So glad you posted this cuz I'm 46 and remember the days of the wheel barrow strike zone whiffle ball games. I had no idea what Blitzball was until this video. Should have brought out the fat pink frog baseball bats.
@@DropDMurphy Our whiffle ball was 3v3 with two bases like cricket. Catcher, outfield and pitcher.. and the foul line was like a V if home plate was the bottom of the V. Home run was about 25 yards to the fence. 1st base was behind the pitcher.

I will put up a video... But that was like the greatest thing ever. Our whiffleball games. We could play with 4 players too, but the extra man on offence would have to act as catcher or the batter if the other guy was on first.. We would incorporate a pitch back too so there were no wild pitches and we could tell strikes. We had a rule that if there was a putout at first then the giy at first would have to stay, and not score. The only way to get him home was a homer or a base hit. I'll get a video though. I will be at my parents this weekend. But they did put a flipping tree in so it's not as good as it used to be :( We had another game with 150ft fences with the neighbor. We would use tennis balls for this. They had moved out and the new neighbor to my parents put some livestock. I will video that too.. We had such fun as kids in the boonies. We would be the house that invited other kids over because we had so much room to play baseball. So usually every weekend there would be a couple kids over. So it was me, little bro, neighbor, neighbors sister who was a softball player so she was great to play with. Me and usually a couple kids sleeping over. Best times of my life back then. I loved baseball... Your greenmonster sounds amazing too. Sadly in my junior year of high school I blew my rotator cuff (was a pitcher from 7 yyears old to 17. I was out my junior year, and came back as a senior but wasn;'t any good anymnore. It ruined my speed. But the neat thing is that we won state when I was a senior (Elk Grove High School). We had an awesome program.
@@themomofmemes467 nah east Cobb is the best park (s) in GA also the vipers Reynolds just beat the Furia baseball from fortworth, TX and we beat the 6-4-3 double play cougars who were the defending champions last year until WE beat them and I’m the lead-off batter who had a 500. batting average that tournament going 10/20 and we played the right way baseball club and we lost 6 to 5 we should’ve won though but I hurt my elbow while going for a diving ground ball and no I’m not a wimp and when we played the furia baseball they had HUGE (and I mean HUGE kids, but obviously not as big as the kids from the banditos, and we played Miguel cabrera’s son’s team called the tbt ballers) so, yeah, we are a pretty good team not trying to brag bro just being friendly and speaking my opinion publicly 😊😊 lastly, on the furia baseball’s team they pitched number 9, a kid who basically everybody on their team (we talked to their team before the game) said threw high 70s, which was so cap because I got a lead off base hit against their supposedly fast pitcher and my zoa glitch 2023 bat broke, but NOT (definitely) because I didn’t hit it on the barrel, which I hit it on the sweet spot, but because there was like a screw loose or something which right now I think I have a screw loose and my arms are tired from typing this 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I wonder what these boys could do with something that we did in Cuba when the government would not allow us to get baseball gear. We changed our STICKBALL gear for a "PINGPONG" ball and we called the game KiFiTi (pronounced Kee Fee Tee ) at some point we could bat a ping pong ball a half a block away and catching a free-falling ping pong ball even with the slighest wind was was a matter of utter genious. A lot of us improved our batting by a lot AND the catching was spectacular. We did run bases or not depending the "mode". I brought the game to Long Island City HS in Queens NYC and it was played there for a few years. Give it a try. AND once the ball gets the slightest crease .. NO ONE will hit it. AND that young pitcher..... He'd make a KILLER KiFiTi pitcher.

I was an everyday wiffle ball player as a kid. This is amazing stuff...both from an amazing pitcher, and hitters with terrific reflexes. What fun! My arm would be a limp biscuit after all those pitches. That's some significant velocity coming at ya.

to my understanding (correct me if i’m wrong yall) but it was first introduced as like a toy? like a Wiffleball! i think the concept of this new toy was to show/train pitchers how to throw different types of pitches, like sliders and curveballs! kinda like kickball it grew and grew, and people were having more fun trying to hit the ball, and improve their pitches. here in Arizona it’s not a sport, not on tv, or even high schools. people just play with them how they want out here lolol like showing up to batting practice with it. correct me if i’m wronggggg pls
Most likely will have elbow problems by 17, I pray he doesn't, but the way he torques on his elbow at such a young age is so bad, but the kid actually has nice mechanics and you cant teach confidence like that. I just hope he takes good care of that arm.
Throwing a blitz ball is way harder than an actual baseball, just cause he can make a wiffle ball curve doesn’t automatically mean he can curve a baseball.

I worked with a dude named Mark "homer" Edwards- Rockies minor leaguer. I pitched a big tape ball to him that had outrageous curvability. I got 2 past him, and he totally locked and connected the 3rd.
the dude who won thought he needed to elevate. but there was obviously too much friction with the air for that to work and indeed he won on a line drive (shortest distance between two points).
Crazy… when we played little league back in the early 1980’s, like 1981, there was a rule on our team that if any of us were caught playing whiffle ball, or any game with a tennis ball or similar we would be suspended for 3 games, because whiffle ball, allegedly in that day and time, destroyed your swing and timing. No kidding… Every last player on that team loved whiffle ball and I can’t tell you how many backyard tournaments we had In secrecy. Different day and time.m
It was the same when I was playing in little league 15 years ago. Its mainly because it creates bad habits and with said bad habits, it can hurt your arm when you go back to throwing a normal baseball. At least this was the reasoning I was given.

You have to remember blitz balls are meant to curve naturally even with just a 2-seam or 4-seam fast ball.
