny compact bi-fold sport is the best wallet in the entire world. Take it to the bank!
I have that wallet like it better than the ridge as you can change the plates
$145 for what? A stolen design?
Or improved

The price and I’m aggressive wit my wallet this would piss me off coming apart all the time HARD PASS. This is not for men
Meh....ill stick with leather. I prefer the xstow vs sandwich style if i had to go metal though
Xsto is ugly had it returned it. It works well but it doesnt look like a wallet at all and it messed the edges of the cards

Way too high for me. ❤
Him? Absolutely.
I have the flipside wallet and love it
I wish they'd refresh that. It's been stale for awhile.

Both ridge and axwell suck.
The price is way too high ! 0.5 out of 5 !
It looks ugly af tho 😔
Yea don’t like this to many removable pieces I use the ridge and love it simple and less pieces to lose
first

Nice review. Very unappealing product.
Aviator wallet has a better and more functional design imo
I'm almost at the point where I never need a wallet. Apple Watch.
Goodluck when that watch gets stolen and you're left with no backup or ID for that matter.
You always need a wallet! Wake up!
Get a grip!
magnets. keep them away from ur cards
