you put this together about 6-7 months ago. I distinctly remember it for a number of reasons, still I enjoyed it again, especially the warm weather, mowed lawn and complete build
Great video to see, my favorite part was watching you get to work with your Dad. Make sure to not take anything for granted, always enjoy having him with you and helping to continue to be there with you as long as you can. Once our Dads are gone all we have are memories of our time with them and the time since mine has past always makes me wish I had more time to pick up on things from him, no matter how small. Liked the teamwork and such.
Great video Nathan! I especially like that intro lol! It was an absolute pleasure hanging with you for the week and I’m glad that Kiln is earning it’s keep!
I love Archer and the banjo! I am from Southern Indiana originally and have been around the world for 23 years in the military and something about a banjo just brings me home every time. Archer is destined to be known for his music I feel it.
I watched this video 2 or 3 months ago! Why does it still say 2 days ago?? It’s good just wanted to see something new. I hope you and your family are safe. I just heard about the tornado’s in your state, hope you are all safe and unharmed.
Awsome video Nathan. Thank you. I've been a subscriber for about a year. I come home frome work and check for more of your content before I do anything else. 🙏🏻
Great Video! I always enjoys your content. I just have two questions. 1. What is the purpose of painting the floor with aluminum paint? 2. Will you do a review video of the kiln after you have used it for awhile? Thanks, keep up the great work.
Neat. I saw someone in the video wearing Saucony 6000 running shoes that are just as worn and dirty as the ones on my feet right now. There is no better shoe for general purpose wearing. After viewing further I see that it is your father wearing those classics.
Just built a roof for my mud room. About as tall as your drying shed. I hate heights with a purple passion. It had to be done though. No OSHA here either!
Morning Nathan, a few questions on the kiln? How many board ft are you putting in the kiln. What was the purpose of the aluminum roofing paint on the floor¿ Name of the company the produced the kiln? Thank you enjoy your videos...
I found this video very interesting. I have never seen a kiln before. I'd like to know how long the expected drying time is based on the type of wood loaded. Is it soft or hardwood?
At first I thought you had gotten another kiln, then realized this is a replay from months ago when you had the kiln components delivered and installed. Still worth another viewing. How is the kiln working for you since you've had it installed and running? How long is it taking to get a full load of hardwood dried to your desired moisture level with the new kiln?
Wondering why moisture won't migrate under the floor since the slab is over sized from the unit. Yes the track is set in sealant, but over time, water never ignores an opportunity to infiltrate.
19:12 got me some deja vu all over again. Haven't I seen this with another kiln you built? The wind came along & you ended up installing spikes on the doors to hold them from swinging?
Pretty sure this is the video he promised of the complete process from start to finish. Was put up in the summer. (Probably should have pointed this out in the description.)
Are you able to tell if the kiln operating costs scales proportionately to the size? So if you double a kiln size does the cost double? i know that may not be a possible comparison given a lot of other variables, but if you have a rough estimate, that would also be appreciated.
The wall panels are very nice, 3-4 inches of rigid foam, with aluminum skin on the exterior, and white marlite sanitary panels on the interior. very nice
Nathan, what was the deciding factor in choosing the location for the new kiln? I noticed that it is located fairly far away from your shop. Belated happy birthday buddy.
@@OutoftheWoods0623 may I ask why? Long time subscriber always wondered why everything was so spread out, and why each log had to move so far between processes. Thanks.
Hello Nathan, been watching for a while . After watching the video of the kiln installation I’m curious how much is it rated for wind speed ? Thanks in advance . Bill Conway
Is this a re-run the build looks familiar. Is this the one you premiered months or more ago !? Or are you... Movin' on up !! :D And is that your 2nd or 3rd one now ? :P
Good video but too many commercials I understand monetizing your videos but I think you had more commercials than the Inspiration channel for old folks..lol

Sitting in my office, reading a trial protocol, it is just so great to watch a completely different way of life. Thanks for sharing, Nathan!
I want a kiln like this shortly.
great to see a south african living the american dream
The drone footage makes me homesick. Still glad I got off the farm.
Nice video. I enjoyed seeing the whole process start to finish. Reminds me of an old fashioned barn raising - definitely not a one man job!
Thanks 👍👍
for future reference. you need 12 -14 FOOT 2X4 TO BRACE THE WALL AS YOU STAND THE WALLS UP
Nice to hear a South African accent .. howzit Henco Viljoen!
nothing better than closing a properly balanced door. Job well done
I'm praying that you all are OK down there after the devastating tornadoes struck ! God help everyone affected !
Good shape 👍👍
not sure why I missed this one, but awesome video Nathan!

