Tbh none of those people who say they want to live there have ever actually lived there. I was born there, and while the city is beautiful. There has always been alot of crime in NY. My mother would tell me how some places you just don't go to alone at night. Not to mention the last time I visited family, it was just negative vibes everywhere I went. I live in Florida now, and people are alot nicer here. But you may have a different experience and thats ok.

Although the vibe of the city presents itself that of a dream palace of all palaces, it has a feeling like you're trapped within giant walls and never have privacy or space to even think. If you're in the middle class, nothing is yours and only there sharing and temporarily taking up space. Nothing like having your own true home out in subs or the country.

New York is a monster city but if you haven't checked out Hong Kong and Shanghai you should because those places seem to be even bigger an more elegant than New York. They have some of the best skylines I've ever seen
