I’m new to your channel and love your videos! Thank you for the wonderful tips you provide! I love the coat backpack straps on your jacket! I recently purchased a new jacket and would like to add them? I thought you mentioned in a video these could be added, but I cannot locate them on Amazon. Any ideas?
One of my fav hacks is to carry a large reusable grocery sack that folds down small. When going through security I put all the things that need to be taken off into the grocery bag (sweater, jackets, scarf) so it’s all contained and separated from those grimy bins. Once through security you take the bag over to wherever is convenient and reset. Reusable bag goes back in your personal bag and you run less of a risk of leaving anything. Works especially well when traveling with multiple people as it’s only 1 bag to keep up with.
I’m a former Lufthansa reservation agent and we always have to dress business appropriate when we fly, so no leggings or sweatshirts for me. I usually wear comfortable, no zipper, straight leg black pants, a white long sleeve t shirt and a knit blazer and comfortable slip on shoes. Works for me. Thanks for all your informative videos.
I dont know how anyone could be offended by anything you say. You are such a sweet endearing lady. I thoroughly enjoy your travel tips, and have used some of your great advice. Thank you do much for your videos and the demeanor you deliver them with.
A passport note: I definitely do not look cool, but once I start my journeys, I wear a neck pouch and keep my passport safe in it. In one airport I pass through, I have to show my passport four more times after checking in. I also keep all my boarding passes in the pouch. And if I have any, I keep a few dollars in the local money inside for the first taxi. I would add here, that major airport hubs require a lot of walking, so wear comfortable shoes, or at least shoes that don't hurt. You could easily be walking ten minutes !
TOTALLY AGREE - passport, boarding passes and enough cash to buy coffee or whatever without digging around in purse or personal item. I may look geeky, but I don't hold up the line fumbling around and I keep the most important things the closest.
My neighbour is a pilot and he has told us many of time to flush with one foot in the lid to avoid unwelcome showers. One thing I always do especially for European travel is pack my oldest shoes that still look good and I wear them out. I always have a start of a hole when my weeks are done and then I just toss them behind and there is my room for gifts and treats. And no blisters because they were already broke in.
I love your videos because they are practical for everyone. So many fashion channels are unrealistic when discussing travel clothes. I sweat when I sit in a hot airplane for goodness’ sake!!!
I switched my shoe laces for elastic laces (easily found on Amazon) so my tennis shoes slip on and off easily. Years and years ago I wore a long dress on a flight, tucked the back into my underpants in the “bouncing broom closet” and gave a few rows of passengers a free show before I noticed. I just laughed, oh well! 😂💕💕 Love your videos!
I really like your videos, but I do have one issue. Your clothes are so pretty, but I don’t have a budget for a sweater that costs over $100. Would you be able to supply some less expensive outfits? Thanks!
Also, inspect your clothes to make sure they don't have any shiny/metallic threads or sequins. Those things LIGHT UP like a Christmas tree when you go through the machines, then they have to pull you aside and check you manually.
1991 flight home from Hawaii - I was in shorts & my seat mate a flight attendant from Canada said "You are going to freeze". So at 0300 I was changing into my Tracky Dacks (Tracksuit trousers) in my seat as I was cold. I NEVER made that mistake ever again !!!!
I sometimes teach overseas in unusual places. My trips are almost always over 20 hours long and sometimes almost 30. I would never wear jeans. I now wear llbean navy, double knit pants -- not pretty but after 10 or 15 hours I don't care. I wear a good t shirt and well fitted cotton sweater. I do carry a long scarf though I am very careful with it. It works for heat, a rolled up neck pillow, and for modesty at my destinations. If I am not wearing socks, I have good quality footlets so I don't have to go barefooted through security.
My go to airplane travel outfit is a nice pair of joggers, a t-shirt or polo style shirt, a lightweight jacket, and slip on athletic shoes such as Skechers or Adidas. I tend to always be hot on planes so no heavy jackets for me.
