If you are interested in the influence these guys had on me and my own music, please check out my band Nomadic Horizon - nomadichorizonband.com Thanks!
Similar experience: Rush Tour May 1981 Binghamton, NY center stage too, but it was general admission and I had to claw my way to the front. FM blew me away and I made it a mission that summer to track down their albums.
I remember as a 17-year-old music lover soon-to-become -a-bass-player young dude thinking that this type of music was what the future was being represented by not realizing just how uniquely talented these guys were and that music would not be going in that direction by any means. A decade later after the 80s keyboard revolution had been out, it dawned on me it wasn't gonna happen. The pop music musicianship was simply not advanced enough musically as far as the average talent level plus, as far as composers go, it was impossible. These guys made me into a dreamer in some ways.
Saw them live over 30 times. ALWAYS a great great show. They were dynamic and their music more varied with Nash but even with Ben Mink a fantastic live band!
Saw them years ago in Hamilton. Cameron and Nash but two different guys (guitar and drums). Talked with the "new" guys after the show and they were assholes.
Great band, great music! Too bad, we do not see band like that anywhere no more! Today’s garbage music, no musicianship. HipHop stuff is a total disgrace.
Thanks for this. I cannot count how many times i saw them (with Nash or Ben). Must have been at least 40. Just a great live band, especially when the bandaged guy was part of the band, great memories!! PS great song for a long drive
My fave FM 1. Just Like You (Best 80's video. Period.) 2. All of the Dreams 3. Truth or Consequences 4. Silence 5. The '85 Masonic Temple - Surface to Air, Friends n Neighbors/Phasors 6. Until the night is over 7. Take the Time to Dream, Aldebaran, The wolf (nash), Black noise Alone Together, Dream Girl, Magic in your eyes, Psychotic Reaction, 19th.....................
HAPPY CANADA DAY! Time to bust out the roto-toms, mandolin and mini-Moog to take a journey across time and space with Canada's original progressive rock band … FM! ua-cam.com/video/z0b0uTBbayY/v-deo.html
I'll go a bit further to say it was FM that inspired Rush to start using keys and sequences! and I still maintain that Ben Mink is a master soloist ...

In 1980 I ran out and bought my first mandolin and a pickup, and played my fm records and learned to play along. Great times! Great band!
Martin Dellar is such an underrated drummer.
Nash is full beast mode this night
Saw them open for Rush Moving Pictures Tour 1981 Seattle. 3rd row reserved. Hard to top those kind of shows.
That got me totally hooked on their City of Fear album. I still love it to this day, epic!
I think that was FM UK a totally different band which I actually liked thinking it was the original FM. I was fooled LOL
FANTASTIC, Saw Rush several times since 1980. NEVER got to witness these guys live.
Similar experience: Rush Tour May 1981 Binghamton, NY center stage too, but it was general admission and I had to claw my way to the front. FM blew me away and I made it a mission that summer to track down their albums.
saw the same tour at the Cap center in Maryland

That's Martin Deller, one of Neil Peart's favorites.
I've never seen any live performances from FM before. What a great band. Thanks for uploading this.

Damn, that brought back memories and tears in 2019.
Cameron Hawkins and Geddy Lee very similar musicians, Bass, Keys and vocals...
Indeed, Cameron's voice sounds great still...Geds notsomuch.
Very similar! I asked Geddy and he agreed they have a lot in common and are good friends! They looked alike in the 70's!!! Its really weird!!
First time I've seen this with Nash playing. Great stuff.
Neat, I have never seen this video (nor heard the song). It's good to see Cameron Hawkins playing bass :).
It's from FM's "City Of Fear" album. A very good album
You meed to check out the entire CITY OF FEAR ALBUM.

Bad record company, bad!!!
Poor mans Rush
Are you sure about that? Cam was "multi tasking" before Ged, and Rush has thanked them in multiple album cover notes.
Crappy record company's Rush...
