Exactly! Plus they all work the exact same, nothing different, no confusion. Plus getting a combo pair is a big plus advantage, I'm collecting them all, just for kicks, but my fav is the 3895ts, it's the most underrated rifle, but it's the only 380acp rifle ever made which to me makes the most UNIQUE rifle out right now, just because of the caliber. Peace.
Now that all American that’s what I’m talking about I’ve got a 9 mm carbine never had a problem shoot it all the time might jam tomorrow but it’s been a good one so far Hi Point good gun in my book
The 995 was the first firearm I ever bought. It cost about $200 new. No threaded barrel. I looked at all the pros and cons and other than a shotgun could not think of a better home defense weapon in that price range.
There's no other gun with a better value. If there was, I'd buy that as well. I got the 995TS threaded... "Black Betty" . Got the cheek pad, hand grip, double mag holder with 2 mags, and shark muzzle break.
We recently acquired a 995, and we like it...only 150 rounds through it so far, and already I am fixing to buy a couple more magazines...also planning to test federal hst to see if the stuff feeds okay...
I got mine years ago way back when no one even knew they were a thing. I shoot it all the time. At least 5000 rounds. The only thing I’ve changed is the firing pin. And only cause I bent it when I was cleaning it. It’s a great gun.
Makes good sense, going to get wife & daughter to try, both new shooters, who struggle, granddaughter, is tack driver. 995 is so fun, easy , accurate. Own 995, 1095,& 4595, all great affordable, guns.
The HIPOINT 3895TS CARBINE is so underrated! Making a rifle made for 380 ACP, I say it's a game changer for the 380, the velocity coming from a 380 rifle will surprise you!
One of the best reviews I have ever seen on anything I have been struggling with my 9mm because I have arthritis in my hands Just ordered my Hi Point, I'm sure I won't want to put it down after firing just two clips At 71 years old this old boy is going to have some fun at the range. Thanks for this great review
I have the 40 S&W version and it has never failed me in any way. Puts great groups at 100 yards. These are highly under rated carbines. Only complaint is the lack of good mags that hold more then 10 rounds.
@ John Toothman, I have the 995, the 1095 in 45 acp, and the pistols that match them. I have taught both my boys to shoot them, all, and the all run great. They are a basic utility gun. Great to learn on and use. Love the Red Ball 20 rnd magazines, and keep the 2 original mags on a sheet metal clip I fabricated for mine. I love to see gun snobs turn their noses up, but what really is great is I have 4 decent weapons for price of 1 kimber 45. Love outshooting gun snobs with mine. 😁
@@johntoothman4888 I mean yes I have better firearms, and they also cost more, with the hi point 9mm C9, it is heavy but the recoil is more manageable for my 12 year old daughter. She loves shooting the 995. And it is manageable for her. Take care of them like any other firearm and they last.
Positives, Inexpensive, reliable, common ammo, light recoil, easy to use, increased power from the ammo, not the least bit finicky about ammo, the warranty. negatives, that plastic, magazine capacity, disassembly and cleaning. Do I sound like an owner with about 10k rounds through one? Yup. I've owned one for so long that the moving parts have just about quit wearing against each other.
I've had a HiPoint 9mm semi auto since around 2003. A lot of people bag on these because they're cheaper, but mine has never given me any problem. Now I want one of these.
I have two 4095's and I love them. I've only had issues with them when breaking in new mags, they typically jam a little until I cycle through them a few times. Other than that I have over 1k round through each of them and would love to have the 10mm in that stars and strips edition! Too bad I'm in CA and they can't be sold here.
Thanks for the information. I have a Hi-Point C9 that is more accurate than I am lol 😆. It has also been very reliable and eats everything I feed it. It is not my EDC but I have no problem using it as a backup truck gun. For my next gun purchase I will be looking heavily at the Hi-Point 995. Thanks again for a great video.
Finally someone that gives real world reviews. Im all for expensive guns but tacticool expense is ridiculous. Ill pay for quality all day. I do like these hi point platforms for us fun seekers
Got my first carbine not long ago and i love it! This little gun is accurate easy to use good as any high dollor gun ive seen, like it better then my ar
The Hi Point Carbine is the only gun that people love so much, they hate it. It's the only gun that actually has stalkers. The people that own them, like myself, love shooting them and watching videos about them. The people that hate them never had one, or share the same story about how they used to have one. Either way, they love watching all the videos about them. It's no surprise that it is one of the hottest selling guns on the market today (look up the stats). Other gun companies are losing business because of them. Hi Point got my money, not kel tec, not ruger. I could've purchased any of them, but I went for the Hi Point. With the money saved, was able to purchase a couple of other firearms to play with. The Ruger may be the nicest, but for the same amount of money, I guarantee anybody would have more fun with my hi point 9mm carbine, phoenix hp22a, and Panzer mfpa shotgun. 3 for the price of 1. All 3 work excellent.
