Hi I have just bought a small cutting of a variegated Jade (money) plant. Any further tips please? Ie should it be kept in a sunny windowsill or north facing? Which will be more favourable?
Definitely the brightest spot in your house as it is a succulent and needs all the light it can get. Assuming you are in the northern hemisphere the most ideal location would be a southern facing window.
Is the golden pothos and the philodendron Brasil the same as this or are they considered stable? My Golden pothos is mostly green, but it is allegedly naturally occurring so I'm confused 🤷🏼♀️ I'm going to hack it up if it can get the gold back 🤣 I have a Brasil on the way so wondering about it for the same reason, I can't find if it's naturally variegated or if it's going to revert like others. Don't get me wrong, I like green but I want the plants to match their names! 🤣
Golden is naturally stable unless somehow you were sold some golden cultivar unknowingly. Brasil should be stable. It’s a sport of the non-variegated version of the plant and according to the patent on it it has been determined to be stable over multiple generations. I do find that the Brasil responds pretty drastically to increases and decreases in light though.
@@AlohaPlantLife thanks! I honestly would think I had a Jade or some other green version of the golden of it didn't have the odd yellow on it. I'm going to chop it up and see what I get! I'm thinking this may be best as the ones with variegation actually seem to be more mid to top even though extremely minimal! Have you noticed if the nitrogen actually can cause reverting or just greener green? My cheap self has been using my orchid fertilizer so the nitrogen isn't the highest number but still a decent amount. I use it on everyone 🤔
@@MarisaAndChew Hard to say if it’s just the fertilizer or not, but the other vines that were heading more towards green on my pearls and jade have stopped heading more green.
Hello, new subscriber loved this video. It taught me so much. Thank you
Awesome! Welcome to the planty fam💚
I just saw two green baby leaves unfurling on my Epipremnum N'joy, and I started panicking. Luckily, you have the perfect video for me!
Glad I could help!💚
