I landed on Mars for the first time today (11/4/24) and I saw the Pyramid at max render distance. I was curious, so I drove over there. Sure enough, it was absolute hell to travel there with a vehicle due to the updated rocky surface (unlike the smooth surface shown here in the video). It took me around 2 hours in real time to make it to the base of the Pyramid. Was the Gem actually there? Sure was. Did I think for a second to take it back with me? Absolutely not. It is not worth the time, effort, nor reward to do all of that again - let alone in a dust storm. I decided to admire the Gem in all it's glory and left the game after that. The fact that not only you have to traverse the rocky surface on the way there in ~2 hours time (if you're able to find a decent path), but to walk up the tall Pyramid, steal the gem, rush back down and have to do the entire journey back again while jumping out periodically and trying to find your way back is just not worth the effort in my mind. I seriously commend anybody who managed to take this back to their lander in the current, updated version of the game. My vehicle flipped out many times due to the rocky terrain. Honestly, not worth it unless you have a day to waste away on the journey to and back.
I got to 16.8km and realized 30k was NOWHERE NEAR how much it's worth. The gem is worth about 16 million ingame money from what you have to do. I didn't even see it in sight and realized that it was 24.7km, or I went the wrong direction. I left angrily after that, realizing I'll never get the Aresonius. I'm sure that was the best decision I made.
i did it and that toke me 3-4 hours in new update they add a rock make it harder to drive when i reach the pyramid and stole the gemstone i walk to my lander and that is very pain but at less got the badge and 112 k cash this is very helpful thank you !
The terrain feature ruined the ability to get this badge Its faster to walk than to drive because of the crap terrain and you cant disable it. I really really hate that feature. The time to get the gem because of the feature is a bit over 2 hours not including the healing you need to do

It is basically just traveling distance and getting orbits (my stats were something close to 2,3M distance and 62 orbits and the 3 days badge which I believe also gives a multiplier)
It is possible that is was to your right (some tips: join a public server where it is already visited to give you a good indication where it is (at max graphics you can see it from spawn) and when back at a solo server try to stay on course no matter what)

I believe it was around 45 minutes to an hour, but that was before the rock update which makes it take wayyyy longer

yes it is still the same and it doesn't change, but I personally wouldn't go to it for the money since it only gives $30.000 without multipliers