We are budget buyers, also...recently acquired a 995, and it is already a favorite...only problem we've had is we had only a 100 rounds of 9mm on hand (had not owned any 9mm firearm for several years), and so have been on a 9mm ammo buying spree...gun shop has fmj 12.99 a box right now, and have spent a couple hundred bucks getting stocked up...look forward to letting the kids try this gun, I think they'll love it...
I like it when Real People make Real Videos, unlike some shooting/gun videos this man is living in the real world. Yes the Highpoint guns are cheap, but they work, I have heard of Lemons but for the most part they work really well.
Thanks for your very kind comment. I too get tired of the hyper, arm-waving and explosions and would much rather watch a calmer approach where good info is delivered… but you have a bit of fun too! Thanks again! Roy H.
PCC's are quite useful, esp for non-enthusiast shooters. The Beretta Storm looks like a good one also. I have Marlin Camp Carbines in 9mm and 45 ACP. Both are very accurate and easy to shoot, and FUN! I set up the 45 as a home defense gun with a red dot sight for my former wife, who was not fond of the shotgun. Worked great. Another good point to a carbine is the md report and reduced muzzle blast. Pkus of course, a modest gain in velocity and power, which will aid in bullet expansion. If i move to AK in a year or so, i may get the 10mm version as a handy bear defense gun. I saw them selling for $300 at SW last year.
Hi Points carbine and pistols are MINT ! Mine all run like sewing machines. And the most fun thing about them is, they drive the gun snobs at my club insane !
I agree, that’s almost the best part. Show up with one and everyone groans and makes fun. Then you outshoot them and it runs 100 percent and you just smile, put it away and leave. Ha! Roy H.
We get a kick out of shooting inexpensive firearms as fast as we can reload them, without failures, while the pricey guns on our left and right are being cursed and fiddled with...function over form, always...
I love these guns and own 4 of them. And I trust your honest, informed opinions on firearms, Roy. I wish you had mentioned the ONE serious defect of these firearms. No one has yet. I mentioned it to Hi-Point and there was a long pause at the other end of the phone. And that is that they use the firing pin as the ejector! They really need to incorporate a separate ejector in this platform. Hand cycling a live round from the chamber runs a serious risk of an out of battery discharge when the firing pin strikes the live primer at the end of bolt travel if cycled briskly, and the heavy recoil spring encourages exactly that! Hand cycle an empty gun and watch thru the ejection port as the bolt comes to the end of it's bolt travel as the firing pin is kicked forward to eject the fired round from under the extractors. This is why they caution against hand cycling live rounds thru the gun, but sometimes you just have to, and most owners aren't aware of what the danger is. People who own these guns need to be cautioned to GENTLY cycle the live round from the chamber...
@@fmgpubs I haven't pursued the cause of this, but I assume the bolt and firing pin with a live round under the extractors is striking the hammer face and slamming the firing pin forward to eject ( a fired casing) momentarily at the same time it is being recocked by the bolt for the next round. Recoil energy is doing that, of course, and is designed that way as the ejector. No problem. But when the same thing happens with a live round in the chamber by hand cycling the gun, there is the potential for you to provide sufficient inertial energy to force the firing pin into the captive live primer under the extractors and detonate it. The only redeeming tolerance is how tightly the extractors are holding the cartridge against the breach face. Now there is a chance for an out of battery detonation, depending on how much energy you impart against the stiff recoil spring. Hi Point recommends not hand cycling live rounds through the gun for this reason, but I told them it is still dangerous this way and encouraged them to design a separate ejector. Simply telling owners not to do it without explaining why is not enough to discourage this from occurring. They are trapped by their own design deficiency at this point, and I worry about end users not understanding what the danger is. If you use care in extracting live rounds and slowly open it, it really isn't a problem. That is what I do. These are great, inexpensive guns and I love them, but that needs to be changed. An out of battery detonation in a fully open breach will definitely ruin your day... My suspicion is this is also causing the accumulated firing pin damage being reported from peening and twisting caused by the casings as they are being ejected from the gun over hundreds of rounds. There are 2 firing pins strikes for each round fired.
