Yeah Buddy! Those rocks in Oklahoma are something else. Hate you missed out on those views. You definitely earned it Day 4 with the weather & the climbs up Wilton mountain + to the state line from the Kiamichi. Congrats on finishing, & doing it for such a great cause! Looking forward to seeing the rest of your journey.
Thanks for posting the video! And for a good cause too!!! Its helpful for my curiosity. I plan on taking my brothers and a lot of water to do the first section. We finished the Lone Star Hiking Trail thru hike and this is next on the list. But we wanna check out parts of it first before we commit to a thru hike of the Ouachita. Any wisdom youre willing to give out about the trail?
Not the entire trail. There are some parts (Womble Trail) in Arkansas that you can bike. Honesty there are parts that you could night ride a bike, especially in the Oklahoma section!
Great job on the videography, nice upbeat music; love the limited views due to the weather; if you think of it, i would love to see a gear explosion video. Great job
Thank you, Paul! If you look a few videos back I did a gear video on my “Ouachita Trail Preparation and Purpose video! Also did a video this last week of my “Big 3”! Check it out!
I was a cook at the lodge at around the time you were hiking, so there's a good chance I cooked at least one of your hot meals there. Glad you enjoyed!
Absolutely to both questions. I hang no matter what. Bears are more of an issue near the Queen Wilhelmina section, but they are seen throughout the ONF.
Great video! Really enjoying following your hike. Doesn't that chair in the QWSP room just seem like the most comfortable chair in the whole entire world?? Keep up the good work on these videos. Your editing is easy to follow and enjoyable to watch.
The bud light choice aged very well hahahahah🎉
I am watching your video and I wanted to say, great job on bringing us along on your journey.
Thank you, Lacey!

Thank you, Chris! I’ll get back out there one day and get those views on some blue bird days!
I see it’s 2020. Wondering what month?
Last week of October to the first weekend in November.

It is very doable if you take your time and have your food and gear dialed in!
I have to figure out a way to hike this trail. Nice video
Yes you do, Greg!
I'm glad you got through section 1 when you did. It was badly overgrown just a week earlier.
Man that trail was in great shape! So thankful for FoOT!
can this trail be done on a bike?
Not the entire trail. There are some parts (Womble Trail) in Arkansas that you can bike. Honesty there are parts that you could night ride a bike, especially in the Oklahoma section!

It’s a beautiful trail! Thank you for watching!
When are the best months to avoid the ticks and chiggers?
Definitely in the fall and winter months!
I was a cook at the lodge at around the time you were hiking, so there's a good chance I cooked at least one of your hot meals there. Glad you enjoyed!
You guys are top notch!
What time of year did you start, and how was the weather?
I started in late October. Weather the first half of the trip was horrible! The second half was beautiful!
Are you hanging food away from your sleeping area? Or are bears not a concernm
Absolutely to both questions. I hang no matter what. Bears are more of an issue near the Queen Wilhelmina section, but they are seen throughout the ONF.
