So that was disturbing 💀
This episode definitely introduces a very important part of Kim’s character: her compartmentalization. She can justify doing bar scams like last episode as after hours fun, but she feels completely differently when it actually involves her profession as a lawyer.
And this is why she’s my favorite character. She could have easily fallen into the “nagging moral wife” stereotype or the “bad girl enabler” stereotype, but instead she’s a fully realized, complex character. She has contradictions and flaws. She doesn’t exist solely to bounce off Jimmy, she’s a full person in her own right
She's all about that work-life balance.
Well eventually it leaks.
I love the big reveal with Howard, that he doesn't have anything against Jimmy and it's just that he respects and is loyal to Chuck to a fault. He's not a villain, just too good of a friend to somebody who probably doesn't deserve it.
"If I had to put it in a word, loyalty. Only maybe you got it for the wrong guy."
This episode is brilliant. Watching back, it's so interesting to see how Chuck's life mission becomes to stop Slipping Jimmy from becoming a lawyer... and in doing so creates a criminal mastermind with a law degree. He armed the chimp with the machine gun
Butterfly effect. Chuck created Saul. Saul allowed Walter White to become Heisenburg. And of course we know the fallout from that.
It's great how they make you think Howard is going to be some 2-dimensional "he's the bad guy in a suit" cliche but he's actually a good guy in most respects.
I also love how the same question is now creeping into your head that creeped into ALL our heads while we were watching this show: "Wait, what happened to Kim?"
So true, and the way Howard talks was one of the reasons I initially had him down as a 2 dimensional evil corporate dude character but that assumption was blown away very quickly. So many rich characters where my assumptions were challenged!
Poor, poor Howard
Howard is one of my favs forreal. He really cares but keeps it professional to the point where his intentions are sometimes obfuscated. Really intriguing dude.
I genuinely love his character. Excited to see where it goes!
@@JamesVSCinemaknowing where you are in the series, I can safely post this reply;
Eeeeesssshhhh
Where are all these bowling balls coming from?
@@derbydriver "really, there's no need to"
I love how excited we all were with seeing Saul and Mike back after Breaking Bad and how they could expand on their characters, but the inclusion of Howard, Kim, Nacho and even Chuck appearing now just makes this cast explode with talent. Every new edition to this plot is amazing at what they do, can't wait for you to see the whole journey, these are so good.
Plus another character James hasn't been properly introduced to yet
Howard is genuinely one of my favourite characters in the show. Like, what they do with him isn't rocket science, but it is the small tweaks on the expectation that just really land so well.
You’re thinking of his coffee mug by the way. His coffee mug said “Worlds Best Lawyer” in Breaking Bad. When this show was coming out, Kim giving him the mug that said “Worlds 2nd Best Lawyer” made everyone scared for Kim haha
Also a fun tidbit - Michael McKean is a hugely accomplished guitarist (Spinal Tap!) and joked in an interview about the fact they had Chuck play the piano instead, which he doesn't play. It does, as you say, fit the model in terms of his descent into villainy!
So… do you understand why we thirst so hard for Kim? SHES SO GOOD
We love Kim here ♥️🤘🏽
we ride or die for Kim and her ponytail
@@jaives kim, kims ponytail, and kims feet. The holy trinity
James, my wife and I were right there with you watching this show after Breaking Bad. The more she showed out, every episode was met with: "Goddamnit what happens to Kim, man?!"
And I think all of us, when we get into our older years, strive to be like Mike. He's an inspiration for dealing with life, stoic and careful.
Also, that sweatshirt Kim's wearing was a huge hit for my wife's birthday a couple of years back. Etsy rules.
Hey yo. For you YT people, James has finished the show and every episode is available on patreon right now. $5 for a month is a decent deal vs waiting until... literally 2025 for him to finish this show on UA-cam.
Hahaha read that as you saying “for you white people” 😂
@@JamesVSCinema That is so funny, lmao
It's cool, by then it'll be about time for GTA 6 to release, so it all works out lol.
@@ZenShroud1 I'll take that bet.
I always burst out laughing when Mike's coffee cup and booth begin to shake; the rumbling of earth followed by the monstrosity of Pryce's truck to roll up to the booth.
