One theory I read a lot is that Nolan was sad when Marc got his power, because that would mean he can no longer wait until both Debie and Marc dies to conquer the planet. This mean he cared about them and only wanted to keep this family life for as long as it could and explain why he didn't start conquering before.
Yes. If Mark never developed powers, Nolan would have assumed that Viltrumites and Humans we're incompatible. He would have still conquered the Earth, but only after Mark and Debbie died of old age.
Yep. Nolan is an evil Viltrim, no question. But basically he went native. He did love Debbie and Mark as much as he put off being a Viltrim for their life time. A lot of all the cruel crap he did in this ep. in a way is as much as trying to convince himself he is viltrim as Mark.
@@marcc1830 Again with this good and evil thing. Good and evil are human concepts. Nolan is a Viltrumite, if you ask him what is good and evil then from his understanding, Viltrumites are probably the greatest good to exist. They conquer weak and insignificant civilizations to advance their society by centuries ahead of what they currently are. In the grand scale of THEIR universe, Nolan is a good guy.
I think it was then that Nolan realized that Mark was truly Invincible in a way he never perceived before - that despite everything he had done, Mark's love for him was still just as strong as ever, not even a crack was showing. His spirit could never be broken
Have you ever met someone who probably knew their choice was wrong, but either felt cornered into it or didn't want to face their wrongness? So instead they double-down, lash out, and say things they don't mean trying to convince themselves it's true or force others to reject them to "justify" their path. This episode was brilliant because Nolan, deep down, is shocked that what amounts to a weekend fling in the span of his long life changed the millennia of fascist programming his people instilled. He's ultimately afraid to attach to anyone outside his culture because to do so would invite the pain of their loss. That Mark's love and willpower are invincible is what breaks Nolan and saves humanity.
@@bonzoluv Well fascism at its essence is a authoritarian political ideology. And a lot of its tenets involves strict subjugation of any opposition to the will of the central governance, enforcement of a defined social class structure, militarism, and nationalism. Militaristic empirical expansion, doctrine expressing their superiority over others, loyalty to the empire and its goals over everything else, literally stated in this episode that they are there specifically to stop "them" from rising up against occupation and incorporation into the empire...Viltrum is a pretty fascist regime, at a base level.
@@Mrryn you could have just admitted you don't know what Fascism is outside of some Hollywood movies. A lot of different types of government can be considered Authoritarian. The only thing you could call Viltrum is imperial. Nothing is known about Viltrums social class besides vague stuff about strength. Empirical expansion isn't an inherent part of Fascism. "Superiority" isn't technically a fascist doctrine, their beliefs on race is being a tight knit group that tries to maintain themselves as pure and separated from other races, what the others do is of no concern if they don't bother them. Viltrum clearly shows racial demographics similar to Earth so they're more species based than race based. And another couple of things, we know nothing about Viltrums economy, Fascism has tenets on economy that are neither capitalistic or communistic. And when it comes to gender roles, Viltrum doesn't match up because there are tons of female warriors treated the same as men. Fascism/National Socialism have a bunch of pretty specific and certain broad tenets. Just having basic Authoritarian mixed in with imperialism isn't what makes you a Fascist
@@bonzoluv Not sure why you felt like trying to attack my intelligence as if that somehow makes your point come off as valid, but pop off, king. So Viltrumite doctrine is not fascism because we don't know about their economics and are judging them specifically on their personal population's racial makeup...in a literal universe of numerous alien *races* and civilizations Viltriumites "dehumanize" (for lack of a better term, since we aren't dealing with humans on the vast scale of the empire) as lesser and forcefully conquer and incorporate them under their rule, suppressing any attempts at uprising to the point of near racial extinction if necessary as seen with Allen the Alien? I wasn't even trying to say with any certainty that this fictional alien empire was an example of fascism. I was just making a point that Viltrum's policies (considering for all we know, from both the show and the comics) that socioeconomic policy aren't much of a concern for them considering they live for millennia, are virtually invincible, and they literally culled at least half of their own population on "survival of the fittest" death matches, which were more than likely tens if not hundreds of thousands of years ago considering there is an actual intergalactic coalition of planets that has formed with the intention of combating the spread of and taking down the empire. But clearly you have a personal stake to the point where you were offended by the original commenter and myself by even implying that Viltrum ticks some boxes, so for that I apologize and *hope you have a good night/day.
