  • Leaving Bardenas Reales behind and having one more breakdown (my oil cooler split inside the radiator mixing the oil with coolant) on the way to Bilbao to catch our ferry the next morning. After a night in a hostel we set sail to Portsmouth before saying goodbye to Team Faff's southern division and heading north to home.
    2800 driven miles, one engine change and a whole lot of laughs. We met up with some great friends old and new and we were looked after wherever we went.
    Hope you enjoyed it.

    Great Adventure. Fantastic videos, and hard work to edit - many thanks for all the excellent content. Good to see Series Ones without door-tops - way to go. Good fun to get the windscreen down too. "Team Faff will return!" - we certainly hope so.

    Team Faff, hugging their way round the world!
    Thanks for all the hard work planning, driving, filming and then editing these inspirational trips. It shows what can be achieved in a leafer when lots of owners seem to worry about driving 50 miles to a car show!

      MarktheOddJob cheers, hugging, drinking and breaking down in beautiful places, that’s what it’s all about 😉. No point having a massive Land Rover shaped paperweight, may as well use it! Might be hard to beat this one....
      We have an idea for 2021 though....
      Cheers pal.

      John Snow is that a good thing or bad??

    • @johnsnowvideo
      @johnsnowvideo 5 років тому

      @@130vidal No, not a bad thing...love the video sequences, accompanying music tracks and of course the humour. If anything I would like to see a proper walkthrough of the vehicles, especially "FBO 871" and it's trailer that was used in a previous series. I subscribed early on, and for awhile thought you guys stopped making videos, so for me it would be great to have some background. Keep them videos coming! Cheers from Somerset West, South Africa!!!

    • @130vidal
      @130vidal  5 років тому +1

      John Snow hi, we don’t get out for big trips very often. The Euro trips every 2 years, there may be a weekend UK trip possibly next year. As for my motor it’s nothing special, it’s an old competition trialler with a bent chassis. 200 Tdi with 2a running gear. It has brackets in the back for some proper seats when needed for the kids. It’s not in the best condition but as it’s used a lot (I only have this and an old 109 for my only transport) it does have a bit of reliability. The trailer is a WW2 Jeep trailer.
      Cheers Steve.

    Guys fab videos. I’m respraying my Series 2A at the moment. Was thinking of copying your Union Jack idea on the bonnet. How did you go about doing that and where did you get your paints from. VMT. Looking fwd to the next adventures.

    • @130vidal
      @130vidal  4 роки тому +1

      Nigel Moreland hi, my best mate (co driver in the these videos did the bonnet about 13 years ago. He is a painter by trade now. Not sure what he did but I know you need to start with some etch primer.
      Cheers Steve

    Love the videos! keep them coming. I have a question on your wheel set up. What rims are you running and what is your tire size? I like how you have them running out to edges of the wheel well. I would like to have this setup on my S2. Any advice on achieving this is much appreciated

    • @130vidal
      @130vidal  4 роки тому +1

      Francis Hinchey hi, thanks. I am running 2a axles with 1 Ton rims that are a bit wider than the standard ones, with 750 tyres. On a an S1 it fills it out a bit more.
      Cheers Steve.

    Why the pushing out the boat ? And how’s the 300tdi settling in ? I imagine he’s suddenly getting 40mpg !

      Anderzander they left the fridge plugged in😆. The Tdi is ok but could do with a new turbo at some point.

      Roger Wileman it was the built in oil cooler that split in the radiator, mixing all the oil with coolant.
