If anyone has any doubt about Shostakovitch, here is your proof. I remember getting the score as soon as I heard this and trying to play it. I wanted to feel it under my fingers, I paid a lot years ago for the Preludes and Fugues, so glad to have them. Shostakovitch has great slow movements, 5th sym. is dreamy like this.
Simply beautiful and always with her usual good taste! Romantic without mannerisms or romanticisms! No silly grimaces or strange jumping up and down on the piano bench like so many other pianists do! It's all about the music!
I understand when you say mannerisms, but also romanticisms? So... what kind of expressiveness do you prefer? Forgetting what musicologists and historians say, doesn't this music sound romantic? It's very emotional and tender, full of sentiment and heartfelt feelings.
So, so, - a half-naked Chinese woman exposes her thighs from ankle to hip, and you say: It's all about the music for her. You don't want to be taken seriously with that, do you?
The overwhelming wonderful powerful playing is off the charts, and unrivaled And the beauty and comfort of her performance is immeasurable, and outclassing
By no means not an easy piece , but not the most complex pieces Yuja plays, nonetheless, very complex piece to play with expression and she pours her innermost feelings, i just love to listen with a glass of red wine.
'Millions of people go out every day to 'navigate' around the world, but they always stop here with a few glasses of white - or red - wine to see and hear Yuja playing… which is great! '
I've listened to a number of versions. Now I know: it's not just her body... However, is it not a bit metronomical? Or flowing like a river? Skipping along? Shostokovich's son, Maxim, had a different idea of the magnificent piece.
The composition, performance and conducting--all near perfect. Really. But the acoustics--or perhaps recording technology?--are mediocre, unfortunately.

The first time I heard Yuja playing this Andante I was in tears: it's so beautiful! Thank you Yuja for this marvelous present!

Bellissimo pensiero
One beautiful piece from Shostakovich and Yuja
Simply beautiful and always with her usual good taste! Romantic without mannerisms or romanticisms! No silly grimaces or strange jumping up and down on the piano bench like so many other pianists do! It's all about the music!

I agree "It's all about the music". Anything that diminish this goal is a distraction. This is where Yujia does the best.
Lol
I agree so much! I really don't appreciate soloists who look like they're getting off to their own playing....
So, so, - a half-naked Chinese woman exposes her thighs from ankle to hip, and you say: It's all about the music for her. You don't want to be taken seriously with that, do you?
❤️ Thank you Mr. Shostakovich
To me this must be one of the most touching pieces that Miss Wang Plays.
What a wonderful piece of music - played amazingly to Yuja Wang
Penetrating your soul ❤ beautiful and talented Yuja. Shostakovich a genius.
Her posture is amazing! I slouch like crazy when I play piano.
Light as air. Gorgeous. 💔
The overwhelming wonderful powerful playing is off the charts, and unrivaled
And
the beauty and comfort of her performance is immeasurable, and outclassing
music for the soul on a winter morning
Me has hecho llorar, desde tu primer fraseo, gracias. Sin duda mi intérprete preferida.
Yuja oh my! The gentle touch here ; beautiful, perfect. You show how gorgeous this second movement can be. Thank You
Dancer and choreographer, Arthur Mitchell, choreographed this entire concerto for his dance troupe, and I was privileged to see a performance.
Bellissimo. Fantastique. Incroyable.
Oh Yuja, the way you are barely touching the keyboard, your fingers floating above it...beautiful Andante rendition!
so beautiful✨💓
Bellissimo questo piano concerto di YUJA WANG 👏👏
It just get any better than this she looks good & sounds even better
Thank You Lady Yuja, you are a very beautiful Lady for Sharing your Music Art and Beauty to the World.
Talent?
Beauty?
The above are in the eye of the beholder…
Truly a beautiful piece
👏👏👏 YUJA WANG
She plays the piano with great taste when it comes to expression. Delicate but not over romantic or sentimental and lets the music speak for itself.
Is álainn go deó an píosa cheól seo, agus teangabháil milis ar na h-eochracha aicí. ❤
Magnifique!
To begin with I have insomnia, nowww ,tears filling my eyes》 it gets more complicated to fall asleep

Una maravella musical i quina interpretació mès sensible...cada nota al seu lloc i en el seu
moment.

'As the monk Mark Pentane IV would say: It's unbelievable!'
Not that I'm complaining, but you have got your liberal use of the word "not" all knotted up in a twist. Not that I am not caring, what?
I MUST OF LISTENED TO THIS MUSIC A DOZEN TIMES ITS CAPTIVATING…..
Wow, this is fast; I mean the upload. Thank you!!
simplemente maravilloso
Interpunctions ... Rests ... are perfect, less is more (I hate this phrase but it suits).
Exquisite.
This Andante was used to great effect in the German movie "Fox and His Friends".
👏❤️❤️
I've listened to a number of versions. Now I know: it's not just her body... However, is it not a bit metronomical? Or flowing like a river? Skipping along? Shostokovich's son, Maxim, had a different idea of the magnificent piece.
Knit picker! Go with the flow, Bub...
What are the particulars of this concert? Is it available?
AND AGAIN IM MESMORIZED
Who is the conductor ?
Michael Tilson Thomas
Is that MTT conducting?
Sadest song ever?
Je rafolle de cela
Soon as I saw the masks …….click
C'est idiot mais la tenue osée de la soliste m'a empêché de me concentrer entièrement sur la musique.
I couldn't agree with you more, monsieur. Quel fromage!
As soon as I saw the masks I turned off. Such a beautiful song does not deserve being muzzled by this nonsense.
The composition, performance and conducting--all near perfect. Really. But the acoustics--or perhaps recording technology?--are mediocre, unfortunately.
マスクは変でしょ。