Nolan really was enjoying his life on Earth, he was actually hoping Mark wouldn't become a Viltrumite, so he could continue living that life for a awhile longer, but mark having powers meant he had to move to the next stage in his mission. The fact Mark and Debbie managed to even break his indoctrination of thousands of years of Viltrumite loyalty as much as they did, concidering it was only 20 years, a blink of the eye to Nolan, says everything.
You guys have to remember, Nolan is easily over a thousand years old. So the time he’s spent on earth has gone by in the blink of an eye for him. That’s why he considers Debbie a pet and why he’s so loyal to the Viltrum Empire. And the “wait dude!” During the train scene had my dying lol 😂
You are right. Omni-Man didn’t mean to be rude by saying he saw Debbie as a pet, because everyone who has a pet really loves it, but that love goes only to a certain level because we know they are going to die way before us. And since as a Viltrumite, he basically counts time by centuries instead of years, his wife’s life is less than a kitten lifespan to him. That is also why he doesn’t see killing humans as such a big deal, just like a lot of people don’t see killing an ant, a chicken or a mouse as such a horrible thing. That is basically what we do to almost all other species that we consider as irrelevant.
What makes this even more heartbreaking in a twisted way is Nolan was severely holding back on Mark he could have punched through him in an instant but because deep down he cared he didn’t but because of this that made it even more painful since he was killing him slowly
Yep. It looks like a physical fight, but really it was an emotional one. Nolan wasn't trying to _kill_ mark, he was trying to _break_ him. Which why Mark won this fight. It was a battle of wills, and Mark's was...
19:00 Honestly it was this moment Amber 100% died as a love interest for me. I was willing to forgive her if she was honestly feeling like she was wrong, and sorry, but that last shot at Mark, "I guess we were both being lied too." was when I could clearly tell she didn't give a actual crap about him over herself, and how much of a horrible person she truly was to say that to him when he's so vulnerable even if the writer, and characters around them in the show try to make her seem good, and Mark the bad guy. Mark may have not have been honest, but it was still coming from a good place while she just comes off as petty to me.
Imagine a planet full of people with the mindset and superiority complex of Nolan. Now imagine if Nolan didn't conquer or said he failed. Remember back to Episode 2 when Nolan went through the portal, now imagine that's Earth with 5-10 angry Viltrumites on it. Then try to imagine whats goin on inside Nolans head
i mean he's literally not human, we are to him what are animals/plants are to us, lower on the food chain so we benefit from them without really thinking of what they feel want or anything like that.. So no, Nolan does not have a superiority complex, he is simply superior.
Imagine a planet full of people with the mindset and superiority complex of Nolan ? umm it already exist it's called earth and this is how humans treat every other creature
@@pushqrdx but tbf we base that on intelligence, if there was another fully sentient intelligent species like us on the planet we’d be forced to recognise it because it isn’t stupid, similar with viltrimites and humans - they’re more advanced but seemingly in a way we could be in the future they just got there first, they don’t seem to be specifically more intelligent then us in anyway
The comics have been finished for a while, and with a very satisfactory ending. There's material for about five to eight seasons, depending on the pacing, and you have _no idea_ where this story is going to go. This was just the beginning the best is yet to come, and there's _a lot_ of it.