I always love your videos Laurie, always such practical tips for regular people. I always fly carry on only, and I dress and pack my personal item as if they will make me check my carry on case and then lose it. So I choose my flight outfit not just for comfort, but also to give options for several outfits when combined with what I have in my personal item bag. Generally my heaviest and nicest slacks on the plane (comfy elastic waist casual dressy knit pants), with a somewhat dressy tank shell, a t-shirt, a long sleeve blouse, a sweater, and my Scottevest vest which has enough pockets to serve as essentially another free carry on. Plus a jacket on colder months. And always a scarf for the plane. Once I am seated, I can take off anything that is too hot, wrap it in the oversized scarf, and use it as a pillow. I bring mix and match items in a compression cube in my personal item bag, and that gives me several different outfit choices even if my other clothes get lost by the airline.
I know you have said before not to wear a vest for airline travel. But I love using mine with lots of zippered pockets. I fill them at home with my in flight essentials, like gum, breath mints, hand cream, lip balm, sanitizing wipes. Then I put it on AFTER going through TSA.
I have pants in 3 colors from Lands End that are made from recycled plastic and don't wrinkle. They have a cotton knit waistband and zippered pockets. Lint and cat fur do not stick to them and they always look neat. They work in winter or summer and are easy to wash/dry. I wear a tank, button-down shirt and sometimes with a cashmere pullover in winter. I always wear a cardigan, and in winter I have a lightweight packable longer packable jacket from Lands End. In summer, I wear a lightweight cashmere scarf/shawl and in winter, I pack a heavier shawl which doubles as a blanket. I also take with me HotHands Warming Insoles which I insert in my shoes at the start of an international flight (after boarding) which keep my feet warm for 8 hours.
I really appreciate all of your videos and have learned so much! From my own experience, I have learned that the best airport outfit for myself is to do layers. I tend to run hot, but want to be prepared to be cold. A comfortable, but not too long, pair of pants (as Laurie suggested) are perfect. I like a short sleeve t shirt with a long sleeve button up/flannel over it. I like to have a scarf as well to use as a blanket or pillow as needed.
Always appreciate your tips - and these are great ones! One thing I add for me is compression socks or stockings. Even going to Hawaii... I didn’t wear them there and my feet/legs swelled something awful.
I wore a shacket on a flight to New Zealand last year. It doubled as a blanket so I didn’t have to use the airline’s blanket or bring my own. Underneath, I had on a long-sleeve half-zip sweatshirt to stay relatively warm. Worked like a charm. 😊
I have a pair of cuffed, light weight denim, khaki colour trousers that are fantastic for travelling (I bought in NEXT). They look well, don't get dirty... and best of all, because of the cuffs, they stay 'north' of my shoes in the airport and aeroplane toilets... where the floors are often wet and not the cleanest!
for the men, I bought a pair of black golf pants a few years back, and they are great for airport wear. they're made to wear with or without a belt, they fit well, don't feel too light, and are comfortable for the flight. for everybody: remember that the runway at the airport is for the planes, not for fashion shows. nobody you care about will be judging you for selecting your outfit for comfort and utility instead of for fashion. addendum: in fact, if I see you in the airport wearing clothes that will make your trip miserable in the name of fashion, I'm gonna judge you for THAT. but not in a mean way, of course.
Laurie, thanks to you & all of your tips, I travel much smarter than I did pre-pandemic. Dark joggers from Loft or JJill became part of my 3-season travel outfits 2 yrs ago; they’re so comfortable especially for long-haul flights with a nice tee or light-weight sweater. I’ve also started packing a large scarf in a compression packing cube in my personal item in case I get chilly. Thanks for another great video!
Unlike most people, I don’t get cold on a plane, I get really warm. I also travel between different climates. What I wear now is a ‘nicer’ black lounge outfit. It’s not as thick as a sweatsuit and also looks less casual. In a warm climate, I have a tank underneath and pop the top in my carry on/personal item. Also I include both a packable down vest and packable down coat. These really take up very little space and I can chose how much warmth I need. Just last week I travelled from Costa Rica (28C) to Canada (-15C) and I was completely comfortable in both climates and the various airports and planes on the trip. I appreciate your videos and have found your tips very helpful. 😊
Try Hickies to replace regular shoe laces. Makes shoes easy slip-ons. We also wear water-proof tennis shoes for travel, no need for rain boots that take up so much room.