@@krisswanson5410 Almost a bit like the AR platform and at least the used to often show a light firing pin indent on a chambered round. I always worried about that! Roy
Just ordered one. Can't wait to get it and take it to the range. I was looking for a carbine that shoots 9mm because that is the ammo that I have the most of. Keeping it simple in caliber and affordability works for me.
I purchased the 4595TS like 11 years ago, put it in my safe and has continually been pushed back further. I haven't shot it yet, still has the orange sticker on it, I call it my "Planet of the Apes" gun........actually I have many I have never shot......I'm a collector.....didn't mean to me, just ended that way.......anywho, nice short video.
Once you shoot the 4595 and break it in it will likely never be at the back of the safe again. Especially for new and recoil sensitive shooters. Practice Makes Proficient Cheers
New shooters approve of Hi-Point carbines, 10/22's and even my mini 14's with a pin on aftermarket muzzle brake compensator that effectively eliminates recoil {not that 223 has much recoil but you know it's working} and directs sound away from shooter.. Which can also be achieved with AR15's therefore = perfect for new shooters and non shooters. 410 bore to introduce people to shotguns, though it is a bit more expensive. I love the power of the 12 gauge but I don't like being punched in the torn shoulder or crushed nerves in my neck {thank you BPSST} every time I fire it. The maverick 88 12g actually feels like getting kicked sharply and repeatedly by a donkey or large goat. So I run 20 gauge as a balance or compromise between misery and effectiveness. But don't count out 410 bore, as I imagine the slugs are prolly 45/70 like in effectiveness just less accurate at distance. Some time soon I'll look up that comparison again. EDIT: I love my 4595ts and would never get rid of it for anything... and it is a first run, I waited on a list like 2+ yrs of forever for it to finally be released, never existed before, 4595ts model carbine. I had nearly forgotten about it when they called lol. Sorry bout the exposé and I enjoyed the video and the shooting was well done. Research MudFloods and awake from historical amnesia friends
GREAT... But for new owners 9mm is USUALLY more available and "less scary" sounding!!! He even mentions all the calibers and includes "10 mm... That's pretty cool!!!
Great video, your points really make a lot of sense to me as I am trying to master pistol shooting but when I go back to a carbine(mine are marlin 22lr with tech sites) I'm way more accurate with the carbines .thinking about a 9mm firearm and leaning to a carbine over a pistol....

I own 2 hi.points. 9mm and a .40. I just put a high tower bullpup conversions on my 9 mm. Cant wait to take it to the range and have other shooters ask about it.
@@flatplaneoregon4605 I tried the Promag 40 cal. 20 round. I pulled the plastic strip out I couldn't get it to work, I didn't take a lot of time on it may give it another try with the redball.
I have the 4595ts. It's like my ole lady. Heavy, not attractive but dependable and affordable. With the spring on the butt it has more cushion for the pushin
Mixup98 has a good video on using ProMag 14 round .45 magazines. They seemed to work just fine. Using this carbine in .45 acp FMJ's will be like using the venerated Tommy Gun in WWII. The .45 has been proven to be a man stopper. It is much better to use in a carbine than the wee 9mm.
Promags damage an internal and void the fantastic warranty. Redball makes a 20 rd boomerang mag that actually works really well. I like the 4595 with 20 rd Redball stick. The 45 mag may or may not work with the 10mm /40 so I imagine the 9mm boomerang may or may not work with the 380. Not Medical Advice lol
i mean its a gun that is backed by a full replace guarantee. :) i think its kinda cool. and something maybe a learner could use as a first gun. shows them the way to take care of malfunctions
The things I don't like about my 9mm High point carbine is the factory magazines have a lot of slop in the mag well of the handle and I don't care for the rear peep sight
That’s part of the challenge making a price-point gun, there are some compromises, but they don’t affect function. I’m thinking put your mind to work to sort out that rear sight into something you like? Roy
It's not going to compare real well, you can get 2 995's maybe 3 for 1 PC Carbine. There's not much in the way of a comparison with the 995, if Taurus made a Carbine maybe? Not knocking the 995 at all.
No disrespect....you're in the wrong State! This gun is no more dangerous because of those features! I don't like politicians very much...their ignorance gets in the way of good people!