@@urielgonzalez995 The first page, I'd say (regardless of whether you go by issues, volumes, or compendiums). Otherwise you might get a bit lost, since the adaptation changed some characters (mainly Amber, though Rex also looked quite different, Shrinking Rae was Shrinking Ray, William was in the closet for a long time, while he's already out at the start of the adaptation, and Seance Dog is Science Dog, for instance), changed the order and pacing of some plots, and simplified the background _a lot_ (in the books Image - mainly Top Cow - characters pop up for cameos quite often, which would seriously mess up the licensing for the adaptation, given how Image works). Granted, _most_ of the changes have been for the better (Kirkman has learned quite a bit since back when he started the series, by his own admission, though some - mostly the simplifications - only work because of the medium, and would probably be for the worse if they were in printed form)... but the original is still as good as it ever was, and differs enough from the adaptation that it can still surprise you even if you've watched it (though both follow and will hit the same main plot points, so they _will_ spoil each other).
@Lokabrenna lmao they’re the same damn thing. Only difference is in comic amber you’re putting your own inner tones over her shitty words and actions so you’ve obviously molded her into something else in your head. But both comic and show amber are absolute trash.
This episode is just Nolan trying to convince himself that his plan to conquer Earth is justifiable. I think he tried to tell HIMSELF that humanity isn't worth it by killing them. And I love that Mark saved everyone by holding on to his love for his father and that Nolan's love for his son made him leave. Also...yeah Amber's the worst. That shit gotta end hella quick
The flashback scene because of the gap in his teeth reminds me of the scene where Ekko is beating on Jinx and the blood is covering her teeth and her hair is strewn across her forehead and she looks like Powder. Wouldn't be surprised if either scene influenced the other.
Well invincible came before arcane but the flashback during a fight trope is a classic way to show a character's arc seeing where they cane from to where they are now
I really like Onmi-Man. I know he is the villain, but he has so many layers and he has so much charisma that even knowing he is evil, I still like him. This is kinda I feel towards the Joker from The Dark Knight, played by Heath Ledger. I really like charismatic and complex villains better than the ones you simply hate because they are the villains.
Calling Debbie a pet may seem an insult to you, but I think to Nolan, it might mean something else. Think about it; do you love your pet any less than a family member? Some say their pet is family. But most of us outlive our pet, especially Nolan in this case. Hence I think his statement is justifiable, even if it sounds horrible to us.
Nah, he doesn't really feel that way. Thing is, if she's _not_ a pet, then she matters like a person. And if she matters, humans matter. And if humans matter, he can't do what he was sent to earth to do. He's _supposed_ to see her as a pet, or otherwise beneath him. And he's trying to convince himself that he does. But he doesn't.
Bro no matter what people say, family members/humans come above pets 💀 pets are simply different from humans when it comes down to it, you'd always chose your loved ones above a dog. Calling her a pet is the most messed up shit ever, because he is indeed.. messed up.
So glad you elaborated on the fact you were speculating on season three. For some reason I thought that you had gotten to see it. Thanks for that clarity.
I love how great a job they do at showing you, just how hopeless the idea of Mark standing against his dad effectively is. Viltrumites gain power as they age, so with Nolan being as old as he is, Mark literally had zero chances here. Add to that, Nolan is by far NOT the strongest among the Viltrumites, should throw into perspective what kind of threat Mark will eventually stand against.
Nolan isn’t the strongest but he is in the top 5. Just remember he was holding back here, same w his fight w the guardians. That is what is scary in regards to him but it also shows Mark’s potential.
The thing I always think people get so caught up in is the idea that Nolan is to be held to the same expectations as a human. Think about how long he has lived as a member of the empire he serves. Why would he not think it's the right thing to do. He was raised and taught to believe he is helping people for who knows how many years. We as people are ourselves products of our societies and environments
the problem with amber writing, is the source material amber had no personality. she was "the girlfriend" and nothing else. the show tried to fix it, but the moment she said she knew he was a superhero, was the moment she became a hated character in the community.
