Valerie Gee It's pretty obvious. Ruff is a cartoon, he can't just answer immediately. The animators have to animate first. Then the kids have to pretend like Ruff is actually on the TV.
Huh, I don't really remember Zoom so I didn't make the connection, I realized the show was fake in I think season 4 when they were on the """deserted island"" and there were people in the background thus instantly giving away the fact that the island wasn't actually deserted. but man, the kids were just characters too?? I thought at the very least they were normal kids that volenteered and knew it was fake but were into it for the story and the whole scavenger hunt part well that just ruins my childhood even more
All of the shit on this show was in Boston area, and that's where I live. I just wanted to be in this show when I was younger. Honestly I hear all of my friends talk about how great the old nick and disney shows were, but since I didn't have cable these were my childhood TV shows.
Does anyone else remember the season finale challenges? Where the last two Fetchers would compete against each other, and the former contestants came back to root for them? SO MUCH HYPE!!!
Nicolas Medina yes they need to bring this back I was pissed when they didn't get a 6th season and idek know why it didn't get one it was such a good show
good shows have to end eventually before the creators run out of ideas, look at stuff like Family Guy and the Simpsons. At least we can still have fond memories
I went to their website on pbskids.org (Fetch itself not listed anymore, you have to play around with the URL) and it still says PBS Kids GO! and it says it’s in its fifth season.
At LEAST Fetch! had a great ending with no annoying cliffhangers or loose ends as well as 2 UA-cam sequel shows (Humble Media Genius and The Ruff Ruffman Show)! I can't say the same for Peter Rabbit though. :'( #PeterRabbitSeason3 #PeterRabbitSeasonThree
Not all of it. From Wikipedia: The fourth camera simply captured Conroy doing his lines as Ruff in the audio booth. The kids heard him in the studio and he heard their reactions in his headphones. Ruff's lines were the only lines that were scripted out, though he would sometimes ad-lib an answer to a question or comment from a FETCHer. Once the lines were recorded, the show went into editing, where the challenges were sorted into the show order. Then they were sent to Jim Conroy in New York City, to voice dialog for Ruff's animation. Once that was complete, it was sent back to WGBH where editors placed audio clips of the animated characters. Once all of this was done, the episode was sent to Global Mechanic to animate the show.
Our PBS only airs 2 GO shows, Arthur and CyberChase. I miss shows like this, and Zoboomafoo, I liked that show too. I remember when our station played reruns in 2013-2014. I miss the old PBS Kids...
aaaaahhhhhh shit this was one of my favorite shows when i was small id always run into the tv room when i heard its theme and i remember all those flash games that were on its pbs page that id play every day
Looking back the live action parts are scripted as hell but damn Fetch and his commentary made this show the best thing and it's still good today best one is Chet
Now THIS was the shit growing up. I always wanted to be on it especially considering all the things they got to do every episode and because most of the kid were from Massachusetts (where I’m a native of)
This was one of the rare shows my whole FAMILY loved. I have great memories of all of us sitting in the living room and watching almost every day. All these years later I can still recite almost the whole theme from memory.
DAYTIME EMMY AWARD WINNER right here. And for damn good reason. This theme song WAGS THE TAIL. One of my top ten for sure, as I ADORED Fetch growing up.
I used to love this theme song when I was a little girl 👧🏼❤️ Now that I’m a teenager I STILL love this theme song this brings me back memories 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹😭😭😭😭😭
I swear NOBODY ever puts this show in the list of nostalgic TV shows from the 2000s but this was my favorite one on PBS kids and one of my favorite shows as a kid overall.
I remember being obsessed with this show as an 8 year old. I miss it and I feel it should return someday, hell even as a teenager I'll occasionally watch it for the nostalgia.
pbskids.org still has the Fetch! website, but it’s extremely outdated, there are no videos (the page doesn’t even fit the screen right anyway), and you have to either click on The Ruff Ruffman Show or Humble Media Genius and delete everything after “/ruff” to access it. They also took it off the PBS Kids Video App, and it’s still on my station’s app (with Thomas for some reason) but the link goes to a blank page.
My only life goal was to be on this show
as was mine
+Lone Wolf also was my goal to

