everyone saying “they are siblings.” yes it is true. and at the end of the day, we dk how Evelyn actually feels but generally, even though people play fight with their sibling all the time, it can get annoying or hurtful if it is done too many times or if someone steps over the line. And although most siblings may not think hard about the insults, some may...we just never know. So saying “they’re just siblings” doesn’t mean that she’d be joking and happy but it also doesn’t mean that she’d be sad.

100% agree. My sister and I have completely different personalities, I’m quiet and introverted and my sister has always been extroverted and lacks a filter. I’m younger by 5 years and by the time I was 8 she would joke about my weight (I’m very skinny -has to do with my health) and was constantly called anorexic by her before I could even understand what it meant. We’re in our 20s now and the ragging on my body type still continues. I’m “anorexic” and can’t understand her problems of having larger breasts because I “have none.” Others would probably brush it off as normal sibling banter, but I’ve never once commented on her body type of her weight. Sometimes these comments really have a lasting effect on how you view yourself or struggle with your self esteem/self image. Ultimately, if it’s not something you’d say to a friend, why is it okay saying it to a family member? 🤷🏻♀️ I think the occasional joke is fine, but when the same things are said so often it can be harmful.