I used to work with a friend at the Ren Fair and we sold cloaks and capes. People used to buy cloaks from us that were too long for them, saying that they would just hold them up. I did the same thing when I inherited a cloak from an old boyfriend who was moving out of the country and was downsizing. After a few years, I finally gave up and had it shortened for me. We started advising people to have them shortened and would do alterations out of sight of the patrons, just so that they wouldn't drag our beautiful cloaks through the dirt and leaves on the ground. Thirty years later, I still have that cloak and it still looks good because I don't drag it through the dirt.
Bouncing broom closet 😂😂😂. I’ve never heard a better description of an airplane restroom! Many years ago, my toddler spilled my Snappy Tom juice in my lap. There I was 32,000 feet in the air, 6 feet tall, having to take my jeans off in that bouncing broom closet and trying to wash just the crotch of said jeans. Never ever again would I get another drink on a plane with tomato juice 😮!
Good reminders about dragging clothing around on soiled surfaces when in transit. Sleek, simple, and able to add a layer is best. Coordinated pieces for various destinations make is easier to pack and enjoy a stay. Could you maybe remind folks that footwear during transit time is important? Thongs, fragile sandals, high heels and tiny slip-ons will hinder one's ability to move and scramble in an emergency. We do not need to wear combat boots, but I often see next-to-nothing footwear on airplanes. There is always the chance that an emergency means running down a concourse, over the run-way, boarding trams, etc.!! Thanks for all these videos; clear skies for all! peace
Quince Mongolian cashmere and their tshirts are awesome! I’m usually a small, but go to a medium in the tshirts. They’re body skimming, not form fitting. I hate anything that sticks totally to me.
Laurie, you're so right about getting quality items that fit well. I'd rather have one piece of cashmere than 10 of any other wool. Something I like for travel days is a travel vest with loads of pockets. I don't have to empty the pockets like pant pockets. I just take it off and put it in a gray bin. I like Saf-T-Pockets reversible styles because spills happen. Thanks for all your tips!
My family of four are traveling to Europe this summer. I’m going to have a day of travel tutorials for them to watch. Your Channel is at the top of my list!! ❤
I have those linen stripped pants from Talbots. They are so comfortable. I like your purple suitcase but saw you didn’t like the wheels. I am searching for a purple hard case carry on. I have a dark purple carry on from Ricardo with matching checking bag that I love but when I travel in the winter I want to find a hard case set. Having all purple bags helps me find them easier and they don’t get confused when traveling with friends. 😃
Laurie, I loooove your videos. I don't get to travel very often anymore, but you have helped soooo much. You always have some nugget of info that is a "why didn't I think of that " moment.😊😊 thank you
One of my friends who travels for work had a list of clothes for various travel situations. When I made her stop and hear me that I was going from Canada to Cuba they reduced the “travel” list to loose jeans, a long sleeved light weight henley top, a zipper hoodie, sneakers or flats, soft ball cap and sunglasses.
Hi Laurie. I love your travel tips and feel you do a great job in presenting them. However, would you please recommend clothing and other items that are not so expensive? Thank you.
We are taking off soon for 3 weeks in France with only carry ons. Several clothing items I am taking are quality but I'm tired of them and ready for them to be donated. After I've worn them a few times on the trip I will leave them at the hotel with a sticky post it that reads, "for you", in french. That will free my carry on up to bring a few things home. Au Revior
So many great tips! I made the mistake of wearing a loose lightweight jacket through security. I was pulled aside while an agent used the wand over me. Didn't make that mistake again. Lol... Thank you so much Laurie, these tips help so much! 💜
Thank you for the great tips. I have a grey colored lightweight (but warm) shawl that I can wear to the airport, or keep in my carry on. I use it on the plane as a blanket if I get cold, or at my destination over a sleeveless dress for cooler evenings. It can also be rolled up and used as a pillow or neck support.
Laurie I have been watching your channel for some time now and I love it! You have such great ideas and suggestions. My husband and I love to travel and I now feel that I am pretty good at it in regards as to what to wear NOT to wear and how to pack. We just had a 3 week vacation in Cuba and I had a great outfit to wear on the plane from cold to the warmer climate as well as mixed and matched items to wear while there. I suggest to my travelling friends to watch your channel for ideas. Can`t wait for the next trip.