I think its cool when i rewatch the show that you can see the struggle omniman is going through mentally, not alot until the last 2 episodes especially ep 8, but everytime it shows a close up of his face you can see it slacken with worry and regret for what hes doing but he's been raised by a warmongering conquer everything civilization/society and he's struggling against his upbringing and what he experienced on earth, for a mere 20 years of his THOUSANDS of years of life. I love this show the writing is so unbelievable
I hope you two are going to watch season 2. Last episode of season 2 is next week. It’s been an amazing season and you’ll love it. Season 3 I hope comes quicker. I love your reaction to season 1 and 2 would be as great.
Something interesting about the Omni-Man that few people notice, when he tells Mark that everything he loves will have died long before him, am I the only one who realizes he talks like he's already been through this? like if in 500 years Mark still wouldn't look 30, how old do you think Nolan is? how many lives has he lived? maybe he's been through this more than once, maybe countless times. so he tells Mark it's not something he wanted for him
“The water people drink from their taps is laced with a chemical which prevents you from seeing certain wavelengths of light.” AND ITS TURNING THE FROGS GAYYYY
6:01 Love how when Mark begins to say he wont help his dad you want him to beat his Dad but when Nolan says he’s willing to beat up his kid to get his point across, you realise mark is a little fish compared to his dad 😂😂 the emotional transition is on point
After watching season 2.. it makes me realize just how much Omni man was holding back. Almost like he was just trying to get marked prepared.. give him a taste of what the viltrumites are capable of.
Some clearing ups. Seeing the lifespan, he would not conquer mark if he was just human, he would just wait it out (he have like 300 year to finish mission) The impact of him leaving: he betray viltrum and now he is most wanted and other viltrumites gonna hunt him down. Also Him just killing humans=you swapping flies
I’ve always liked and hated the line “she’s more like a pet to me,” because I COMPLETELY understand it. We love our pets. Our dogs, our cats, or parrots, or snakes, or our whatever it is you own, they are someone you love. They’re someone you take care of, someone you name, someone you spend many years with, and someone grieve when you lose. He DOES love Debbie. But not as a wife. As a mother. As a friend or partner. But as a PET… This is an incredibly telling view of the Viltrumites to humans, having lived a lifetime similar to a human/pet lifespan ratio…
This is an badly-timed comment, but it's important to remember that Nolan described himself as "joining the war effort as soon as he was old enough." He *grew up* in a period of absolute genocide back on his planet, almost certainly lost a LOT of people that he loved and didn't just accept that but enthusiastically signed on with the people doing it all. Nolan's entire conversation with Mark in this episode is him trying to get Mark to UNDERSTAND that, if someone is weak, they don't have any reason to exist and that such is good and right. That the Viltrumite Empire is doing a good thing, by coming here and protecting all of these weak people that don't deserve to exist, that FIGHTING AGAINST THAT is a moral bad. That brings only pain and hurt and death. Both for you, and, for the other people around you. He's trying to balance his Viltrumite upbringing and "values" with the fact that, at the end of the day, he *doesn't want to kill his son*.
Nolan started loving Debbie and Mark...he was basically raised from when he was a kid to love and serve the Viltrum Empire...he was trying to turn Mark but he was himself unconvinced... it's just sad😢
Remember in episode 1 where Mark was afraid of not being able to fill Nolan's shoes and being told by his mom that he didn't have to in order to be a superhero? Well from now on, Mark has to literally take Nolan's role and stand up against an entire alien armada alone if he wants Earth to survive
This show was my favorite of last year I can’t wait for this to come back I’ve never been more anxious while watching anything like I was with this show.I mean I was scared for Debbie every episode.I even got my sister who doesn’t like cartoons to love it after episode one she was hooked😂
Imagine the 100's of years and thousands of children Nolan possibly had and raised in the name of Viltrum before finally getting Mark who actually had powers. Such relief.
Mark dated Amber for 6 months. If you suck at lying, are not honest, and can't trust someone after 6 months, then break it up. Key stone in relationships, honesty and trust.
