Here's the deal. The status of something is the importance that people give it. Why anyone would spend an outrageous amount of money on a handbag just because it is considered a rare item of luxury (but is only worth 130 percent of it's value and depreciates with wear and tear) is beyond reason.

There is also no alternative to can't afford a 10.000 dollar handbag or being not brand crazy enough to accept being disrespected by Hermes for a handbag.
