It’s amazing how the government moves when millionaires homes get burned to the ground, but if your house goes sliding down the mountain because of a hurricane $700 is all you’re worth
FEMA is dumb as shit. They’ve been keeping people in hotels for 2 months at a time when they don’t even need it 3 months after the hurricane. But when hotels were briefly needed while power was out and trees were down, you couldn’t get them. I know of at least 2 people in FEMA rooms and they don’t need them / just “party.” Sad.
You wouldn’t be talking about the job makers’s like that would you? Don’t go spreading your conservative bullshit if you’re not willing to say that you are not worth what they are and that’s why you’re not getting it. Maybe if you worked a little harder and didn’t eat all that avocado toast
Not only that but the people in NC had no warning no way to prepare BUT all your elected officials knew of the dangers and did nothing to prepare. Then act like none of this is their fault.
I think what’s bothering for most people is, that rich people pretend they worked so hard for their money. When the richest people do the least amount of work. Like how Bert and Tom pretend they “worked so hard” for their money lmfao.
I’m not surprised at all these guys are so out of touch that they feel sorry for the evil ceo instead of the actual victims of our predatory health care system
We all hate CEOs because we had weekly or daily meetings with them all throughout the pandemic and all they talked about was leveraging our unique position to increase value to the shareholders. Meanwhile, half of my former coworkers are now destitute and I'm next on the chopping block--in the name of increasing value to the shareholders. CEOs are money grubbing bastards and I'm working as hard as I can to get away from ever having to interact with them. Ah, what am I even saying here? Corporations in general were made transparently evil during the pandemic and CEOs were just the voice of the machines.
I wish Tom wrote down all the things he said when it's just him and Bert, so I could hear him discuss it with someone who actually has a functioning brain and adds some value to the conversation.😭
They are not in the same house!!!! What a scam!! Bert has the earpiece and is actually not talking over Tom. Even the audio is massively different between them.
I don't for 1 second feel anything but absolutely sadness about every single home loss. However I do have a reaction to the coverage of it. I've seen multiple articles talking about what celebrities lost their houses and compiling lists about what they were worth. In the reality is is those celebrities have the means to move somewhere else even though this is a tragedy for them also but I can't imagine that the people without resources who are already stretched so thin in LA are going to have many options left open to them. Love you guys and hope all your people are safe❤
"Why don't we make houses out of chimneys?" might be the smartest-dumbest thing I've ever heard. Yes, Burnt Chrysler, it's called brick, and yes, it's a great idea 💡👍
Between earthquakes, wild fires (and fire bugs) and mud slides PLUS the insane cost - I'd never live in California. I'm saying prayers for those in the middle of this tragedy.
Berts story about to sound like "when I was 65 I got involved with the insurance mafia, they said your house is a cardboard box soaked in rubbing alcohol, of course we can't insure it
Let’s also remember Lahaina, North Carolina, and East Palenstine. Funny how their needs weren’t important because their houses weren’t millions of dollars. Everyone needs a humble pie to eat and God is cooking it.
So fucking hard to believe. My aunt lost her house, as did my cousin and his family both in Altadena, ,also 6 of my parents friends lost their homes. being a native of Los Angeles and my family being in the Pasadena area for 3 generation we also know about 30 friends who have lost everything aside from the close on their back!! Growing up and frequenting all those areas most of my life I am shell shocked. I live in Berlin now and cant help but feel so fucking helpless watching and talking to people. It is going to take 10+ years to rebuild and I am sure the charm of the city and those neighbourhood's will be gone.
I've noticed a lot of youtube creators have been absent in the days since these fires. It's just enough to be a pattern. There must be a lot of streamers and such that live in the admittedly expensive, but more attainable parts of LA that are burning
3D printed homes are going to start popping up in LA. Everyone is talking about the rebuilding period. 3D homes go up fast and with almost no crew to build it.
8:52 I live in Western NC.. we have had 3 major floods since 2004 (2 in the last 3 years) It does change the entire landscape as well as brings the snakes out in ppl! I just hope those ppl have a minimal amount of the ass hats!
These people that are giving these guys and other celebrities shit for complaining about losing their homes are insane. It doesn't matter how much money you have, they earned the money that was spent to buy these houses. People may have raised children in these homes they made memories in these homes. It shouldn't matter if they're rich or not, THEY LOST THEIR HOME. It's despicable seeing the lack of empathy people are having for people who lost their homes in this fire.
@kylefrancis3906 I stopped watching after the first couple of minutes. I usually check it out for the first few but thid podcast has been unwatchable for years. Bert is just such a piece of shit
A quarter of the population in the 50s had either been a soldier, and everyone grew gardens and lived a rationed life too... and how did houses ever appreciate in value because more houses are being built. Your 1980 Toyota isn't worth more than a lambo...
Our economy is just a pyramid of paper and digital currency, the "wealth" and "riches" that exist are just a bunch of financial products created from the debt generated by these homes. The actual materials used are as cheap as possible so investors get a better rate of return on property. Also in LA, I think brick and stone need to be reinforced like foundation to meet earthquake code, so few are building entire structures to that standard without wood.
"they should build houses out of chimneys" lmaooo
Yeah! they can use chimney material!? why hasn't anyone EVER thought of that before
They should've built their houses made out of BERT
Laughing in British
Laughing in European 😀
Wait, their houses aren't brick?
It’s amazing how the government moves when millionaires homes get burned to the ground, but if your house goes sliding down the mountain because of a hurricane $700 is all you’re worth