Great point! I think both Amber and Mark could have done better. In this case you covered what Mark should have done if he felt he couldn’t trust her and I agree. As far as Amber, she can’t force him to tell his secret. He would have told her in time I’m sure but he wanted to see if they could go the distance possibly. All the same that isn’t fair to Amber especially since she’s always put on hold. Idk why everyone hates Amber…I think they are missing the point.
No one seems to listen to Nolan. He's warning you that an army of his people are coming to Earth. Look at what he alone can do. I dont know why viewers instantly forget that incredibly important piece of info.
In theorie atom eve is the strongest. She can change your molecules and actually change the form of your body. I know in the series she doesn’t doe this but it’s said in the Atom Eve series on how eve got her powers that she can change molecules. She can take Omni Man’s powers away and change him in to a frog 🐸
Even from the perspective of an Earth aligned Nolan, there’s reason to do this. If one viltrumite can do this to earth, think of hundreds. That’s why Nolan does this, thinking Earth’s defeat is inevitable. Even if he loves humans or his family, he knows he can’t protect them from Viltrum. So he makes the choice.
Yes, all Viltrumites have mustaches lol. I haven't read the comics (yet), but I saw an interview with one of the writers of the comic, Robert Kirkman, where he said that they wanted Nolan to have a dad mustache, then they thought it would be funny if all Viltrumites had dad mustaches. They considered also giving the women mustaches as well, but thought that would be a little too ridiculous haha. I know it's been a while, but I'd love to see you guys react to season 2, and season 3 comes out in February as well! They really fix Amber's character as even the writers of the show felt they didn't do the best job with her in season 1.
Really Nolan never went "full speed" against Mark at all in that fight, other than maybe that last barrage before he flashed back. That was the only point at which he got to "fine, I'll just kill him"; up until then he was just trying to "beat sense into him". "I'd still have you" makes me tear up every time. I still remember first time watching it realizing it was surely what he was about to say and already tearing up. Amber is still the worst and I really wish Mark would have told her to just keep walking.
look, when he called Debbie Pet, he wasn't being pejorative, it's just that... try to buy it, you live 60 or 80 years, and your dog will only live 12, that doesn't mean you love him less, Besides that Nolan sees humans as an inferior species, like, no one feels bad about stepping on an ant, even though they know they feel pain and all. and also in his view, they were doing a good thing, which would be to help humanity advance, both in medicine and technology and in other areas, and all in exchange for loyalty. It's the same way when you adopt a dog, for example, you give him food, water, a roof over his head, and you just want him to be nice and love you.
There cool quote in ep.2 when Nolan got to the aliens portal to destroy them. He said "You don’t seem to understand, Earth isn't yours to conquer". It hit's diffrent when you know ending.
It's so frustrating seeing everyone watch this NOT get it, you guys think ur good people, but people with true empathy will get it right away, because empathy into Nolan lets you understand right away. I understood in 30 seconds. Nolan can conquer this planet literally single-handedly alone, you think he wants to do this now? He is coping for himself, trying to force himself, and trying to break the shock to mark when the inevitable comes he is mentally ready for the brutality. Nolan can't fight 100 of his own people, and earth certainly can't, let alone like 10 million viltrumites, there is NO CHANCE, this isn't a big hope to win power of friendship thing, this is like 1 human vs an ant hive, it was already impossible, then 2 humans show up, and 3 and 100 and 10,000, you get it? He wanted Mark to not have his powers, so he and debbie could die of old age and he wouldn't have to put them through seeing him forecfully conquer the world. But after mark got his powers, he realized he'd just be making it more painful on mark the longer he prolonged it. He has no option, either he conquers the planet only killing a few people and showing his brutality so they don't resist, or his people come and kill a LOT more. How many did nolan really kill there? about 200-300 people? If they resist, the other viltrumites will wipe out continents.
