I saw her many times at the old Met. She did a lot of Wagner but I remember mostly as a wonderful and exciting Amneris. Her acting was great as well.

To be fair, there aren't too many duets between a bass and a mezzo. Perhaps the duet at the end of Samson if he could sustain the tessitura.