“Looks like a school bus for six year old pimps”
Funniest line of the series
Kim is such a boss is this show!! I can't say it enough. haha! Can't wait to see your reaction to her growth through the show! Let's Go!
Love the symbolism of the tumbler not fitting in the cupholder of Jimmy's company car, just as Jimmy will never fully fit in as the completely ethical, straight-laced lawyer that D&M expect him to be.

Much love!
WE'RE 6 MONTHS BEHIND???😭
holy i had no idea u were doing mr robot thats insanely hype
The character arcs for Chuck and Howard is something else. You start the show hating Howard and sympathizing with Chuck and by show's end, they flipped both characters. Damn great writing and damn fantastic acting.
Kim is one of my favorite characters in tv history
BOSTON CREME SPLAT
DUTCH APPLE ASS! Guys am I not speaking English here?!
Kim becomes the main character above Jimmy at one point. She's amazing. So excited to see that you like her. And her acting is amazing, there is a scene in a couple of seasons that brings me to tears every time I watch it because she's so convincing.
Mike will continue doing Mike things and will become a more central character in the series, as opposed to the side character he is now.
With respect to Chuck, I think he's just a person who has a very rigid moral system and is consumed by having a little bother who is a shameless criminal. He loves his little brother, but he just doesn't know how to cope with him. Especially after his little brother "forces" himself into becoming his colleague and a peer. That sends him over the edge.
Chuck's big problem is that he cannot accept that he also hates Jimmy a bit. He thus sees his actions against Jimmy as righteous and he fails to see how his bias is clouding his judgement.
The more this show keeps going, the better it gets. Great reaction James, hope you’re doing well. Take care!
Edit: also Rhea Seehorn is so damn good in this show.
Not enough people watching or reacting to ATLANTA!! One of the best shows in the last 20 years!
The annoying guy in the Hummer is in another show you should watch called :"What We Do in the Shadows"
"I hope you never learn how to play that piano, man" LMFAO. Diggin' this reaction and your thoughts on the characters/story lines. This is one of my favorite episodes (spoiler: I say that about a lot of the episodes...LOL). The key for me how the event/action (Jimmy's "cobbler" story during the interrogation scene) that's used to create one of the most hilarious scenarios and moments of the show... this exact same event that was so funny, gets turned on its head minutes later and becomes material for a very difficult, serious, and emotionally important confrontation. Completely masterful stuff. Rock on...
This episode made me laugh more than I really was physically prepared for. When I made the realization, I almost choked. Comic perfection.
Nacho's character arc is amazing
The line that isn't in this video but I think is just incredible is when Nacho describes Pryce's car as a "school bus for six year old pimps" 😂
I fell in love with this character - just amazing.
My dad watched through BB and BCS as they came out, rewatched them with me and on this episode he could not stop laughing before we even got to the cobbler scene.
Awesome reaction of my favorite episode of Better Call Saul!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊
Cheers!!
That video actually exists. You know, if you wanted some, uh, bonus content.
Thank you for another great reaction man. So glad to be on the bcs journey with you.
That cup not fitting in the cupholder is definitely a metaphor for jimmy. And dont underestimate slippin kimmy.😂😂
Man I love that BCS constantly gets a lot of stuff pretty accurate, in the law or elsewhere. I worked in upholstery for years and that car upholstery set is so on point I felt like I was back in my old shop. Though I will say when you see them actually sewing (especially a certain scene involving a sewing machine later that I'm sure you've seen by now) they did fall flat in that area 😂 like I know Nacho's actor doesn't know how to use that thing right irl at all
A switch is also a a stick to cane people with. Like what life is hitting Jimmy with.
There is a youtube video, an extra on the season box set, that show Lester filming the the "Squat Cobbler". It is hilarious.
I am in awe of the writers. Things like the cup doesn't fit the car foreshadowing that Saul doesn't fit this job. WOW!!!
Just finished the BCS series finale and now I’m watching this right after
Chicago sunroof and squat cobbler should definitely be in Webster's dictionary.