Well, the Viltrumites are similar to Saiyans in DBZ. And Nolan is basically Vegeta (Nolan is also if Goku didn't bump his head (lost his memory) and continue what he was ordered to do on invading the planet he was and so forth). In the Dragonball series there is so much destruction and human casualties, but you don't get to actually see all the gore behind that. And thats why you care less about it. This show just goes the Hardcore way, and i love it. We have enough Disney and Marvel stuff for kiddies these days.
@@CarlieAndAnge Yeah, some kind of Redemption arc maybe. I don't know much about the comics, but i heard that Omniman is like "nice" compared to other Viltrumites, and by far not the strongest one. I think we will get to know much more lore in the next season. I watched a lot of reactions and comments to this episode, and i would like to copy some good thoughts of people i found, considering the "perspective" of Omniman and the Viltrumites in general ( and maybe to Sayians, cause they also live much longer than humans) I hope you have time to read. Here we go :)
@@CarlieAndAnge I know it may be hard to believe, but for Viltrimite standards, Omni Man is a very loving a lenient father. When it comes to the whole fight sequence and Nolan's reasoning you kind of have to overcome the "human" point of view and look at it from "God's perspective". What Nolan said to Mark was very reasonable and even logical. Think of it this way, if our life span makes us Pets/animals (like he said about Debie), Viltrimite life span makes them human. Humans love and care for their pets, some even love their pets more than other humans, but in the end, human life is more important in the grand scheme of things. Eventually, our pets won't live anywhere near the amount of time as us, but we don't really get to live so long as well, which is why we tend to cling to pretty much anything that we can to enjoy the short ride we are on. Viltrimites on the other hand don't, their ride lasts so long that they get to see the natural birth of a planet and its natural end before they even look 60. They get to see their (actual) animals die before they even blink. So at some point, if your life is so incredibly long, you'll naturally come to a realization "why keep going thru it? Why keep letting myself get hurt? Why should I keep getting thru this fast and endless cycle of love, loss, and death? Why should I care If they are just going to blink before my eyes?". Their lives are more important because they are Human. And we are their kettle, their pets. We are here to sustain them, to play by their rules, to entertain them, for them to do with us whatever they see fit or deem necessary. Why? Because THEY are at the top of the food chain. Just like we have the power to do whatever we want with our animals, they have the power to do whatever they want with us. If a wild animal (or a pet) attacks a human, it gets put down. If we attack them, we get put down. Even animals with higher brain function, whom we know can feel emotions and empathy are still just animals whit whom we can do anything we want. It's not nice, but that's how nature works. The one with more power gets to chose. So what Nolan said wasn't meant to hurt Mark, he was trying to clear his eyes and help him understand why saving a human is more important than saving an animal. - "It's right to pity them Mark, WRONG to value them over your own kind!". "Is mom's life worthless?" -> "In the grand scheme of things, yes.". - Is animal life worthless? In comparison to humans? Yes.
@@CarlieAndAnge Nolan calling Debbie a Pet and that she doesn't matter is actually him trying to talk himself into this aswell. As seen in the Flashback, his time on Earth actually did affect him. If he truly was still 100% indoctrinated by the Viltrum ways, he would've killed Debbie the Moment she found out he murdered the Guardians, because she "didn't matter" anyway as he claimed. Not only that, he even let Art live with the Knowledge, which was another major risk. Granted he threw a lowkey threat at Art, but everything we know about Viltrumites at this point, this was still hella uncharacteristic. And when Nolan flew away, crying, it wasn't because he couldn't decide what to do. At that moment he did decide. It was either serve the Viltrum Empire which would mean to kill his Son, or abandon his Post. And as Allen said, in thousands of years there was never a incident of a Viltrumite abandoning his Mission, not even ONCE. Funny thing is that Omniman/Nolan is "nice" relative to other vitrumites. You can kind of tell he's conflicted about the whole thing but feels he has no choice. He said in episode 1 that it probably would have been better if Mark didn't get his powers... then he could at least wait out Debbie and Mark's death before he took over Earth. But since Mark's powers awakened, Nolan couldn't do that anymore. Every extra year that Mark lived is another one that Mark would become more attached to Earth and humans, so Nolan probably felt he had no more choice. And if he wasn't going to take over Earth, then the other vitrumites would eventually come. omniman is over 1000yrs old completely indoctrinated with his peoples ways. 17yrs with humans aint gonna change it. yet Marks words got to him.
