    I would also use a 'tack' cloth after sanding (on any paint), to remove dust and bits etc. Little used these days, but oh what a difference they make.

    so helpful. I want to do a marble effect on a countertop and I realized the texture of my paint was too "rustic" to look like marble

      I'm so glad it helped. Yes, for a marble look you definitely want something super smooth and even a bit of a shine looks good too. have fun!

    Hi Lisa, I bought a custom piece but really want to make it shinier. Would commercial polish help?

    • @Recreateddesigns
      @Recreateddesigns  2 роки тому

      Hi Tanya, it will really depend on what kind of finish is on the piece currently. Do you have any idea what it is finished with or can you attach a couple of pictures? I'm happy to help.

    how to prepare a leather rocker for chalk paint??? thank you

    • @Recreateddesigns
      @Recreateddesigns  Рік тому

      Hi Kathleen, typically you would want to give the leather a good cleaning and a sanding with some gritty sand paper. After that the Annie Sloan should stick to the leather.

      @@Recreateddesigns Ok tx. Will it stay soft though?? Thank you.

      @Recreateddesigns  Рік тому

      @@kathleenbrown6734 Hi Kathleen, any painted leather will have a texture to it and may crack over time. The wax will help it stay soft but just the nature of paint will make it crunchier sadly.

    or.... just use a roller no brush at all.

    • @Recreateddesigns
      @Recreateddesigns  Рік тому +3

      I haven't found a roller yet that didn't leave stipple marks which can be just as annoying to some people as brush marks. If there is one out there, hopefully I'll come across it.
