"because even though we survived the struggle that made us
we still look at ourselves through the eyes of people that hate us"
holy fuck..
+Mario A black everything right? fuckin idiot. THERES ALSO LATINOS AND PUERTA RICAN AND SOUTH AMERICANS IN GENERAL BEING DISCRIMINATED AGAINST MAYBE EVEN MORE THAN BLACK EXEPT WITHOUT THE PRESS YOU FUCKWIT....
***** he isnt talking about black america. he isnt even black he is from peru. this isnt about race. black america doesnt exist. thats what they want you to think so that we are segregated and easier to controll.
immortal technique is one of the best in history
Because intelligence is rare brother. The masses are too busy, labelling each other, Muslim, Christian, American, Black, Immigrant, Homosexual, etc.
Bumping this when I was 15 and struggling. Now I’m 27 and still struggling but still not giving up and still bumping this song💪🏽
I pray that God gives you the strength to overcome your obstacles. Don't give up my brother its a test. You're on the right track. Love from the UK ❤ keep up the struggle
This entire song is full of wise quotes. I love him so much, truly my hero.
Tech needs to make some new tracks like this. Can't get enough of this.
MghUnit407 His new album middle passage is coming out 2015-2016... He's not retired.
***** Didn't know his career boomed, if anything it has died down the last couple years. And he's been saying the Middle Passage is coming soon for like 5 years now
"The mind of a child is where the revolution begins."
So if the solution has never been to look in yourself how do you expect to find it anywhere else?
Ernesto 'Che' Guevara [REVOLUTIONARY] dmt in to life and dmt out. There’s ya spirit u al
@Catholic Truth ur words are full of hate, i use2 be Catholic until i realize how much of a hypocrite it made me, hope u get out of that program thats been downloaded into u, be unplugged from the matrix my friend stop following what made u believe in . Religion destroyed spirituality u must be in tune with ur higher self thats when u truly walk with god cuz u are it just not aligned at the moment. The same consciousness that is god is the same consciousness that lies in every living cell every single atom molecule is god. how do u think it is omnipresent. U need to research in ancient hermetic and astrology ull begin to understand the philosophy of spiritual which is life itself not be guided by blind fate . Stop being a shepherd and be a leader for urself
Back in my early high school days I didn't respect Immortal Technique enough as a rapper. Largely because I wasn't well versed in critical thinking of lyrics. But now that a handful of years have passed I can say with confidence that I understand his music more now. He has my eternal respect.
The lyrics of this song carries such an important meaning. To me, it's about the self-esteem of an oppressed (or previously) people and how they need to start a revolution, not overtly, but within themselves to find their pride and inner strength again and love themselves... instead of "looking at themselves through the eyes of people who hate them".
Tech's music got me through some hard days
NEVER EVER GIVE UP BRO ...STAY STRONG HEAD HIGH CHEST OUT AND HANDLE THAT SHIT .❤❤👊🏾
*2019 anyone?*
*Keep coming back*
Immortal is someone the youth now a dayz need. This is real rap especially compared to 69 fuck that dude
Childhood music, never really understood the meaning back then back now it’s so clear.
Not only one of the best Immortal Technique songs, but one of the best hip hop songs period.
Agreed. Have you heard Paris' "Days of Old"? How about Conscious Daughters' "Woman's World"?
I cry to this shit 😢
I used to wonder why people don't believe in themselves, then I saw they way they portray us to everyone else. They cursed us to only see the worst in ourselves blind to that the whole time we were hurting ourselves. Deep.
I don't believe in myself because I'm scared to fail .. People have put me down so much that I'm scared to fuck up because I'll be laughed at and never given a chance again
Everybody is scared of failure, being put down, and everybody fucks up. It's okay man all that glitters ain't gold. We are all fucked.
+1945joshuaruiz Bro just do not give a fuck of what others will think of you at that moment...i have a deep and long story related to times when i was bullied and the times when i acquired self-confidence and courage to fuck up everyone who started to fuck with me...