@@CarlieAndAnge I get Omni man. Imagine if you traveled to a remote island. 1. People there looked like you 2. They were all made of paper 3. Buildings & vehicles made of cardboard 4. Their lifespan was 7 days If you spent a month there, you would see 4 generations already dead. The effort to not break everything or anyone ALL THE TIME. This is how Omni man perceives us; specks of time, weak, fragile and temporary, not warranting consideration. You wouldn't see those people as individuals, their lifespan is so fleeting, just 7days, why bother/invest to know anyone. from what i can tell, the reason Nolan was upset that mark got his powers is because he truly loved Mark and Debbie, but since mark got his powers that meant he would live for thousands of years as well, if mark didn't get his powers than Nolan could just spend the rest of Mark and Debbie's life with them and then use the pain from their deaths as a justification for carrying out the mission he was given, but he knew that wasn't going to be an option once he found out mark got his powers. I also see a lot of his gruesome actions in the end as a way of not only trying to strip the humanity from mark, but also strip the humanity from himself that he built up over the last 23 years and convince himself that hes actually loyal to viltrum, but in the end he couldn't sever his connection to the one last piece of humanity he had left, his son.
I was so interested to hear your thoughts about Amber and now I feel like you guys did a 180 because so many people disagreed with you in the comments. I really don't see her character as lazy writing at all. I think a lot of people confuse the point of why she was angry and hurt in the first place, which is what you both were picking up on from the start when you were saying she should break up with him _much_ earlier than I did when watching. Instead, people focus on his secret identity and telling her that he's Invincible when they're in highschool and have only been dating for a few months at the time. This entire conflict has nothing to do with him being a superhero; it's the fact that he continues to make promise after promise to her, breaking each one completely casually with the expectation that she'll get over it because that's good enough for her. Yes, he has a great excuse to be late, but he doesn't know she knows that... As far as he knows, he can promise her the world, show up when it suits him, give her a sloppy, halfhearted excuse that he pulls out of his ass on the spot, bring her a cheesecake every once in awhile and she should consider herself lucky to get the chance to be with him. "What? I've actually been hurting you for 5-6 months with my behavior? I mean, I _am_ a superhero, so what are you going to do, date someone who doesn't repeatedly make promises while knowing they have absolutely no control over whether or not they can follow through on them but they _aren't_ a superhero? C'mon... You're over it _now,_ right?"
"I can always start again, make another kid" and now that Earth knows what kind of monster he is, the next kid would probably be from a more...unwilling participant.
The way people act over two high schoolers being bad at dating really cracks me up. Also love how people try to act like Mark is blameless for how things have gone. If it goes anything like the comic, can't wait to see if people still end up so defensive of him.
Exactly!! It’s so annoying, like their kids and they are trying to figure everything out but everyone is so quick to jump down Ambers throat while acting like Mark is innocent.

Yooooooooo
Fun Fact: since Nolan abandoned his post to keep from beating his son to death, that makes him the nicest Viltrumite alive
Yup
Doesn't that actually make him the worst Viltrumite ever???
@@rizvan1632 By Viltrumite standard, yes
And he had a baby with his pet. Makes him a furry on viltrum

Right that quote actually brings a tear to my eye
I think it was then that Nolan realized that Mark was truly Invincible in a way he never perceived before - that despite everything he had done, Mark's love for him was still just as strong as ever, not even a crack was showing. His spirit could never be broken
@@aligmal5031 🤣🤣🤣😭 nahh bruh wilding
Facist??