Hi Laurie! I've been watching your videos in preparation for a trip to Scotland. We leave tomorrow!! Your videos are so informative and you explain things so well. Thank you for helping this NOT so frequent flyer!! ❤🎉
I love your videos. Because of your great advice, I finally landed on a perfect travel outfit “for me”. And, boring or not, I wear it every flying day because it works. Hot or cold weather. My travel OOTD: Black stretchy no zip jeans, black thin cool long sleeved silky tee, black thin minimal-fleeced zipped hoodie, compression socks, side-zipped water resistant booties. I add a colorful scarf with a zippered pocket to hold phone, tickets, ID during the TSA/boarding process. Very minimal jewelry. Thank you for your advice.
Another tip: move things you need access to during your flight, from your pant pockets, into your shirt pockets (gum; ear plugs, cell phone, eyeglasses, etc.) because the disappearing leg-room restricts access for your hands to reach into your pant pockets, especially in the dreaded middle seat.
I am heading out soon on a long overdue trip. I am only carrying on. I’ve learned so much from your videos that I am confident in doing that for the first time ever. Thank you so much!
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie I ordered the opal grey. It looks more white in the photo. I prefer light neutral colors so it worked great for me. Also great for visibility at night ;-)
Don't wear a jumpsuit or a romper! Even with TSA PreCheck, I had to remove my short boots. Because they are my bulkiest, yet most comfortable shoes, I'll still wear them, but it's good to be mentally prepared for that extra step.
Thanks Laurie! Great tips! Another aspect of the oversized clothing I don’t believe occurs to people is the seats are so tiny, if you’re in oversized clothing, you could easily be taking up more than your share of space. Like you Laurie, us smaller women always tend to get seated by someone larger than us. Seems I end up sharing my tiny area with whomever is seated next to me. If they’re in large clothing, it just makes it even harder.
Thanks for the tips. Last flight I went to latch my seatbelt and put my fingertips right into a pile of fresh blueberries off of someone’s parfait. If I had of had light pants on it would have been ruined with stains. I had been seated for at least 15 minutes before discovering the moist blueberries. Fortunately, staff helped me clean it up. 😮
As always, another great video. I appreciate learning from your experiences. BTW, the link for the jacket with the straps actually takes you to a Nordstrom’s cashmere sweater.
If travelling with a baby/toddler bring a change of clothes (or at least a t-shirt/top) for yourself (as well as baby) which is easily accessible. My 6 month old threw up all over me before take off. I had change for her but not for me. All my clothes were checked. I also flew alone with her. Cabin crew were not helpful!
Knowing i was getting straight off the plane, going to a club meeting & dinner. I decided to wear the skirt & top i was wearing out to dinner at my destination. It’s a beautiful skirt. Dark blue background with a vaguely hawaiian-ish floral print. Wrap, ruffles, about 10 miles of fabric and sooo floaty! 🥰 I must have spent half the flight trying to keep it off the innocent bystanders in the seats either side of me and the other half trying to stop it sliding off my thighs and exposing my hoo-ha. OMG! Thank god it was only a 2hr flight. My long suffering row companions must have been so glad to see the end of me. Heck, I was glad to see the end of myself! Hindsight! I love your travel tips! Wish i’d seen this one a few months ago 😂
I am still making some of the same mistakes with my outfit. It's hard to explain that it's stressful having to fuss about the outfit pieces in the airplane, but when it happens to you, you remember. Thanks for your story!
One flight was so hot, I bought a foldable fan just in case for next time. The connecting flight was freezing. I used my foldable puffer coat as a blanket but put it on backwards so not to bother my seat mates. FYI! I have long curly hair and one time had the TSA agent look through my hair. I have had a pat down because of my underwire bra too. Both were out of state flights. My parents also stated that going out of country; that some of their customs checks ended with all their clothes removed from them suitcases and thrown everywhere.
I've gone through walk-through scanners, followed by check by hand scanners, followed by pat-downs in the Philippines. Don't get upset! Just go with the flow. Sometimes, it's just because we're Americans!
