Brings back the days back in 79 when I owned a GMC Astro and was truck-in across this great country of ours. The Astro only had an AM radio, but late at night while driven I could pick up so many great clear stations, Wheeling, Nashville, Chicago, Dodge City and Shreveport just to name a few that played all these great country songs. "If it ain't country, it ain't music"!
This is one of my favourite McCall songs. It's brooding, atmospheric and full of imagery that evokes the tedium of a truckdrivers lifestyle. It also takes a sledgehammer to what passes for country and western music in recent decades.
2 days ago, about 1:30 - 2:00 o'clock in the morning, still about an hour from home on the Taconic, heading south, and a pouring, flooding rain starts coming down. I found this song, turned it on and kept on driving. Then I started to grasp what nirvana is :)))
Thank You so very much Mr. Bill Fries, Aka as CW McCall, Your Music will always be part of the 1970's era. And CB radios. Rest in Peace Sir.

This is my favorite CW McCall, maybe best trucker song ever.
The BEST driving song...with or without rain. Thanks, Bill.