Message me i will encourage you to change your life for free:)
I know this was made awhile ago but I really believe that music like this(that tells the truth for what it really is)NEEDS to be sung and as LOUD as you possibly can!! Keep singing! Keep writing! Keep being courageous! Never give up fighting for the truth! You have support!💚
Not just the best "Rapper", "Hip hop aritst" alive, the greatest LYRICIST of all time, there are others who have amazing skill, but nothing is on par with or surpasses Techniques content, rhyming, and ability to stay on topic regarding whatever subject the song is about, even if a verse at first seems a bit out of place its just a metaphor for exactly what he is speaking about, realest musician ever, love this guy
xxdxpure Imo technique's far superior to Nas when it comes to lyrics/concepts, Nas has better beats tho. Doesn't matter because K Rino would shit on both these guys! Just listen to solitary confinement and annihilation of the evil machine
Luke Johns fuck out here! He ain't superior Nas has way better bars don't start talking reckless now.
*****
lmfao logic is mediocre at best...he doesn't even compare to Tech. Logic has good beats and flow but his lyricism is honestly pretty shit.
This song is just TOO TOO fuckin DEEP!!!
The lyrics, the flow, the delivery, the woman's vocals on the hook and the outro at the end, the way that beautiful flute just comes in at the perfect time and times after.... The guitar which makes the beat.....fuckin hell! Truly a masterclass from whoever it was that produced this GOLD and the lyrical genius which is Immortal Technique.
I don't think I've heard a song about LIFE as powerful as this...EVERYTIME I listen to this it's as if I'm listening to it for the first time again because I'm still after countless times of hearing these powerful lyrics amazed at just how much he bodied this shit!
Truly Legendary.
Honestly, music similar to this, but specifically this song, has gotten me thru the toughest times. Times where I wanted to give in because no light had shone at me at the end of the tunnel. It's insane to think how music can transform/save/change your life to the extent that it does for someone. I would love for this comment to get likes so it can be seen by others who feel/felt like me.
Tech you've gone silent when we need you the most
“And even though we survived through the struggle that made us, we still look at ourselves through the eyes of people that hate us..” ** this line as stuck with me for so many years now!!
This song sits on my old classic iPod. Over the years I've been adding songs to a list. This list comprise of songs i could never get tired of.
Hiphop needs this kind of message more often.
I also have a list of songs i couldn't go without saved onto my laptop and this is one of them
This is my favorite song from Tech.... idk why it doesn't have hundreds of millions of views, it's a fucking masterpiece.
"I used to wonder..used to wonder about people who don't believe in they self. Then I seen the way they protrayed us to everyone else, they cursed us, to only believe the worst in ourselves. Blind to the fact the whole time we were only hurting ourselves..."
Dude was so damn raw, never sugar coated shit. Straight smacked tf out of us with truth and didn't give af about the repercussions..no wonder he don't write no more...he was to powerful...what happened to hip hop?
"Cold war was over, but the world was getting colder."
Realism. This is exactly what I’m tryna restore through my music 🙏🏾 ☠️
listened to this song exactly 239 times every single time i get chills :)
Wow. How did I miss this as a kid. Sort of glad I did though... I feel like I'm listening to real hip hop for the first time all over again. Love
"I'm like the little kids on T.V that dig through the trash, I hustle regardless of the way you talk shit and laugh"
jay dabs stfu dbag, why u gotta come here with that negative bs? He said it because it's a dope ass line and wanted to point that out.
@@andykerste1 the whole second verse is a complete masterpiece I just repeated 5 times lmao
Immortal Technique just sees things us mere mortals are blind to, yet he can effectivley spread his message with sick beats. Amazing.
One of the sickest tracks ever. The lyrical composition, the delivery, the hook, the beat and the vocals. Truly amazing!
***** You sir, just summed up why I love this song so much! Hands down one of the best songs EVER period!!
This song trulu saved my life as a lost and troubled teenager. It was therapeutic and made me feel like I wasn't alone. Listening to it even today just hits me like a ton of bricks. No words can effectively express my gratitude, but if you ever read this Tech...thank you from the depths of my soul.
You can feel his pain in his music... #LEGEND!
Great! Even though I live in Finland and don't know anybody from America, it's still a beautiful song!
One of Tech's songs I've been listening to for a while now, still one of my favorites!
"we still look at ourselves through people who hate us." The truth my nin. Truth...