I get patted down by tsa every time! I think it’s the wire in my bra? I like to wear dark jeans with stretch. Joes Jeans for me. We are always off from LAX to somewhere tropical so I tend to wear a light tshirt with a hooded sweatshirt. The hooded sweatshirt is so helpful when someone sits next to you with too much fragrance.
The black striped backpack is Great! Unless you’re one of those “just in case” packers like me. I used the all black version on a return trip from Puerto Rico and it barely fit under the seat in front of me because of all the extra stuff in it. And I ended up not using half the stuff that I packed as “just in case” items. Great advice! A lot to think about regarding outfits the next time I travel.
I love wearing my shawl... I have no issues with it, keeps me warm if im cold and if I dont want to wear it, I usually fold it and sit on it.. I cant fly without my shawl.. some things I just dont want to change. I prepare before I sit for my seatbelt, I prepare my shawl.. these steps are put into place before I even sit.. depending what seat im in, how far is the toilet, emergency exits, so many thoughts in a short time is helpful to prepare then it only takes seconds.. I am allowed at least 60 seconds to put my carry on up in the compartment, get my seat ready and im done.. I wear knee high boots, I wear jewels, belts, hat.. im going the way I want to dress because its the beginning of my holiday.. yeah I usually wear comfortable clothes anyway, just not what you mention.. the alarm goes off, I get checked out, I dont mind this part neither, its nice chatting to airport staff.. but your tips are very good. im not complaining, im just sharing because thats what I do.. be yourself and if you wear funky, you will be fine.. I hate flying so it helps calm me to wear what I want and feel comfortable.. being in a work uniform 50 weeks of the year, my holidays, I love dress ups because I dont get a chance otherwise.. 🤷♀
So practical and seems so obvious, but I wore a light color pants on a long flight just last month… and of course it got stained... lesson learned. Or I can just watch your videos and not making more mistakes in the future. Thanks for sharing ❤
This is a great video. I could not believe the amount of people in Rompers and sandals 😂🤦🏽♀️ last year when I was in a cross Atlantic flight. Do people not realize they are going to be at an altitude 30,000 feet plus for a lot of hours? The biggest mistake I made I think was wearing terry jeggings once because I was very cold once we reached cruising altitude
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie I love you and your channel Laurie 💗. I like to dress in layers because my experiences have been thats it’s very cold up 30,000 feet in the air, and yes, it was horribly humid in Canada so I really wanted to take everything off when we landed.
Your joggers look like scrub pants! I’ve had patients tell me they would like to buy my pant style for travel. They are “Healing Hands Tori 9133 cargo yoga pants” (they are pants, not leggings). Very lightweight and they come in many colors!!
In spring of 2023 Walmart carried colored stretch cropped jeans. I find them lighter and comfortable, and I’m short. I don’t know if they will be available this year.
Oops I thought you were another gal from California. Can you go to their stores? Maybe they are in store if sold out online. Colored denim always seems to be lighter weight to me too.
My 'hotel shoes' are lightweight ballet-type slippers. They go in a pocket of my personal bag. First thing I do, after arriving inside the terminal, before even _thinking_ of going to security is to find a seat, take off my shoes, pull on a pair of foot sox (disposable liner socks for trying on shoes) and put on those slippers. Bag the shoes and place in my personal bag. Get in line - pop the slippers in the grey bin, collect my stuff on the other side, take off the footies and put my slippers back on. *After* I get out of the security area, I can put my regular shoes back on at my lesiure, toss the foot sox, and go on my way.
Thanks Laurie! I've shared a number of your videos to my family leading up to our Europe trip last December. I followed your lead, and thru delays and gate changes, my family of 3 was cool as a cucumber. The others insisted on their own way and either got held up at TSA or lost their luggage or waited over an hour in baggage claim 😁😅.
Hi ms laurie! I think women should not wear wired, push-up bras during a flight or tight panties. Triumph Zero Feel bras and Uniqlo Airism bras are super comfortable, you forget you are wearing them. A bonus point is that these dry super quickly when u wash them at your destination. 😊
Why would anyone wear extra-long pants that would track and trail in things? I haven’t heard of that since my teens in the ‘70s when there was a brief fad to wear those huge elephant-bell jeans that girls particularly would let drag and scrape on the ground and the floors until they wore holes and wore off.