Jerry, I didn’t do any benching at 100 but leaning on the rail I could hit my 6” round plate at 100 easily. I’m always amazed at the accuracy of Hi-Point products. Roy
I bought one for me, one for my girlfriend, mine is 99% reliable and hers 100%. I heard of lots of expensive carbines giving more problems. I spent 600 bucks for 2 guns and optics for both. You DON'T have to spend a lot to defend the home and person. Plus, trigger aside, the fun factor is 11 out of 10.
Agreed Frank. Make sure you drop some lube into the action parts. And don’t forget they have a lifetime guarantee. And running crappy ammo will definitely affect reliability. Roy
That’d certainly be at the top end I agree. But I’ve tested “base” rifles starting at $2800, then add a good scope and a few accessories and presto: $4,000. I’m not saying you “need” one but if it’s fun to build one, there’s nothing wrong with that. I’ve seen $2,500 10/22s and even a $1,500 custom Ruger Wrangler! Roy H.
@@fmgpubs wish we had that kinda money to spend...we are budget shoppers, recently acquired a 995 (and like it), and look for the occasional good deal...these days our ammo budget is much more than our gun buying budget, we figure trigger time more important than the next latest and greatest...
I own a hi point 45 acp it's a piece of shit and I just watched a video on field stripping this rifle if you're thinking about purchasing this firearm please watch a cleaning video while I can't say anything about it's performance having never fired one from my experience having owned a hi point hand gun I suspect that this rifle will repeatedly miss fire just like the handguns they make
I striped ours before firing it the first time, and it was a slight chore, but compared to a couple other guns I can think of it was relatively doable...yes, it does take a tool, and a light hammer helps...now having striped it a couple more times it isn't that big a deal to me, but for now all we do is clean the barrel and wipe a little bit...takes 5 minutes if i'm organized...
I’ve never thought poorly of them. They are what they are, affordable guns offering fine performance for the money. I think the elitists snobs let it go to their heads before! Roy

I've got one it's a great shooting gun and if you get it dirty it just keeps running
I have a 995FG and I love it
I am definitely going to get one of those I am a budget gun guy
Loved you review and love the looks of that gun. Iwas going to purchase a more expensive carbine but you won me over on this one.
I think you’ll like this. It’s simply a solid, basic tool, not something I’d have engraved, but certainly something I’d rely on. Roy
The Volkswagen of carbines.
Okay, that’s pretty funny. But mostly true! Roy
Thank you very much for your review, it was very helpful.
Very informative video, thank you!
How about 10mm hi-point??Thanks
GREAT... But for new owners 9mm is USUALLY more available and "less scary" sounding!!!
He even mentions all the calibers and includes "10 mm... That's pretty cool!!!
I love my 10M HiPoint, it's a perfect deer rifle for Arkansas, cuz sometimes there's a bear too!
Great video, your points really make a lot of sense to me as I am trying to master pistol shooting but when I go back to a carbine(mine are marlin 22lr with tech sites) I'm way more accurate with the carbines .thinking about a 9mm firearm and leaning to a carbine over a pistol....
Garry, work on your trigger control when shooting a handgun. That’s the big secret. You’ll find some videos on our channel where I cover some tips and tricks. Here’’s a link: ua-cam.com/users/fmgpubssearch?query=trigger%20press. Good luck! Roy H.
Got a 995ts My son love it
I own 2 hi.points. 9mm and a .40. I just put a high tower bullpup conversions on my 9 mm. Cant wait to take it to the range and have other shooters ask about it.
Excellent tools thanks for the vdeo and time 👍
Great video, New subscriber. Now I'll be looking for one of these in 9, 10 or .45.
Just bought this in a 45 ACP!!!!!!
Great review with tons of common sense.
Thanks Earl. Appreciate you posting! Roy
To hell with Tim's video on Mac!!!!!!
My is in the mail.Best choice to compliment your 9mm handguns.Popular ammo also. You only have to carry one kind.
Yep I have the 10mm. The only down side is there's only 10 round mags for them.
Try the 20 rd 45 redball mags.
Just need to pinch the feed lips a tiny bit
Even the factory 10s are the same mag for 40 45 and 10mm.
The 40 just has a thin gap fill
@@flatplaneoregon4605 I tried the Promag 40 cal. 20 round. I pulled the plastic strip out I couldn't get it to work, I didn't take a lot of time on it may give it another try with the redball.
That's double the capacity we are legally permitted here in Canada 😒
5 rounds...that's it for a any centre fire rifle.