12:44 "Multiple Forms of Death" would be a great title for something
There's a film I think you'd enjoy watching it's the 1973 film version of Eugene O'Neal's play"The Iceman Cometh" with renouned actors: Lee Marvin, William Holden, Bradford dillman, Jeff Bridges, Fredrick March and many more
This is why BCS is so good. It's an episode about a baseball card theft, family bonds, and people looking out for each other's best interests. The reaction? "Damn, this is getting intense"! and it's 100% true!
God I love Kim
15:47 McDonald’s shoes is crazy; also yeah I only have 1 brother and 4 sisters and I’m the oldest. I could never imagine doing and being Chuck
"what the hell happened to Kim, man?" A summary of me through all the series lmao
The "What happened to Kim?" question ate so hard during this show. I liked her from the beginning, but as the story continued, she legit started to become one of my favourite characters. Scrap that. She's the best.
Trust me that scene where Jimmy came up with the lie of the pie cobbler scene was one of the hardest I’ve ever laughed in this show.
For each season when you’re like midway through the season, when you post the episode you should also post another episode the next day after. like how you did with last season episode 6 and 7.
Howard is genuine a good person. A lawyer !!!!!! But a good person 😊
Michael Mckean... The guy that plays Chuck. You really should look into more of his work. Aside from maybe Steve Martin, he is BY FAR one of my favorite comedic actors of all time. The man can do anything. He's got a new one coming that I can't wait for, "This is STILL Spinal Tap" as it was being called, last I heard. The man's a legend.
Howard had a whole lotta passion
As you know . This gets so ,so much more intense !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i absolutely LOVE these reactions but when you're done i would love you to react to mr robot! i think you would love it it's the best show i've ever seen!
Watching it rn on the Patreon actually. You’ll love that when they get up on UA-cam!
You should look into “Shameless”
the love for kim grows.😊i love to see it
We all love Kim😭😭🖤🛐
I think the big/only difference in your comparison to Walter and Jimmy's partners influence is that Walter didn't have anyone telling him no until he was entirely transformed into Heisenberg, where as jimmy will be becoming Saul under the watch of his angel/s. Technically he's been defiant of those good influences his entire life, as well. It'll be interesting seeing that dichotomy play out (I'm only on S2, parallel to you)
"Mike is such a great character" and with BCS you get more of him. Enjoy.
Dude’s shoes… match the hummer!
Really been enjoying the reactions was wondering if u have seen the walking dead I think u might like it its pretty good
Speaking of Fargo in this video(which yes Martin Freeman was Lester) you thing you'd ever get to Fargo s4 and s5?
wondering how many people got into squat cobbler vids after this. lol
Damn this was 6 months ago already you must be done with the series
I want to a reaction where they see Better Call Saul before Breaking Bad. They would have to skip any parts set in the future, but that's about it. It would be interesting.
19:37 🫥
By Season 6, Kim and Nacho will be your favorite characters all time!
Where the got reactions?
I'll just leave this here--the full Squat Cobbler video: ua-cam.com/video/SIh5_Ian8Ds/v-deo.html
TV rec since I can't afford Patreon: Twin Peaks created by David Lynch and Mark Frost plus Twin Peaks Fire Walk With Me.
I swear Pryce is a side character in a videogame
GTA 5
you really know the future, then Where KIM will end up?
God I love this man, but a Philadelphia native calling a California natives passive aggressive is comical🤣
"What happened to Kim" boy you have no clue. No spoilers
Hey ma men, react to "Christine" (1983) by Stephen king & John Carpenter. Great movie with insane story. One of the best Stephen king's movie. Thanks
There some people that justify Chuch's acctions. Yes, Jimmy is not a good person, but standing in the way for even a small possibility of change is not how to do it. Even if you don't want to help your little brother, don't stand in his way either.
Kim is the MOST “wifey material” woman in fictional history
Fun fact: Chuck McGill is played by Michael McKean who was Lenny in Laverne & Shirley and is also David St. Hubbins of Spinal Tap.
He’s a very talented musician and singer.
Day one of asking you to watch Fire force.
Kim is the best.
So if your brother jumped on UA-cam and didn’t work as hard as you and ended up with a million subscribers you wouldn’t feel a way?
Nope :)
I hate his brother. Just a tedious and anyone character.
Chuck is garbage