I learned my lesson with wearing knee high boots. My ankles and calves got an extra pat down. Never again. My airport outfit is a pair of jeans, a t-shirt or sweatshirt, my heaviest jacket, and gym shoes or a jogging suit and gym shoes. It's easier.
Have you ever mentioned what you should be putting in your suitcase tags? I thought I heard somewhere to not put you name and address but just put your phone number on it. Is this true?
There are not as many clothing options here in NZ as there are in the US; especially if you are over a size 16 (there are still supply chain issues going back to 2022). I'm having to import garments from other countries :(
I (also a pilot wife) often wear leggings as tights... I like the options it gives me when switching climates... I wear a skirt on top, so, in still dressed up enough. I usually wear a tank top with a cardigan... I have all of the options for temperature changes.
I’m a guy, but I watch your clothing videos anyway because the same principles apply. I like pockets, so I tend to wear a fleece jacket, collared shirt, and slacks. I like wearing blue and/or black to avoid obvious stains and for feeling put-together and confident.
I have a raincoat shell that has huge zippered pockets. everything that is normally in my pants and shirt pockets except my Leatherman Micra goes into my jacket pockets, and then I can just dump the jacket in the bin. (the leatherman either stays home or goes in checked luggage.)
Thank you, Laurie) I got curious, why are leggings not allowed for pilot's wife? It is your free time, right? Even in many offices there are days with legere clothing, without suits. Just curiuos )

Oh what an awesome trip!@@debbieharrington441
I’m new to your channel and love your videos! Thank you for the wonderful tips you provide! I love the coat backpack straps on your jacket! I recently purchased a new jacket and would like to add them? I thought you mentioned in a video these could be added, but I cannot locate them on Amazon. Any ideas?
Oh thank you for watching! I heard a couple of years ago that one viewer found straps on Etsy.@@lynnevandewalle3829
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie thank you so much!
It‘s a really good idea. Thank you.
Love that outfit hack for the airport!!
You're the best!
I encountered multiple passport requests in the Manchester, England Airport. Great advice.
Yes, wear your best walking shoes for those far away gate trips. My boarding passes are on my 📱 iPhone, and my passport is in my bumbag.
Oh my gosh, I would have died. Worst fear!
The good part was I was wearing proper undies and not a thong. 😂. Still, never wearing a dress again on a plane. 😜🤦♀️
bwhahaha@@pamw8102
Those elastic shoe laces are The Best, I’ve done the same.
They just arrived yesterday! Now how do I use them lol? @@alexbishop5870
I really like your videos, but I do have one issue. Your clothes are so pretty, but I don’t have a budget for a sweater that costs over $100. Would you be able to supply some less expensive outfits? Thanks!
If you watch many of her videos you will find she has Amazon sweaters less than $25, Amazon Essentials, great value. I have 3 of them.
Same! Jeans are a no go for me. Too thick, even with a lot of stretch fabric woven in
Really. I see women and men in tight jeans and can't imagine how uncomfortable they must be after 6 or 7 hours. We are smart !
@@seastarbutterfly
My go to airplane travel outfit is a nice pair of joggers, a t-shirt or polo style shirt, a lightweight jacket, and slip on athletic shoes such as Skechers or Adidas. I tend to always be hot on planes so no heavy jackets for me.
Same.....I already have my outfit planned
Bouncing broom closet! I love it! Great outfit tips Laurie. 🥰🧳
And your comfy pants were Lands End?
LL Bean. "Perfect Fit pants".
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie
Thanks for your ideas!!
YES! I love Dr. Scholls compression socks that look like business socks on Amazon.
Great Idea!!! Thx!
I wore a shacket on a flight to New Zealand last year. It doubled as a blanket so I didn’t have to use the airline’s blanket or bring my own. Underneath, I had on a long-sleeve half-zip sweatshirt to stay relatively warm. Worked like a charm. 😊
That sounds versatile and comfortable for a flight.
