    Thanks for the review. It was great you showed all the features, even some we did not know were there. My husband is already digging these waders.

    I am super just absolutely super glad I bought these waders. I have no complaints whatsoever. Super comfortable for me. Used them ice fishing in 21 degree weather super warm. Feet got super cold I mean really cold but that was poor choice in boot selection. Used them in 31 degree weather wading in waist deep water no problem. The knee pads really are a nice touch to be honest.

    Nobody ever mentions this but the really cool thing about the plastic cell phone pocket is that you can actually use it through the plastic - the touchscreen works even with wet fingers! Figured this out by mistake.

      Great point, Stefan! Our shop employees are still loving these waders every day, very tough to beat for how durable and feature rich they are!

    I have the Rio Gallegos zip-front waders. I love them, although they're a tad baggy on me. My try a different size next time. In terms of features, one thing that really grabs my attention about on the Swiftcurrent is the fact that the suspenders actually unbuckle! With the Gallegos, they're all one piece, and if you aren't paying attention when you put them on, you might find that you've put your waders and boots on, but when it's time to slip the suspenders over your shoulders, you can't, and you have to take off your boots AND your waders and start all over. I've learned to be careful--although I still lapse once in a while if I'm distracted--but man, what a stupid design flaw! It really stands out on a pair that are otherwise, er, standouts! Glad they've fixes this on the new ones!

    Great video and I like your others as well. Have you all tried out the Swiftcurrent Packable version? If so, a review of those would be great. Thanks!

    • @AvidMax
      @AvidMax  4 роки тому

      Thanks for checking it out Lizzie! We have not got to put the packable waders to the test however the design of all the newest waders were taken from the seam design in the packable waders due to the durability of them.

    I’ve seen all the marketing hype and really appreciate Patagonia’s dedication to sustainability, but can anyone please give a field review after multiple days on water?? I went through multiple pairs of Patagonia Skeenas and every single pair leaked horribly, lucky they have the ironclad guarantee and I returned for full refund and purchased the same pair with the gift card. I’m not the only one who experienced leaky waders with the last generation. I’ve been looking everywhere for a legit field review rather than a marketing demo. Everything about the last generation was great, except for wet pants and socks! Someone please confirm Patagonia has fixed this problem.

      Thanks for your comment, two of us here at AvidMax (including Steve, the guy in this video) have been using these waders on the water for a while now. We both love them. We have confidence that the issues you've experienced in the past have been resolved with the swiftcurrent line. The double taped seams and durability updates to the fabric package have kept us dry and comfortable. We continue to be impressed with the performance of these in the field. If you want to get more in depth with the guys who have been wearing them, feel free to drop us a line and we'd be happy to chat!

      @@AvidMax Hi there. Really appreciate the review. Trying to make the decision between the Patagonia Swiftcurrent Expedition and the regular Swiftcurrents, and agree with the person who made the comment about wanting to hear from anglers who have used them. My main question is this-for someone like me, who fishes all year round (hot and cold conditions), which model is better overall, in terms of breathability? I love EVERYTHING about the Expeditions, but worry about breathability during warm weather. I need someone to tell me that they’ll breath in the hot weather, but so far haven’t found any good information on that. Any feedback or advice appreciated!

      @@buckellis8555 Hey there, I believe I have some insight for you! About half of us in the shop have been wearing the Swiftcurrent Expedition Zip waders for nearly a year. I've personally worn them in temperatures ranging from 8 degrees Fahrenheit to 80 degrees Fahrenheit. They have held up really well and I haven't gone easy on them by any means... Now, they feel thicker than my previous pair, but I don't notice a dramatic difference in breathability. If you have any further questions feel free to reach out and let us know! Or drop us a line at 720-836-3619

    How is the sizing on these waders? Are they form fitting? Will they fit huskier people?

    • @AvidMax
      @AvidMax  Рік тому

      They are somewhat form-fitting but mostly in the lower leg. Their "girth" is pretty roomy and allows for layering. They also have a wide size offering that will accommodate most if not all body types. They even have a custom program for when the shoe size misses to account for that! The best thing if you are able would be to come by to try them on.

    • @rustyshackleford4911
      @rustyshackleford4911 5 місяців тому

      I’m pretty…”husky” and they fit comfortably. Patagucci has extended sizes which helps.

    13 factories Patagonia uses are in China. It's easy to claim you are all about the environment, but when you manufacture in the place with the worst environmental and human rights violations, its nothing but virtue signalling.

    • @AvidMax
      @AvidMax  4 роки тому +16

      That's true, 13 of their 43 factories are in China. If you compare their transparency and reasoning ( found here: bit.ly/PatagoniaSupplierList and here: bit.ly/TheFootprintChronicles ) you'll see that they put their money where their mouth is just as much if not more than any other brand of their scale. The Pflueger Supreme Spinning Reel on your channel is also made in China, along with 99% of fishing reels and 60% of "Sporting Goods" overall. So, it would seem this is a larger issue. We agree that it's important to vet the places that you choose to spend money, and not give in to marketing jargon and virtue signaling. Personally, I chose these waders so that I would generate less long-term waste by having one premium wader for several years rather than dumping a mediocre pair every other season. Thanks for watching and for bringing up a great point!
      Cheers,
      AvidMax