did he just say that i bet arthur dont have to deal with this stuff
Yes, and nice username 😂
Yeah the shows kinda had crossovers I think...
Kevin Guan not crossovers just references most with fetch to Arthur or curious George but neither of those shows returned the favor
WGBH Boston owns both shows, hence the reference to Arthur.
Smitty werbenjagermanjensen I've been to the wgbh place before. I live twenty mins away
It took me 4 years to find out that all of the contestants were acting.
end my suffering NOOOOO, REALLY??
Valerie Gee It's pretty obvious. Ruff is a cartoon, he can't just answer immediately. The animators have to animate first. Then the kids have to pretend like Ruff is actually on the TV.
Yup
Honestly finding out this show wasn't real was worse then finding out Santa wasn't real
Huh, I don't really remember Zoom so I didn't make the connection,
I realized the show was fake in I think season 4 when they were on the """deserted island"" and there were people in the background thus instantly giving away the fact that the island wasn't actually deserted. but man, the kids were just characters too?? cupcakex3 oooooooh I get it hahahahahaha 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Ruff: "You know, I bet Arthur doesn't have to deal with stuff like this!"
I don't get it.
I looked at another video and the line was
"Why are there cats singing?"
That line was different in almost every episode.
EVERYDAY WHEN YOUR WALKING DOWN THE STREET
Nintendo Of America:Hey Why don't you make something for us Mr Ruff man A CD
Unfinished Comb Studios You never seen cartoons alter intros slightly? Like new seasons, specials, holidays?
All of the shit on this show was in Boston area, and that's where I live. I just wanted to be in this show when I was younger.
Honestly I hear all of my friends talk about how great the old nick and disney shows were, but since I didn't have cable these were my childhood TV shows.
Same here. The majority of shows I grew up with were either on PBS kids, Nick Jr, or Playhouse Disney (anyone remember that?)
Boston Massachusetts? I’m from Massachusetts!
Jack Madden yep Boston area
PBS had majority of the kids shows I watched lmao
yes me too!!! I’m like the only one of my friends who grew up watching pbs and ytv not Disney and family (ew)

For people who were fans of the show, the voice actor for Ruff is the same voice actor for Kenny from "Kenny the Shark".
Awwwwww yeaaaa I remember I hear that is the dance person taking now thanks for making it known no wonder I lie that show so much
That is so random.
*snaps* That's where I've heard it. Been killing me for years.
Emanuel Rice I knew there was something I recognized
I haven't heard that name in years
Ruff: You know I bet Arthur doesn't have to deal with stuff like this! ha ha! he referred to Arthur!
Rushing home at 3:30 pm just to watch this. I loved this show so much. 😂
I used to play the games my favorite was avoiding the germs
@@linwoodvalentine7693 OMG the germ game was my favorite as well!
I also enjoyed it that geyser mini game, along with the roller coaster game.
OMG YES. I remember that exact time bruh
The biggest let down of my life was when I realized this was all scripted.
IKR!????!!!!!!!!!
ilikecats bullshit
Life became a lie after finding that out
Not all of it. From Wikipedia:
The fourth camera simply captured Conroy doing his lines as Ruff in the audio booth. The kids heard him in the studio and he heard their reactions in his headphones. Our PBS only airs 2 GO shows, Arthur and CyberChase. I miss shows like this, and Zoboomafoo, I liked that show too. I remember when our station played reruns in 2013-2014. I miss the old PBS Kids...

From Arthur the show???? with the guy with the glasses and his yellow shirt??
*DUH!!!* Arthur (the show) is the reference!
Now THIS was the shit growing up. I always wanted to be on it especially considering all the things they got to do every episode and because most of the kid were from Massachusetts (where I’m a native of)
Every time they called a new contestant on the house phone I thought my house phone was gonna ring thinking I’d go to the show 😂
OH MY FUCKING GOD OH MY GOD TBT LMAOOO. HOW DID I FORGET ABOUT THIs fuCKING SHOW
This brings back so many childhood memories
I’m crying rn I’m 18 now I used to watch this everyday when I was little
What I wonder is how the heck were they able to animate Ruff? If a kid asked a specific question, how was an animated chatacter able to respond to it?
My theory is that the voice actors were on set and could answer the kids' questions, but they only animated it after it was filmed
That's what I think too.
generally, the animations are made after the sound is recorded anyway since it's easier to animate to sound then to do it the other way around.
The script duhhh
SuperMarioMan's Toons it's staged
Arthur DOES deal with Stuff like this.
D.W.
right there with you! I love seasons 1-3!!!!! This show was my childhood! RIP Ruff Ruffman! May you live in peace bro!
This was one of the rare shows my whole FAMILY loved. I have great memories of all of us sitting in the living room and watching almost every day. All these years later I can still recite almost the whole theme from memory.

The nostalgia is hitting me hard! Loved coming home from elementary school to watch this :)
I remember being obsessed with this show as an 8 year old. I miss it and I feel it should return someday, hell even as a teenager I'll occasionally watch it for the nostalgia.

Does anyone know a site where they have all the seasons online? Cuz' man this show was awesome and I really wish I could watch it again.
UA-cam has most free if you look. I can't seem to find season 2 episode 15(I think) however...