When you find a good travel outfit piece, it is so helpful!
for the men, I bought a pair of black golf pants a few years back, and they are great for airport wear. they're made to wear with or without a belt, they fit well, don't feel too light, and are comfortable for the flight.
for everybody: remember that the runway at the airport is for the planes, not for fashion shows. nobody you care about will be judging you for selecting your outfit for comfort and utility instead of for fashion.
addendum: in fact, if I see you in the airport wearing clothes that will make your trip miserable in the name of fashion, I'm gonna judge you for THAT. but not in a mean way, of course.
Great idea!
Having just broken my arm on arrival in Japan, carrying a pair of elastic waisted pants is a must. I couldn't do my jeans up!
Thanks for your ideas!
Thanks for all these videos; clear skies for all! peace
I also thought about those big clothes maybe being dangerous in an emergency.
Thanks Laurie. You always have the best tips and tricks. You have made my travel days so much easier.
Thanks for the rec!!
You are so kind and thoughtful in how you word your videos. I enjoy watching them and often watch more than once. Thank you for all the great info.
I'll wear Kiziks sneakers which are hands-free shoes. They make a waterproof variety called Wasatch
My family of four are traveling to Europe this summer. I’m going to have a day of travel tutorials for them to watch. Your Channel is at the top of my list!! ❤
Thanks so much! And have a fun memorable vacation!
Have you checked Calpak? I have not felt them yet.
Laurie, I loooove your videos. I don't get to travel very often anymore, but you have helped soooo much. You always have some nugget of info that is a "why didn't I think of that " moment.😊😊 thank you
I think it’s great to point out how clothing choice can be an issue when trying to get situated in your seat.
So true! Like when I was showing trying to get out to use the lavatory mid-flight.
I love love your blue blouse you can wear it in the morning and in the evening with a cute accessory
I love it!
Hi Laurie. I love your travel tips and feel you do a great job in presenting them. However, would you please recommend clothing and other items that are not so expensive? Thank you.
Hi, you can follow me on the LTK app or my outfit page on www.amazon.com/shop/traveltipsbylaurie
Au Revior
Perfect and hope your trip is delicious and wonderful!
I remember a few years back of you saying to never travel while wearing a poncho lol
So many great tips! I made the mistake of wearing a loose lightweight jacket through security. I was pulled aside while an agent used the wand over me. Didn't make that mistake again. Lol... Thank you so much Laurie, these tips help so much! 💜
Great job!
Great point!
I love the story you tell about yourself and the waterproof jacket. It make me feel better! ❤️
Thanks so much; I am glad it served you well!
I love your channel. It has helped me so much as a rookie traveler! Thank you 😊
You are so welcome!
Hi Laurie! I've been watching your videos in preparation for a trip to Scotland. We leave tomorrow!! Your videos are so informative and you explain things so well. Thank you for helping this NOT so frequent flyer!! ❤🎉
I really like the top you are wearing in this video.
Always great info and recommendations!
Thanks Laurie, traveling this week🎉🎉🎉
I love your videos. Because of your great advice, I finally landed on a perfect travel outfit “for me”. And, boring or not, I wear it every flying day because it works. Hot or cold weather. My travel OOTD: Black stretchy no zip jeans, black thin cool long sleeved silky tee, black thin minimal-fleeced zipped hoodie, compression socks, side-zipped water resistant booties. I add a colorful scarf with a zippered pocket to hold phone, tickets, ID during the TSA/boarding process. Very minimal jewelry. Thank you for your advice.
There ya go! One and done but helpful.
“Say hey” Laurie. Love you and all your tips. We are traveling to Norway and I’m worried I’ll pack too much because I’m afraid to get cold 🥶.
Great tip! Yes essentials can spill out of your pockets.
I am heading out soon on a long overdue trip. I am only carrying on. I’ve learned so much from your videos that I am confident in doing that for the first time ever. Thank you so much!
Yay, will you mix and match your outfits? Have so much fun!
Great timing! Got that Bernardo jacket on sale and in my size! Thanks for the link!
You will love it! What color?
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie I ordered the opal grey. It looks more white in the photo. I prefer light neutral colors so it worked great for me. Also great for visibility at night ;-)
I hope you love it like I do!@@lollygee172
I wear travel outfit coming and going only, and keep separate from other clothes for sanitary reasons.
Yes, my flight attendant friend here would say the same thing.
