Great song, great performance, great vocal. Made my day. Thanks. :) Nitpicking here, but I would dial back the reverb just a little bit for an acoustic performance. Would be awesome with drums, bass, and electric guitars... :) Just saw the new movie about Dylan and was thinking about this song while watching the film. And then, holy smoke, it pops up in my YT suggestions... This AI thing is getting serious I guess...

Thank you! But don't get fooled, it's not a Dylan Song. Although it couldn't sound more like his early protest songs. It's from Barry McGuire. I can't wait to see the new Dylan movie.

@TheSoulSquires Oh, I know. P.F. Sloan wrote it. I'm old enough to remember when McGuire was near the top of the charts with it. I associate it with the folk revival movement of the early/mid 60s represented in the film, which I just saw a couple of days ago. :)
There is a version from Paul Revere & The Raiders, which they recorded around 1970/71 where they updated a verse or two. Have not heard that one in fifty years, although the original is best...I think it's on the album with the song, Indian Reservation, which was a hit song for The Raiders.
When you see the film, try and take note of all the other folkies represented in the film. They don't have speaking lines. They are always in the background. But included are Odetta, Phil Ochs, Mary Travers, Paul Stookey, Ramblin Jack Elliott, and John Sebastian. I probably missed a few more.
The film was extraordinary. Try and see it in a movie house with a great sound system. Where I saw it, they had it turned up loud. It was really good... :)
