Hanging Rock State Park

In 1935 the Stokes County Committee for Hanging Rock and the Winston-Salem Foundation donated 3096 acres of the Sauratown Mountains to the state of North Carolina and Hanging Rock became its 4th state park. Please visit the park's website : ncparks.gov/hanging-rock-state-park

Not just my favorite state park, I believe my favorite place in the world. What we have here is nothing other than perfect. Its hours also make sense, unlike so many parks, and let you get the most in year-round, wish more would be like it! But nothing adds up to this haven we have so close to the cities.