Go study please
@@elgranhermano8872 exactly, I hate how authoritarian always immediately registers as fascist to normies
Jk Simmons deserved an Emmy nomination for this he bought so much life to the character
I don't think he actually sees Debbie as a pet. I think he just said that to convince himself of his ultimate plan
@@jplayer7jonny410 you're totally right
Hes also not human and from an extremely advanced and old civilisation. To nolan debbie is like a raven or a chimp.
@@neesonnaidoo4745 And your absolutely right.
Season 2 just finished. Hopefully we get a reaction soon?
They said they wouldn't watch because Mark got back together with Amber.
What makes this even more heartbreaking in a twisted way is Nolan was severely holding back on Mark he could have punched through him in an instant but because deep down he cared he didn’t but because of this that made it even more painful since he was killing him slowly
He could've submitted Mark to the donut compilation

@@pushqrdx real, people find this hard to accept for some reason. I guess they are so used to humans being at the top.

The comics have been finished for a while, and with a very satisfactory ending. There's material for about five to eight seasons, depending on the pacing, and you have _no idea_ where this story is going to go. This was just the beginning the best is yet to come, and there's _a lot_ of it.
Where do you begin to read after season 1?
@@urielgonzalez995 the show takes up very little of the comics so you may aswell read from chapter 1

He has so many layers…
He’s like an onion; he has many layers, and they all make you cry 🤣🤣🤣
Calling Debbie a pet may seem an insult to you, but I think to Nolan, it might mean something else. Think about it; do you love your pet any less than a family member? Some say their pet is family. But most of us outlive our pet, especially Nolan in this case. Hence I think his statement is justifiable, even if it sounds horrible to us.
So he had a child with his pe- oh no.
@@JollibeenosHasYourCoordinatesI mean, if he was sent to infiltrate and weaken the planet, having a kid with the locals has to come with the job.

Yo season 2 has already wrapped up. what're y'all waiting for?

But as a PET…
This is an incredibly telling view of the Viltrumites to humans, having lived a lifetime similar to a human/pet lifespan ratio…

*Blood completely covers the title screen*

Nolan is unbelievably strong, just imagine how strong are the other viltrumites..
Battle Beast.
Mark: Hey dad, where should we go for dinner?
Nolan: How about we hit a Subway?
...Too soon?
Been waiting for it. You guys weren't ready...
Next the boys
The alien dude IS a BEAST! I was shocked at first too
"kinda like when they were throwing the ball together" 11:00 Lmao exept mark is the ball this time.
Yeah definitely see those DBZ parallels. Hopefully Nolan gets a similar arc to Vegeta 😆
@@CarlieAndAnge Yeah, some kind of Redemption arc maybe.
I don't know much about the comics, but i heard that Omniman is like "nice" compared to other Viltrumites, and by far not the strongest one.
I think we will get to know much more lore in the next season.
I watched a lot of reactions and comments to this episode, and i would like to copy some good thoughts of people i found, considering the "perspective" of Omniman and the Viltrumites in general ( and maybe to Sayians, cause they also live much longer than humans)
I hope you have time to read.
1. People there looked like you
2. They were all made of paper
3. Buildings & vehicles made of cardboard
4. Their lifespan was 7 days
If you spent a month there, you would see 4 generations already dead.
And the funny part is that nolan is one of the nicest of his people the rest love battle, war, and torture.
Just one man can come to mind “Conquest”
This is J Jonah Jameson when you don't give him spiderman pictures
The way people act over two high schoolers being bad at dating really cracks me up. Also love how people try to act like Mark is blameless for how things have gone. If it goes anything like the comic, can't wait to see if people still end up so defensive of him.
Exactly!! It’s so annoying, like their kids and they are trying to figure everything out but everyone is so quick to jump down Ambers throat while acting like Mark is innocent.
Y'all have GOT to peep the Atom Eve episode and season 2🤌🏾🔥
I really like that this shows what would really happen if two super powered people fought in a large city.