"because even though we survived through the struggles that made us, we still look at ourselves through the eyes of people that hate us"
that line is one of the best i've ever heard in a rap. i'll always love IT
Seen alot of comments saying that they been listening to this song since their teenage years, it's so beautiful that so many people goes back to an amazing song like this.
I used to listen to this track when I was around 14,back when I didn't know who I was or how the world worked, immortal technique and hip hop in general has taught me so much.
25 now and a big metalhead, but sometimes when I feel down or lost i come back to one of the best song I've ever listened to.
Long live immortal technique!
If the solution has never been to look in yourself, how is it that you expect to find it anywhere else.
heard this for the first time recently and think its amazing, something about it...
man, i must've listened to this song like a million times. and still, STILL, everytime i listen to it, i am fuckin blown away. Immortal your are immortal.
this is one of those songs that if someone asked me "what is hip hop?" I would tell them to listen to this song. this IS hip hop
everytime i hear another Immortal Technique song, its like hearing a whole new story with a entire new prespective on life.... damn..
so true.......i started listening his songs about a year ago.........i'm glad i did
Never gets old
"And it's the people that love you that seem to hurt you the most
Sometimes when they die, you find yourself cursing their ghost"
Almost got me in tears kuz wtf?
This song is pure magic
As a teenager this sounds hella deep, but as you get older you understand technique is speaking to us about his life and using it as a narrative. This is what makes the song so heartfelt.
That breath he took at the end! Deep thoughts.
I listened to this song when I was 12. 30 now and these words hit harder and make you realize Tech was just speaking truth.
"but the emptiness is what bleeds you to death when it touches you" gave me chills
This is real hip hop dawg💯🔥👺 I wish he would come out with sum like this in 2021. He never went mainstream bc he talks about shit they don't want him talking about
Immortal Techique always speaks the painfull truth, the truth people don't dare to see.
This is one of the greatest songs that has ever been made.
Immortal technique must be the best rapper in the World, but man that beat everybody could have made a dope song on it, one of the best beats ever, Premier would have been proud
Tech said he wrote this song in just an afternoon in contrast to Dance with the Devil and You Never Know, which both took years.
But this is still my favorite, I can't say why.
I can see that it doesn't have a story line I always thought he sort of just wrote this out of his mind quickly it's still one of my favorite songs ever
probably was in the zone, and in that zone he created one of the best songs of all time
Even though dance with the devil is one of the greatest hip-hop songs of all time, i agree I like this song better, it's raw inspiration.
Me too. It's so honest, it feels like he just let it come out of deep inside him
From Senegal. I learned a lot things from lmmortal Technique... His songs are deep and educative. I appreciate him a lot. 🎉🎉🎉
one of the deepest songs i've heard yet. much respect to dude.
this song gives me the chills
This is the type of MUSIC we need right now
i can't believe this guy isn't as famous as eminem
Of all the Mcs you could've said you had to say Em? Eminen is a beast and a legend in his own right.
Chill. He's far from my favorite. But when you don't acknowledge talent you sound like a Immortal Technique fanboy.
summr123 no, he's not famous because he says the truth. About everything he raps about, if he was praising the goverment he would've been famous.
+summr123 all i hear is not everyone wants to listen to political music, not everyone wants to listen to conspiracy theories, not everyone will accept Immortal Technique as an Independent Rapper. Immortal Technique is a rapper that gets 100 percent of every song he makes, a rapper that doesn't have a big label company telling him what to do, a rapper that comes from the struggle and now is an activist speaking the truth. Immortal may never get a Grammy, but he has influenced me to become aware of my own country, my government, and inform me about today's world wide problems.
i cry listening to this. HIPHOP WILL NEVER DIE!
I did too man.. I thought of my kids my life the future of my family this song touch me deep... respect my brother...
I hope you're guys are doing in good in life!! Just know I'll never let hiphop die at least in my family.. I'm only 16 but I hope I get to show my family all these amazing tracks!!
Immortal always has the illest/deep beats. Always has that guitar string. Frekin perfect
I was a poor kid in a rich neighborhood. And when he said "rich kids lost in the bubbles" it so true. They only get the best of everything and they have almost perfect lives. I saw this from an outside point of view
A bubble is symbolic for living a sheltered life, without ever having to work hard or struggle for any reason.
