It seems to me that Numenera, Monte Cook's flagship science fantasy setting took a lot of inspiration from Blackmoor. All the better, we can now use the Arcana of the Ancients sourcebook his company put out to fuel a 5e Blackmoor setting. Or at the least a Mystara setting with more Blackmoor tech.
Hey Mr. Welch, do you happen to have a copy of The First Fantasy Campaign? It was a Judges Guild product in cahoots with Arneson that compiled a bunch of his campaign notes for OD&D Blackmoor. It's pretty incomprehensible in places but is another place that details the setting pretty well from the horse's mouth so to speak.
@@Mr_Welch Would you like one? They're aren't many folks out there doing the kind of work you are and I'd rather have someone have it who will use it. I'd be more than happy to send it out to you.
@@Mr_Welch What would be the best way to get it out to you? I'm in Georgia so it would have to be mailed I suppose. My email is cjerowe@yahoo.com. Shoot me a line with a P.O. Box or whatever suits and I'll get it out to you. It's in great shape but it is missing the Players hex map. The DM's map is in excellent shape though.
Just thinking out loud here but if the licensing could be worked out, a Blackmoor (pre Cataclysm) for 5th Edition would be a kick ass setting sourcebook.
The Vaults of Pandius has some neat Blackmoor space faring stuff, complete with Spelljammer Crossovers.
I remember City of the Gods and Temple of the Frog. That was some brutal opposition we ran into.
Temple of the frog made my best of list. Steven The Rock was one of the best villains in D&D
@@Mr_Welch , I adapted the maps about 20 years later for a more mundane adventure as well. All in all it's just generally well made and cool module.

Love your videos! Can't wait for the book