Glad to see you can dry your own lumber. Great job.

Excellent! I really enjoy your videos!

Well done. Get some kind of spring or door stop on those big doors so they are not torn off by the wind.
Nathan, hope you and your family were OK through the storms. Praying for the folks in western Kentucky.
very good thank you,
Nathan, That section of TN is so beautiful sorta wish I lived down there.
Love your Drone footage of the area.

Nice that your father can still help you. My father lost his mind to stroke when I was just out of College.

Learned a lot from watching you and your people put that kiln together.

Great intro! Better than a lot of Hollywood movies these days…
Glad you liked it!
From start to finish. Very cool!

Hammer drill works much faster with masonry bits. Saved me a lot of time when I couldn't shoot down the track.
Glad you got the kiln put together and working also a load of wood in it drying out

Nice job, Nathan, and your crew…looks good…
Just wondering if high winds may be a problem. didn’t see how he foundation’s is held down.
Probably a good idea to keep it loaded with wood. it nice.
its anchored to the concrete
That's half the size I expected given you're running a sawmill on site, have an older kiln also in operation?
Cool build.
Thanks!
That was a great upload. Interesting to see all of the components being placed. 👍🏻
Thanks 👍
I feel sure I’ve seen this kiln on previous videos?

Amazing that styrofoam sandwiched between two sheets of what looked like aluminum and vinal has that much structure support.
Indeed. Thought so 2

Roughly 4-5 weeks for hardwood
I was thinking the same thing
I would call those tracks, the extruded white thinga-majiggy you put down on the slab to hold the pre-fab insulated walls.
Flat roof ? Not much snow in your neck of the woods ?
hi there looks real nice nice addition to your place . just cooking wood john
Thanks buddy
That's a nice drying building but can you fit more wood in it? Or is it only for Big Slabs ???
How long does this kiln take to dry lumber? Have you ever thought about a vacuum kiln?
Is this a second Kiln??
with all the box units in the kiln, is there any room for the wood?
About 4K feet worth of room
Wondering why moisture won't migrate under the floor since the slab is over sized from the unit. Yes the track is set in sealant, but over time, water never ignores an opportunity to infiltrate.
Shout out to the video editors, whoever they are! :)
I’ll let him know 👍👍👍👍😎

Pretty sure this is the video he promised of the complete process from start to finish. Was put up in the summer. (Probably should have pointed this out in the description.)
Will you be exclusively using the kiln, or is air drying better for some types of wood? Or is it a combination?
Are you able to tell if the kiln operating costs scales proportionately to the size? So if you double a kiln size does the cost double? i know that may not be a possible comparison given a lot of other variables, but if you have a rough estimate, that would also be appreciated.

I'm curious about why you packed a lot of foam sheets around the lumber. ??
Baffle. Forces the air through the lumber. Helps dry it properly
Enjoyed seeing the whole process in one video. How is the kiln working out for you?
Very well
Thanks for watching
@@OutoftheWoods0623 You are welcome.
Fascinating to watch as always. Will this kiln allow you to process (finish?) more lumber by working faster or just allowing more in the kiln?
faster and yes more space
how long that last lol
Nathan, what was the deciding factor in choosing the location for the new kiln? I noticed that it is located fairly far away from your shop. Belated happy birthday buddy.
trying to spread things out so everything isn't bunched up together
@@OutoftheWoods0623 may I ask why? Long time subscriber always wondered why everything was so spread out, and why each log had to move so far between processes. Thanks.
Hello Nathan, been watching for a while . After watching the video of the kiln installation I’m curious how much is it rated for wind speed ? Thanks in advance .
Bill Conway
How long does it take too dry the stake of lumber you put in the kiln?
Two weeks of already air dried
I see the warranty of that Dewalt drill was just voided. Don’t you have a bigger drill? Maybe a hammer drill?
They was a dewalt hammer drill
@@OutoftheWoods0623 I stand corrected.
Interesting, but is this not a consolidation of the build from 5 months ago.
Isn't this a repeat, haven't we already watched this several months ago?
Is this a re-run the build looks familiar. Is this the one you premiered months or more ago !?

Yes.