2020 people keep ya head up and heart strong x
One of the few songs that brought tears to my eyes when I first heard it. Its that people that love you that seem to hurt you the most, sometimes when they die you find yourself cursing their ghost...
one of the best lyrically awesome songs I've heard, love it for when you're thinking about life and feeling down
If you still keeping this alive in 2022 your officially part of the revolution
Whoever disliked this song is blind.. And it's sad.. That so many people are blind. I shook his hand twice and had a chance to talk to him for a minute. Every second in his presence made me feel like a true warrior. I feel like he really is a genuine person that cares about the people, about the world. And that is a man I'd follow. That is a man id fight side by side with along with every other righteous man trying to make the world a better place.
Anyone else notice the sigh at the end of the song? love that touch, such a good song
The realest of real ever written in hip hop.
One of the few rappers that are keeping HIP HOP ALIVE!
What I would give to sit down and talk about life with this man.
"We still look at our selves through the eyes of people that hate us" that line hits deep
Such an underrated song by him my favorite n both revolutionary volumes
Fell in love with song when I was going through the most.... I have never stopped loving the TRUTH in the lyrics.
I have been listening to this song since I was 16, I'm 29 now. It's hard out here but it still gives me hope, thank you Immortal Technique ❤
To real to be mainstream!!!! Straight facts
Started to listen to immortal technique at age 13. He's the reason I only listened to true lyrical hip hop. He's one of the most underrated emcees in history. Bringing the truth in the form of hip hop
I have finally stumbled upon true art.
Shout out for immortal technique from the Cubans. Viva la Revolucion! Love this song, one of my favorite songs ever. So deep, mad respect for immortal technique
The revolutions started my g 💯
I'm still recovering but I've been on my missions for some time got caught in drugs and boozing and tobacco and really hurt myself now I'm recovering having heart problems I was a dumbest doing drugs and hurting innocent people
Lost sight of what I was trying to do in life and that was to redeem my family in a war and now redeem my family in the sense of sobriety and recovery to be the strongest we can for one and other I fell to the lowest of Lows and climbing back up to the top
These songs help me back to the path of virtue. It's so easy to go back to habits, but listen to this song. Be smart with your recreational activities, because you all got a fucking life out there. A life.
It's not about the views, it's about the people that actually appreciate the real music
best hip hop lyricist in history
This track got through the toughest time when I was dead broke and caught up in my hustle. If you’re going through a tough time just know that tough times don’t last. This too shall pass🙌🏽
You can really head the despair in the sigh he lets out at the end. This song is deep
1 of the deepest hard hitting songs I know from immortal, this shit is next level poetry.
the beat, the voice, the flow, the words being used, everything is perfect!
this track shares so much personalty, wisdom and a deep glimpse in a human soul. he deserves so much more respect for thinking outside of the box and connect the dots between the conflict we livin ourself as well as mankind as a whole.
Wow. Every time I discover another piece of Tech's poetry, I feel like I've wasted so much time just by not listening to it until now. This man is a master at his craft. Period.
Quit my job yesterday after having worked 11 years there. Started to kill me inside not doing what I came here to do. Knew what it was for years, but waited until now to act on it. Psychosis almost killed me, sleeping in city woods while maintaining dayjob was rough, but I saved enough to do this. And I'm a nobody, healer-in-training.
My message to you is, you can do it too. Believe in yourself, only you can do that.
This is tech's best song.. 100% positive message and vibe.
This song never gets old and has played an important role in my life. Used to listen to this as a 15 yr old kid and now I'm a 30 year old grown man. Fav song of all time.
Yeah feel it Ive been listening to this song for years. My best friend was born without a valve in his heart and died at the age of 28 from a heart infection. We would listen to this song every day smoking weed but now it means so much more to me. Been listening to this song sence I was 15 myself now im 28
Facts.. Same with me
I'm 15 and that makes me very thoughtful :)
Yo I was listening to this since I was 14 n I'm 30... I feel ya dawg. I did get caught in the hustle. I never understood what he meant by lost in the bubble
I became a special education teacher because of it.