Excellent! Thanks again . Kisses from a Brazilian ,who is going to Florida within 2 weeks. 😗😗😗
Oh yay! Enjoy that sunshine.
Don't wear a jumpsuit or a romper! Even with TSA PreCheck, I had to remove my short boots. Because they are my bulkiest, yet most comfortable shoes, I'll still wear them, but it's good to be mentally prepared for that extra step.
Love your videos Laurie. I have changed the way I pack and what I bring along on a trip. You give great advice. Always look forward to a new video❤
Thanks for sharing!!
So true!
Lucky you for inheriting genes that tend to make you smaller! Many of us struggle our ENTIRE LIVES to become a smaller size acceptable to you!
I love your advice. I do travel a lot by plane but always learn something from your videos. Thank you.
Happy to help!
Started watching your videos to help plan an upcoming trip to Boston. I’m really loving your site. So informative. Thank you!
Awesome! Thank you!
Oh how funny! How in the world
Love your joggers/leggings...i wear similar Lululemon Rulu joggers traveling from Ireland to European destinations
As always, another great video. I appreciate learning from your experiences. BTW, the link for the jacket with the straps actually takes you to a Nordstrom’s cashmere sweater.
Thx!
Costco and Old Navy (on sale) have great joggers.
I wish Costco had dressing rooms lol.
I must have spent half the flight trying to keep it off the innocent bystanders in the seats either side of me and the other half trying to stop it sliding off my thighs and exposing my hoo-ha.
4/24 Target has plastic folding fans for $1. I bought one for my travel partner and myself.
It is a great bag. You can do it!
Love your comments, Can you do airline bathroom etiquette.
Hi, I cannot.
Happy New Year! Loving the tips. Flying a few times this year! Loving all your bracelets today ❤
So practical and seems so obvious, but I wore a light color pants on a long flight just last month… and of course it got stained... lesson learned. Or I can just watch your videos and not making more mistakes in the future. Thanks for sharing ❤
I hear ya!
That's why you always carry a Tide pen !
It can be sol cold or so hot-I never know.
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie I love you and your channel Laurie 💗. I like to dress in layers because my experiences have been thats it’s very cold up 30,000 feet in the air, and yes, it was horribly humid in Canada so I really wanted to take everything off when we landed.
Excellent ideas and tips, thank you.
I get really warm. Can you take a small rechargeable fan on the plane
Love your cute pink jumper
Love your channel Laurie. I love to travel and your tips are so helpful.
Your joggers look like scrub pants! I’ve had patients tell me they would like to buy my pant style for travel. They are “Healing Hands Tori 9133 cargo yoga pants” (they are pants, not leggings). Very lightweight and they come in many colors!!
Anything with too much fabric hanging is also that much more difficult to manage in the lavatory!
So helpful!!
Experience helps so much and trusting the tips!
Hello Laurie! Thank you for sharing your time and knowledge with us!God Bless you and your family!
Thanks again!!
I like wearing knit joggers when flying…especially in the bouncing broom closet. 😂 Love your videos!
I do love my Loft joggers that I showed.
Bouncing broom closet 😂
Wasn't that the funniest mental image?!
Thank you Sasha!
The underwire bra is an invention of the devil... a male of course.
#1 Rule for airplane clothes is bottoms that won’t drag on the airplane bathroom. #2 for any travel is printed tops.
Yes that was number 4 at the beginning of this video.
I LOVE AND APPRECIATE YOU!
PLEASE HELP ME TO CHOOSE A GREAT WEEKENDER BAG FOR TRAVIELING❤

Have you ever mentioned what you should be putting in your suitcase tags? I thought I heard somewhere to not put you name and address but just put your phone number on it. Is this true?
Hi, I would put my email and phone.
Thank you so much for your valuable travel tips
There are not as many clothing options here in NZ as there are in the US; especially if you are over a size 16 (there are still supply chain issues going back to 2022).
I'm having to import garments from other countries :(
I (also a pilot wife) often wear leggings as tights... I like the options it gives me when switching climates... I wear a skirt on top, so, in still dressed up enough. I usually wear a tank top with a cardigan... I have all of the options for temperature changes.
Thanks for sharing!
Hi, if they did not have requirements, the extremists would take it too far.