I have the 4595ts. It's like my ole lady. Heavy, not attractive but dependable and affordable. With the spring on the butt it has more cushion for the pushin
love my 995,,, would love the american flag print
I have the 9 carbine
Mixup98 has a good video on using ProMag 14 round .45 magazines. They seemed to work just fine. Using this carbine in .45 acp FMJ's will be like using the venerated Tommy Gun in WWII. The .45 has been proven to be a man stopper. It is much better to use in a carbine than the wee 9mm.
Till 10mm says hold my beer 🍺 lol 😂😂😂😂
Only thing I don't like about it, is it requires a tool to take down. But, of course you seldom need to...
Great content. Thanks
Good video sir.
I just ordered a 995TS w/TB to go with my C-9 and JXP10 so now I can say I have an actual Hi-Point collection 😂.
There’s a 10mm version?
They do have one Hans. I’ve fired them and they are great fun and can easily handle the 10mm. Roy H.
I already have the regular 9mm carbine but might have to pick this up simply because of the flag
I blow out the center ring at50 yards. Pro Mag makes a 15 roung mag. that works well.
Seems to have a good Tru fire sight. At 40?
how much?
i mean its a gun that is backed by a full replace guarantee. :) i think its kinda cool. and something maybe a learner could use as a first gun. shows them the way to take care of malfunctions
I joked about that perfect tap rack trainer thing a long time ago in some Hi-Point forums.
Well spotted, but much less true today than it was in 2005
The things I don't like about my 9mm High point carbine is the factory magazines have a lot of slop in the mag well of the handle and I don't care for the rear peep sight
That’s part of the challenge making a price-point gun, there are some compromises, but they don’t affect function. I’m thinking put your mind to work to sort out that rear sight into something you like? Roy
I think this gun is fugly but honestly if it works and its reliable, that's all that matters.
NEVER BE ALLOWED in the uk==but looks a great bit of kit
The 995ts has weaver style rails.
I would like to ask for a comparison to Ruger PC Carbine.
It's not going to compare real well, you can get 2 995's maybe 3 for 1 PC Carbine. There's not much in the way of a comparison with the 995, if Taurus made a Carbine maybe? Not knocking the 995 at all.
Whirled Peaz Here you go. Link below.

Ruger pc carbine by far... 😉
BTB... these will also shoot .380 ammo in a pinch.
What is a "can"??
A suppressor. Roy H.
@@fmgpubs Thank you
I live in New York can't have one no threaded barrels or pistol grips allowed.
No disrespect....you're in the wrong State! This gun is no more dangerous because of those features! I don't like politicians very much...their ignorance gets in the way of good people!
Actually these are a lot less ugly than their pistols.
Holy flies bro you must have some stagnant water around
Nah, I live in S/W Missouri in the country and my house is surrounded by woods. Those pesky gnats are always out when it’s warm and humid! Roy H.
+WHAT, is the accuracy at 100 yards ???????
Roy
I've never seen an AR 15 for $4,000!
Good for house or car . Can't carry this in public.
Hi-Point just botched this not going with glock magazines.
It's not a perfect world...if that is the biggest complaint hi point is doing just fine...
👌 👍👍 🇺🇲
Yuk
No more Russian ammo.
Boy, that’s an understatement these days! Roy H.
I own a hi point 45 acp it's a piece of shit and I just watched a video on field stripping this rifle if you're thinking about purchasing this firearm please watch a cleaning video while I can't say anything about it's performance having never fired one from my experience having owned a hi point hand gun I suspect that this rifle will repeatedly miss fire just like the handguns they make
It's okay to be wrong
Watch a guy say he disassembed the gun to clean it and then said he would never clean this again. 😆
A few years back all u gun guru's poo pood high points, what has changed?!
I’ve never thought poorly of them. They are what they are, affordable guns offering fine performance for the money. I think the elitists snobs let it go to their heads before! Roy
Did you not see “garland thumbs “
Video. Terrible quality,shame!!
pigpaul Did you see all the other gun channel videos of it over the years running reliably and accurately even through torture tests? I didn't think so.
@@rbm6184 ITS CACA!!! Admit it kind sir!
@@pigpaul Mine runs and its accurate so I am not going to lie about it and say it doesn't.
It is a piece of junk. Had 2 and both went click 4 of 10 rds a mag…
If in fact this is true, they have lifetime warranties. Hi point would have sent you new guns and or anything you need. Never had any of my 6 fail. Not once.
