@@EbikeEscape I wish it was a true step thru. Also I never buy Ebikes that you can not remove the battery. But I do like the other features especially how light it is.
Even the previous generation T1 and T1 ST were very underrated because they don't have a throttle. Yeah, you can't use it like an electric moped, but if you wanted a bicycle, this is one of the top bikes to get right now. Super smooth torque sensor. Light enough to pedal like a regular bike, so range anxiety is not a thing at all. It's very nimble, easy to carry up and down stairs. Just perfect.
I bought this a month ago, it is exactly like riding a regular bicycle but the motor gives you wings. If you keep it on Eco mode PAS 3, I can get 70 miles on single charge. Really like my first ebike.
I don't think that anyone buying this bike would be trying to hit 28mph. This would be great for anyone who is a regular bike rider. The weight makes it possible to enjoy the ride.
Nice video. Does unlocking the motor reduce the range of the bicycle? or harm the motor? thanks. I have the T1ST no the plus, is the plus worth the upgrade? It comes with better wheel reflectors, not those giant ones on the original ST. On my T1ST original I am getting 34 to 35 miles on echo mode green the whole tripe with average speed of 16 to 17 mph. I am 60 years old , 5'10 and weigh 260. I love this e-bike and just purchased a T1ST plus, so I could have an extra one incase one breaks down. This is my exercise, not for anything else. I do the 35 miles 5 days a week with 2 days off.
I looked at the T1 ST this spring. Not much to get excited about in updated the + model although the adjustable stem is nice. Like the reviewer, 15 levels of pedal assist + 8 speeds seems like overkill. My ebike with 9 gears & 5 power levels is actually overkill -- at least for me. I compared the T1 ST to Soltera2, & Propella C9 Pro V2 ST. All were nice for a light weight ebike but to me the Propella had smoother power delivery, better ride, and overall better feature set (fenders, adjustable stem, wider tires...), AND the C9 V2 is 44 lbs with the battery & 39.5 lbs with the batt removed. So I went with the Propella C9 Pro V2. It helped that their HQ is less than 25 miles away. Very happy with it after 30 miles.
My C9 V2 now has 300 miles and I'm really enjoying riding it on roads and class 1 Mt bike trails. The addition of a Kineckt suspension seatpost & stem makes the street riding even smoother & with the 2" tires, it handles the trails quite nicely as well as long as the roots and rocks are 2" or less high. More that than & it gets a bit dicey.
Ribble has a 24 pound eBike, that is considered a lightweight eBike. This Velotric T1 ST Plus is over 40 pounds a mid weight eBike with a water bottle mounted. Ride1up roadster is 33 pounds, it is also above 30 pounds and is considered a midweight eBike. There is no way this midweight eBike can do 70 miles unless it has an auxiliary battery, and a 60 pound rider pedaling downhill.
I was interested in this bike. But I bought the Aventon Soltera 2 instead. The Soltera 2 has a throttle, removable battery, only 46 pounds and a little less expensive.
Changing between Eco, Trail and Boost should not need to stop. Battery needs to be removable. They need a real Step Thru. Throttle would be nice for an emergency, but not essential for me. I prefer external cables since I work on my own bikes. Really like how lightweight it is. I only buy true step thru bikes and want to be able to remove the battery, so that rules this bike out for me. Still I’m attracted to the light weight.
@@gmsunshine Propella 9S Pro V2, step thru, external battery. It is close, not Torque driven but the weight is good at 43lb I believe. One more thing I prefer is a 5 or 8 speed IGH. This means a mid drive. I prefer IGH because you can shift at a stop, something you cannot do with a derailleur. It also means more cost. Currently I do not need another Ebike. I have one that is an IGH has a mid drive with a removable battery. It is heavy and I wish it was lighter, but I can live with it.
I like a lot of what is here, but any bike without an easily removable is a no for me. batteries want nice temps so i always bring my bike battery inside with me rather than have it out in 100 degree FL summers or 40 degree winters. Also lack of a throttle seems like a compliance thing maybe? I like a throttle in case something happens to the drivetrain i can still get home. I rarely use my throttle for my Aventon Level, but on time a chain snapped and I was happy to have it there.
@blackwhirlwind1245 I am OK with lower power. I ride my ebike without power all the time for a good workout and use the motor when I am our ofngas or on the way to work on hit days. A lighter bike like this appeals to me and the price is fine to me, I just want lightweight, removable battery, a throttle, and at least 25 miles of actual range in case I do decide to use the assist the whole ride. (11.6 mile commute each way)
If going up 7lbs from 39lbs to 49lbs do not make a difference, I think the Aventon Soltera 2 is a better buy. Has more features and a removeable battery. Only thing this bike has over the Soltera 2 is the hydraulic disc brakes and the 7lbs weight difference.
I looked into what a replacement battery would be from velotric and their asking $399.99 for a new 10 ah battery which isn't a good value. Also, the extended battery is $299.99 for 4.9 ah. Too expensive compared to the competitions. They should also put the battery replacement on the website which they don't. Its a shame, bike is nice all around besides their batteries. Also, with the range extender I'd be afraid of hitting the plug with my leg which could be a huge headache.
Veloctric e-bikes are pretty expensive compared to other ebikes of similar power, no wonder their accessories are expensive too, Heybike and Lectric are better brands that offer better prices on their e-bikes.
I think this would be a great bike for me because I love to Pedal and I love to go fast all service bike will enable me to have unlimited range because from what I heard at pedals just like a regular bike I would basically only use the electric when I'm in a rush to get somewhere not to mention this electric bike from what I heard is waterproof really waterproof
The rear wheel requires a a box end wrench to remove should you need to repair a flat tire. Not exactly convenient. The front wheel is quick release, not the rear wheel.
I noticed the tires say 50-80 psi, which psi would be best to pump them to? I'm still new so I wouldn't know much about low psi vs high psi. I generally aim for more acceleration for less work
I heard this bike has a fingerprint sensor. Does it? What security measure does it have for someone to prevent it from being stolen? Can you disable it with the app on your phone?

Will the Soltera go over 20mph?
@@citystuff7184 I got it up to 22mph in the ECO peddle assist one once. I have no desire to go more than 20 mph.

This is lower power simple ebike, but they are still charging $1000+, the price alone should make most people stay away from it.

I wonder if it uses the same battery as VanMoof. Thank goodness it doesn't have auto shifting.

Higher PSI is what I tend to do.
Just know that will translate to a "harsher" ride, as the tires will not have as much give as with a lower PSI.
Ryan or JT. What are your favorite Wisconsin bike trails?? We have great ones in the Chicagoland area but would like to venture out more.
Tomahawk and further north has some real nice trails! But at this stage we are commuting around town on our eBikes.
Can you recommend a nice iphone holder for this bike?
I heard this bike has a fingerprint sensor. Does it? What security measure does it have for someone to prevent it from being stolen? Can you disable it with the app on your phone?
The T1 does
which mph app are you using on your phone ?
so the brake light come off?
No front suspension
Yea just make a bike with industry standard battery compatibility and they would have something here otherwise no
PAS only = deal breaker
