    An excellent video... You provide detailed information in a precise and non-threatening manner... Many "introduction to MIG welding" videos done by welding professionals are to technical for the complete novice and their results provide a level of perfection that is not easily reachable by the beginner. resulting in frustration. You have provided a great video with plenty of information done in a non-threatening manner, and your examples of welding are not "textbook" perfect, and don't add that extra layer of discouragement when the beginner's beads are a bit rough. Keep up the good work..

      Hey no problem! Glad to hear, you will love this machine to learn on. I have used it a ton. Currently on my 2nd spool of .023 wire, and 3rd tank of gas. I have replaced a rusted out section on my van floor, fixed a small rusted out section in the vans quarter panel. deleted 2 huge windows on the van by welding in panels I cut out of junk yard vans and stitch welded them in all the way around where the windows were. I have also welded together a complex bed frame that I integrated into the van body. welder has worked great and helped me become a much better welder and fabricator. I got videos coming on all that stuff at some point. only issue I have had was with the regulator that it came with, after welding for a long time the flow rate I set it at creeps way up. doesn't effect welding but it wastes gas. It may have been happening because I didn't open the tank all the way until the valve stopped, I was just cracking it open. need to see if the problem is still there. just keep an eye on you gas flow gauge on the regulator.

      Great to hear! it's an amazing welder for the price, MIG is just such a joy to work with compared to flux core. fixed and modified soo much stuff on my ford van with it. I fixed the rusted floor in this video ua-cam.com/video/_Y7Vc0ajQUU/v-deo.html don't even have that much experience with welding, good luck on the LandCruiser!

    I only need a welder for sheet metal patches. This one works great with everything included except your tank. I learned to flux core weld sheet metal, but its much harder to do. I don't burn thru when the Mig 90 is set up right.
    .23 or .25 wire is all I use. Harbor Freight has 2 pound wire and .25 tips for 10 bucks. And since they are 10 mins away from me...that works.

      Nice, this welder is perfect for sheet metal and body work. For sure. It can be done, mig is just so much faster and cleaner. Didn’t realize harbor freight sold 0.025 wire

    I weld flux core alot on thin metal you just have more clean up afterwards....I just got this same welder and it's great

      yeah it's doable, but sure glad I had this MIG welder when doing 1000's of spot/stitch welds when deleting the big side window on my van. It also seems that MIG welding is much much easier to manipulate the weld pool and make it do what you want. I found that flux core puddle likes to explode almost in tight areas for some reason. I do love this welder, I may upgrade to their 140mp someday so I can start learning TIG

    I don’t pay attention to the chart for the wire speed
    I usually set the wire speed at around 3- 4 (in this welder would be between 146 and 179) and have good results

    Cheapest empty 20cf tank at Northern Tool is $260 + $50 fill Ar/CO2. I see one on eBay for $120 empty. What size is your tank?

    • @4WheelKid
      @4WheelKid  4 місяці тому

      I got the mini mig tank but the air gas store keeps telling me to find a full size co2 tank on Craigslist for cheap and they can fill that

    I just ordered this welder. I heard the wire feed was garbage. Is it true?

    • @4WheelKid
      @4WheelKid  9 місяців тому +1

      its a sweet welder for the price, the wire feed has a plastic housing but it seems to work just fine for hobby use just make sure the tension is set right and not slipping. I'm on my 4th tank of gas and 3rd spool of .023 mig wire. still works great. I love welding with it. the gas regulator it came with would creep up sometimes so keep an eye one that, may have been because I wasn't opening the tank valve all the way. ill probably upgrade to the Eastwood 140 Amp Elite MP140i eventually so I can start learning tig and can weld thicker steel. That one has a better wire feed but also costs double the price.