Yah but it means the country is still able to move. If even Hollywood can't get their shit together, we are definitely gone.
Not only that but the people in NC had no warning no way to prepare BUT all your elected officials knew of the dangers and did nothing to prepare. Then act like none of this is their fault.
Yeah but come on guys. Its disgusting to notice it
It’s called wealth inequality Bert… when it gets this lopsided and warped the resentment and anger kicks in. It’s just the beginning.
It's proven that wealth is negatively correlated with empathy.
I think what’s bothering for most people is, that rich people pretend they worked so hard for their money. When the richest people do the least amount of work. Like how Bert and Tom pretend they “worked so hard” for their money lmfao.
I think Bart thinks he's one of the wealthy people.
He literally asked Tom last episode "Do we all have the same healthcare?" There's no way he understands any of what you said. 😂

Or Lahaina or East Palenstine.

Don't worry Black Rock will just buy the area and charge very reasonable rent
Smart city incoming
super cool how bert basically admits he didn't care about the fire until it got close to where he lives
Here in Brazil all of the houses are made with cement and bricks, its really rare to occur such destruction..
imagine OWNING a tour bus and still packing a "go bag". lmao
"ANYTHING YOU ACHIEVE WILL NOT FIX YOU BERT"

Bert sees families home burn down- goes to Zillow to predicate on them
Everyone thought Tom was the psycho, but Bert is the diabolical diabetically monster.
Diabolically diabetic 😆 🤣
We all can relate to the humble beginnings of being in our millionaire friend's house and feeling inferior to their material possesions
I like to imagine bert legless from the knees down when he sits like that.
Only a matter of time 😅
Bert saying he cancelled his set at the comedy store, and Tom immediately asking if that was on the news 😂

Hi Tim. Hi Bart!
10:29 Regular people. 700K or 1M dollar houses. California is wild.
That's the crazy part though. To be a regular person and it still cost to be 700k to live there is INSANE.
A quarter of the population in the 50s had either been a soldier, and everyone grew gardens and lived a rationed life too... and how did houses ever appreciate in value because more houses are being built. Your 1980 Toyota isn't worth more than a lambo...
Why is Tom looking like Steve Jobs and Burp Chrysler still the same?
Cause some people let money change them and others don't.
this is what im puzzled at in america. you guys are rich but you build your houses with wood and not concrete? why is this a trend?
Our economy is just a pyramid of paper and digital currency, the "wealth" and "riches" that exist are just a bunch of financial products created from the debt generated by these homes.
